Anyway, I have a question.

I found my mom's "Sweatin to the Oldies" tape with Richard Simmons and I've been working out to it the last couple of days. Is that a good beginning video for me to start off with? Does anyone else use these videos? Or am I like the only one? Because I've just ordered the whole set on DvD the other day for like 30 bucks.

Those are awesome Videos... where did you get them? I threw my old ones out ..but would love to have them again.. I think I would get far with those to have on days I dont want to walk ...or its really hot ..too hot even for a bike ...

Best thing I ever got on Ebay was a Coach credit card holder, I think it sold for 75-100 dollars and I got it for 30 Nothing beats a good deal...

I am loving onderland, but I went through I few days where I was like, "I have HOW far to go still???" I have to try to focus on where I was a year ago (and for the 10 years before that) and remember how far I have come. Breaking things up into smaller goals has helped b/c let's face it, most of us here aren't just trying to lose 10 pounds to look better in a swimsuit, you know?

The other issue I am struggling with is the fact that it is becoming more evident that I am going to need some sort of corrective surgery near or at the end of this thing (and I know that there are differing schools of thought on this issue as far as loving what God gave us, etc...for me personally, I won't feel complete looking like a deflated balloon, esp with what I want to do as far as strength-training goes once I am done losing fat...sorry about the long paranthetical, ha ha) and any type of surgery is going to result in a set-back...something along the lines of two steps back to go one big step forward...so I have no idea when the end will be but I know that getting there will be harder than it was getting to this point. Thankfully I have you guys and some really great people at home who help me keep it all in perspective, which on those low days, is so helpful.

All in all I am so happy, especially now that I can shop in a wider selection of stores than before but it is a little overwhelming after only really having Lane Bryant as a choice for the last half of my life.

I dug out my high school softball jersey the other day and it fit again, which was a HUGE accomplishment...it was like erasing time...I am so glad I didn't throw all that stuff out when i gained weight...what a fun experience...

How are things in your neck of the woods???

NATALIEJO!!!!! Did I read right? Do my eyes deceive me? Did you say....277lbs!! Does that mean that you have lost more than 10 lbs since the beginning of the year? Is that a cause for a party? Hell yes I think so!! Way to go girlie!!! I think sometimes it's good to reflect on the journey and see how far we have come. Loving the new avi by the way I can see the difference in ur face especially by your jaw and neck. YOU GO WITH YOUR BAD SELF!! well really with your good self but u know what i mean ;-) Keep your chin up and keep moving on girl, life will always try to be overwhelming, my goal these days is to overwhelm life.....as much as I can anyways some days i feel like i am dying LOL

OMG Ali I looooved that!!

Did I hear you say...."Coach"...Coach wallet? Are you a purse lover? I am crazy about purses...well Dooney and Bourke purses. LOVE THEM!! I live in Florida and there are three coach outlets that I know of and 2 Dooney and Bourke outlets. Excellent deals at Dooney and Bourke...two of the purses I bought were for $75 and $69 and both purses were worth $150 I also bought a purse there for $109 and it was worth $250. I don't know if you also like dooney...I noticed that most coach lovers are not dooney lovers and vice versa. Next time you are in Florida though, you have to check out the coach outlet. If you are going to Disney World there is a Coach outlet close to there...and a Dooney outlet in the same plaza. I can be bad where purses are concerned, but I think I am living with a great deal of moderation. I think anyways. If you see the attached thumbnail, my little sister sent this to me...its from the "It's not a problem, its a superpower" line of these pictures.

Its great to hear about your adventures in Onederland. I cannot wait to get out of Lane Bryant! They have a lot of cute things....but sometimes I see an item that will really piss me off. Something that looks like an un-sewn piece of cloth that they are trying to pass off as a dress...like a sheet of denim or something with a lace frill under the bustline. Those things piss me off. Just because people are a little on the fluffy side does not give you the right to sell clothes that have no zest. ...where is the cursing emoticon... (found it). I really loved hearing about shopping in other stores....can't wait until I get there!

Just a note: I'm not completely sure, but I've read that strength training helps make saggy skin much less noticeable. Here's an article I found online... How to Avoid Saggy Skin After Losing 50 Pounds

Hey Ali!
I am so happy you get fit in your old jersey!! I have a pair of pants from when I was in college and weighed a lot less .. I love these pants ..they are blue denim and than have a darker denim going down the sides... all the way down ... they are two toned and oh so cool ...someday ... I will be wearing them again

I am happy that you have support at home, and you always know you have support here. and reflecting on onederland is always good. We always have certain misconceptions about ourselves and I, myself, probably will always look at my body as overweight, but really I won't be at 165 .. u know

but anyway I shall ttylater hun
love yas

Nataliejo.
I got my Richard Simmons DvD's on AMAZON. For about 30 bucks and it has his whole Sweatin to the Oldies Series, plus an extra video about self esteem / steps to loving you. I know I learned alot about R. Simmons on that, like how he use to have a really bad eating disorder and stuff.

I'd also look on EBAY like ali.smedley said. You can get great deals there. My friend Rob bought 3 pairs of new Adidas that just came out which were mad crazy/ sic looking for about 40 bucks. Man, I gotta get me an account with Ebay, cuz that's where my friend buys me my acne medicine from.

Congratulations on your weight loss.

Veronica

My right ankle sometimes feels like that sometimes, but hasn't been lately. However, that's due to an injury I got at my previous job where my foot got caught between two pallets and twisted. Now, if I streatch my ankle too much my achelies tendion (pardon my spelling) pops. Kinda sounds like when you get a belt and pull it really hard to get that snapping sound. I use an ankle wrap/support on it now, just incase I land wrong.

Wow! It's great how much a 3 pound weight loss can help improve old injurys / aches and pains. It's awesome that your knee feels better.

Kevi.. thanks

I am working hard, walking and what not. Trying to keep the food in check . ..

You sound like you are doing awesome. I noticed my ankles hurt when I walk, not so much anymore. Thats because they bear all our weight. Thats why losing weight is such a great idea .. I am happy to hear you can jump again in backet ball .. I am very careful when I jump, I notice I feel like buckling ..but I just need to exercising and doing what I
