You're already doing so well! Don't give up now! Stick with it and you'll get results. You might want to use a measuring tape instead of a scale to see how you're progressing, especially if you are trying to build muscle (which, of course weighs more than fat).
I know you can see from my ticker that I'm not the best at losing weight myself. I'm having eating issues connected with spending issues (i.e. I'm spending money I don't have on food I don't need, like cheesecake). I'm finally out of money and seeking professional help, though, so that should change. Despite all that, I stole the advice in the previous paragraph from a weight loss genius (Steve) so I know it's the truth.
Good luck!

Rep Power: 3990 | | | I keep bouncing between the 241-242 range thees last couple days. Either way the inches are a sliding off and I feel great. I have so much more energy than I normally do and I'm kicking my workouts up a notch. My birthday is march fourth expect me to be squealing in joy if I can actually break out of the 240's by then. |

Rep Power: 1318 | | Okay, so sometimes I get a little frustrated because I am still not in the smaller clothes in the back of my closet and the weight loss just seems sooooo slow. One pound last week, one pound these week...it feels like slow motion!
However, sometimes I have to put it in perspective. I put on my jeans this morning, a pair I bought a few months back so that I would have another pair to wear and they are TOO BIG!! No, they aren't falling off me, but I can pull a good inch or two on the waistband from my waist and there is plenty of excess material on the front, sides, and back...it's clear that they are too big. Made me very, very happy!!!
I'm down a total of 69 pounds.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Thats fantastic! Losing 70 lbs seems like one of those things I want to do but don't ever actually think will happen. Great job!
I know what you mean with the slow process. I've been sick for the past week and haven't been able to do ANY cardio. I can't even talk/laugh without a horrible coughing fit. I want to be down another 10 lbs by St Patricks Day (so I can drink it all back in one day hah) but at this rate I'm never gonna get there.
I hate being sick.

I'm down a total of 69 pounds. | 69 pounds!! That is awesome!!
I take it one week at a time. I weigh in on Tuesday right now, once a week and various times during the week...
It is a slow process, some lose weight faster than others. But the slower you lose it the more likely it will stay off ..
keep it up hun
congrats on the pants!!
always

Rep Power: 8452 | | So I am back once again. Had a bad rest of the month, after The VDAY challenge ended. Gained some of the weight back, but now have lost it once again. Had Aunt Flo... I always gain five pounds during and after Aunt Flo... happy to report I am back on track, time to lose more weight and walk my butt off. More focused this time and definitely on track...

Rep Power: 85555 | | Well guys...I have some good news to share... I made it to onderland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was on a weighing strike because it appeared that I had hit a plateau at 204 pounds...so rather than keep weighing myself and getting aggravated, I just didn't pay any attention to the scale. Something told me this week that I should check it out and when i did...196.4!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't been under 200 since 1995 ...now the second part of my journey begins, the next 50 pounds but I know I can do it!
And believe me, if I can somehow manage to lose 68 pounds anyone can...I just wanted to share my happy news...I hope you all are well and working hard and just remember, NEVER GIVE UP - if you know you are doing the right thing, the results will follow!

I'm a newbie to the forums and was told about this thread by nataliejo.
I'm originally from Nor Cal and now reside in Arizona. I have been overweight for a majority of my life. I was a skinny kid, then a chubby pre-teen(5'5 and 165 lbs in 6th grade... I think), then in 8th grade I was 5'7 225, and it was all downhill since then.
I just turned 22, 5'9 in height, currently weight 245, and wear an XL in shirts and an 18 in pants (I put what size clothes I wear so that you can get a visual of what I look like since my pic is a head shot). In high school my max weight was 260 and just a couple years ago I was at 215 (the lowest I've been since 8th grade).
Lately I have been watching my calorie intake. I put myself on a 1750 calorie diet, have been eating more small healthy meals and wait 20 minutes before I dive in for 2nds so that my tummy can regester if it's full or not, and whenever I feel the need to feed, I grab me some fresh raw vegetables to snack on.
Oh and I have been adding exercise into the mix... to be honest, I'm trying ease my way into exercising and have just been working out to the 'Sweating to the Oldies' video tape I found in our house. After which, I'll start adding some other exercise routines.
Am I headed on the right track towards achieving my goal? I hope so.
I think this thread is just the thing I need to help keep me motivated and determined to reach my first goal of 193 lbs by August (I hope).
Talk to you all soon.
