Rep Power: 476 | | | hey bling, july 12 2008 is the day the wedding that i'm gonna be in is on! so that's when i have to be skinny by too hehe...
whoever was talking about their friends ruining their diets, i have that problem too! my skinny friends love to go out for dinner all the time, and they're such bad influences, same with my husband...he loves to convince me to grab a burger etc...aaaah it's so frustrating! and i have a hard time telling people that i'm on a diet because that's like admitting i'm fat...usually if i know i'll be doing something with a friend i won't eat anything else that day lol...it sucks

I have people that will eat terrible around me and then I have my mother who buys the bad food and then says "are you sure you should eat that". There is almost nothing worse than being told not to do something! In reality, we got our selves into this trouble and we have to pull ourselves out of it.
Now mind you, I live alone about 12 hours from my mother, so I can keep my irritation at bay. However, this summer I will be moving back in with my parents for four months and I know it won't be easy. I'm trying to gear myself up for it.
If you let people know you are losing weight, they might be more sensitive and aware, but you must be prepared to fend for yourself. If someone suggests getting fast food, suggest a healthier alternative and tell them its your treat (as long as you can afford to do it once in a while). If someone you live with cooks unhealthy, tell them that you'd like to give them a break and cook them dinner for a change. This way you can cook the way you feel is comfortable. If you make people feel like their getting a favor, they are more likely to accommodate what you want. Reverse psychology and self preservation, my friend. When I go to a party (or potluck), I'll bring something healthy. This way you're doing the host or hostess a favor by bringing something AND you've got "fall-back" food in case there is too much unhealthy stuff.
That's my 2-cents. Its tough so good Luck!

Rep Power: 1440 | | I totally agree, and although my sister in law wants to still eat fast food, she tells me that I inspire her because of my conviction to stay on track.
In my eyes I have no choice but to lose weight. My dress does NOT have a corset back, so if I dont fit in it I am SOL.

| Thanks a lot liddieloo and thanks for the tip too. I have started incorporating a lot of veggies in my diet. Apart from that, I am working out too. Today I made it a point to go to the gym in the morning. Woo Hoo
And one more point I realized: Drink loads of water! Quote: |

Just curious, does you dress fit you right now? Its such a toss up whether or not to get the snug dress and lose weight to fit it. I know they always say not to buy a dress with the hopes of losing weight, but it sure helps the motivation! I'm sure you'll do it because you seem committed!

Rep Power: 1440 | | ya, I took the chance and got a size 10 dress that I csn zip up, but barely. it is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery tight. the skirt is free flowing, so it is only tight around the midsection. I am confident that I will fit nicely into it soon

Rep Power: 0 | | I got my dress! It's so beautiful. It's being ordered, not to arrive until may so I'll have plenty of time to lose weight before I am measured for altering.
This is it: Designer Gowns

Rep Power: 12939 | | | I made a deal with myself that I wouldn't even go out looking at dresses until I reach 160. I'm almost there....
