Rep Power: 0 | | | My name is Zach, and I'm 20 years old. I am relatively new to this site, so most of you probably haven't seen me around. I currently weigh 269lbs. In July I weighed 295lbs, so I am slowly losing some weight. I think I'm going to have to kick it up a notch though. For the last several months I have just been cutting back on eating, and doing 4-5 exercise sessions a week for about an 1hour.
My target weight is 190lbs or so. I am doing it for several reasons, but the two main things I can think of are to better my health and that I want to climb a mountain someday. |

My name is Britta, I'm 20 years old, and my goal is to drop about fifty pounds. (Started at 200, goal is 150)
I am a sophomore in college studying music education, and finals start on Monday. Eek! My goals right now are to get down to 190 by winter break because I am getting surgery pretty much right away and will not be able to exercise for a fairly long time.. so I'll be relying on my eating habits at that point. Look forward to getting to know you all!

Rep Power: 314 | | | Be careful after you've had your surgery. I had knee surgury last February. I couldn't do anything for months beforehand and for even more months afterward. It was just maybe 3 months ago that I was really able to start exercising again, and sometimes it still gives me trouble. I thought I was eating well, but I think I just ate too many calories. Thats when I gained weight. I didn't keep track of anything while I was out, which I should have done, and maybe I would have been able to prevent it. But it sounds like you know what you're doing. I'm just warning you, be careful, because the weight can sneak up on you, and its much harder to get it off than put it on.

I have a very small upper body (although my stomach could be a little smaller), but I have a really big butt and wide hips. I HATE buying jeans. 2 months ago I went to buy a couple pairs before school started, and I spent so much time trying on over 30 pairs. NOTHING. It's really hard for me to buy pants bc I won't buy them unless they fit perfectly which they never do.
Also, that sounds like a pretty reasonable goal which I KNOW you WILL accomplish. You're going to look sooo good on your birthday!
angel- Are you nervous about finishing your degree?? I finish mine in June, and I'm nervous, anxious, excited, scared, and sad all at the same time. It's going to be weird!
Zach- Congrats on your weight loss so far! 26 lbs is an awesome start
Britta- My finals start on Monday too...I have my hardest one on Monday at 7:30 AM. I'm starting to freak out a little. My goal is to start studying TODAY. |

I'll be on crutches the first two to four weeks, in a specialized brace for a couple months after that, then just other recovery.

Rep Power: 314 | | | repaired the meniscus, which was torn in two places, and a lateral release- cut the IT band so my knee cap would track correctly cuz it had twisted in the wrong direction. It was painful, but I was happy after the surgery knowing that things were going to get better from there.

I'm a senior but have another four years of graduate school before I can get a real job. It seems sooo far away! Definitely not looking forward to all the exams in the next few weeks, fitting in adequate time for the gym is not going to be too easy.
sEoYeOn and gymchica - I am definitely with you on the huge hips and butt! Unfortunately my arms and chest lose weight first, so that just accentuates
the pear shape. I so wish target weight loss was a possibility. |

Rep Power: 4682 | | | Heh. The real world and jobs are not all they are cracked up to be. Enjoy college. You will not know what you have until it is passed.
I am glad I am done with school (for now), but the full year of looking for a real job while continuing to work in retail, followed by a contractor job where I was laid off after five months, then another year before finding a stable job (and then I realized the job sucked) was not the best time in my life. I have settled now and love my job. Enjoy what you have now.
:)

| I have the same problem. I also have a problem with my calves being HUGE. Even when I was 210lbs, they were barely smaller. It's weird, because there really isn't too much fat there. Uggg, I hate my big legs...
