Rep Power: 19 | | | My Motivation I'd like to hear how everyone manages to get their butts on their bikes/treadmills/out the door etc every day (or however many days you do it )
Myself, I've got two motivators. One is my fiance who always lets me know I'm beautiful as I am but that losing weight would be better for my health (he doesn't say it, but I know he means I'd be more beautiful without the extra love handles - god bless the tactful ones!). He always encourages me to get on the bike and finish my full 45 minutes because I do have a bit of a weak resolve in that regard, and sometimes need to borrow some of his. My second motivator is a stem of the first; my fiance has over the past few months bought me the first four seasons of CSI on DVD (which are conveniently 45 minutes long!), as well as the first season of CSI: Miami. I only get to watch them while I'm biking. They're my carrot on a stick and reward all at the same time. They also make the time go much faster!
So how about you? |

Rep Power: 0 | | My motivation (and this may seem materialistic) is that on February 12, 2006 I leave for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Out of the eyes of my immediate family (brother, dad, mom, and grandma) I never let ANYONE see me in a sleeveless top, shorts, or bathing suit. So when I officially booked this vacation for myself, I thought "what the heck am I doing? I am going to a place where everyone lives in bathing suits and minimal clothing, and here I am only comfortable being fully clothed". I just absolutely REFUSE to pay my hard earned money (I worked a full time and a part time job this summer) to go on this trip and feel awful about myself. So therefore, everyday I think about this trip (I even have pictures of the beach printed out and plastered over my school binders, room, and the backdrop of my computer), and I think to myself "if I don't even TRY to improve the way I look and feel about myself by February, I will be so upset with myself I won't enjoy the trip I have worked so hard for". I also think to myself... "I worked my a$$ off for the money to be able to pay for the trip, I should work my a$$ off to feel good about myself and live healthier". I think the most important thing is that I'm doing it for ME and NO ONE ELSE!!

every time i see that i remember what i'm working so hard towards and its just enough to get me started walking. once i'm on the treadmill, i got my favorite music to keep me pumped.

Rep Power: 0 | | | My new motivator is looking at the pics of me at my current (high) weight and pics of me at my goal weight (which I was at many months ago). I'm shocked at the difference. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | My motivation is the really thin and toned people at the gym, because if they can make their bodies look that way I can do it too! Also the pictures I have from a few years ago when I was close to my targer weight. |

Rep Power: 10 | | | i look in the mirror every day and analyse myself top to bottom. Probably not the best way, but i am not 100% happy with what i see and that gets me to the gym. When I'm working out regularly, i can see difference and it keeps me going. ... every once in awhile, i'll get a comment from a friend or family that i'm "looking good", but i seem to get more motivation from myself than from them. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
