Rep Power: 301522 | | Ginger - there is a coach outlet in Limerick, Pa, which I think is w/in an hour from my house...I definately have plans to go there...I only have one dooney and one coach bag, I need/want to get a nice black bag that I can use year round but I gotta save the money up...it's a shame b/c the coach bag I have I don't like anymore...I may sell it on ebay to fund the purchase of a new one
I haven't been able to get to the gym the past two days due to scheduling conflicts...so annoying, I totally miss it when I am not there...TG I am going tomorrow, I love Sundays b/c my lifting partner and I can take our time instead of rushing through the routine like we do during the week so we can get to work on time...we have been talking about changing up the routine a little which I am excited about, I totally noticed a complete shift in my weight loss once I started strength training...
My weight loss appears to have stalled a bit, but I think it is related to THAT time of the month (ew) so hopefully, once that passes things will get moving again. If not, I will just keep doing what I do...having cake at work the past two days didn't help...those dang office birthdays! I can't resist the call of carrot cake to save my life.
I am feeling more of a desire to get this over with already - I think that it comes from being able to shop in some normal stores again and the fact that I am frustrated with how long the process is taking...I see posts of people who have lost 70 pounds in a matter of months and I have been working my rear end off for over a year just to get to that point...I know I am just impatient but sheesh...haha, I will get over it, I know I sound whiny...it will pass.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Hope everyone is having a great weekend | Ali .. it will come off. Took me a year to lose forty pounds ... and I hated that it took a year. I had wished that I could have been 250 by now. But I won't be 250 until next year, this time. Which is ok I think, because losing slow is the best way to lose.. so don't get too frustrated ..it will all come off in due time .. no worries there ...
keep in mind the less you weigh, the more plateaus you are going to hit ..so dont get discouraged .. keep trecking hun .. We KNOW you can do this!!

I HATE plateaus!! I am so glad you broke yours It is hard to keep pushing through it but if you just keep at it (calories in<calories out) you know it HAS to change!
Great job!
natalie jo - keep at it, try to ignore the little fluctuations, that's all they are - I try to look at the big picture, although it is hard at times...
it gets better...

Hey Ali..
Thanks for the advice. Its probably water weight from eating the salty pretzels ..one week I gained somewhere around five to nine pounds on the salt in the pretzels, once I cut them out of my diet I went back down and even went lower, so the salt has got to go, but no I ate some today!! Whats a girl to do...
but anyway .. I also had a mint muskateer.. they have had so many commercials on it. I just wanted to try it once lol, because I used to love muskateers, at least now I know what I will be missing lol I think I drool everytime the comercial comes on lmao
anyway ... I hope I have not hit a plateau.. I hate them so much, but I wouldnt be surprised, seeing as I have lost 22 pounds ..so the plateau is bound to show up anytime ..
my goal is to be 275 by May .. I think I can handle that ..about three pounds .. yes I can .. I estimate up, because of just what you said ..flucations ...
so ttylater Ali
you have a awesome day!
love yas

Rep Power: 8452 | | so hey guys and gals,
I am thinking the constant munching on the pretzels is what is making me go up in weight. I have noticed a trend since before Tuesday ..a rise of a pound or two.. the only thing that has changed is me eating pretzels once again ..and I have had them in semi large quantities ..
Pink Clouds looks like we both got the salt bug!! lol
I am sure you will drop below me hun!
but we are neck and neck. I like having someone around what I weigh..
but I have to say hun ..we can do this ..all of us!
All of you .... your so awesome
keep your heads held high
and keep trecking
love yas

thanks for the support I totally hear what you are saying, slower is better...it took me forever to get like this, I can't expect it to disappear overnight (I can't??? Dang it!!! hehe)
Regarding the mint musketeer, I think one of the reasons I am succeeding this time (as opposed to all of my previous attempts) is because rather than cutting out entire categories of things, I will allow myself small portions of things I like and cut back somewhere else to accomodate that choice.
I have a thing for chocolate, more so when I am not 'supposed' to have it, so what i do is buy bags of Hershey's Kisses or Dove chocolate squares, which are 20-40 cals/piece. I can have some chocolate so I don't feel deprived and the calories are not a deal-breaker, you know?
I also do that if we eat out somewhere and my friends get an appetizer I like or I want to have a drink...I will make sure I eat more salads or just less through the day. This way I don't feel as if I am missing out.
I don't know if it will work for you or not but I have been fighting this for so long and this has worked for me. The biggest problem I had in the past was feeling deprived and this way, I don't.
The other thing that helps is that I know because of the exercise I do that gives me a little more latitude as well. It took me a long time to get where I am with that, but if you do a little more physical activity, you have a little more freedom with the food.
As for salt, as long as you know what it does to your weight, then I woudn't worry about it.
You are going to reach your goals I know it!!!
have a great weekend!
ps - I finally started a diary...let's see if I can keep up with it...

Rep Power: 6300 | | | Neat guys! I was just writing on my other thread about how I have finally (why WHY did it take so long?) realized that I just lose weight slowly. For some odd reason if I work out a minute and make one nutritious choice I expect myself to be 122 the next day. So I'm working on making a lifestyle and not seeing myself as winning or losing but just making choices that affect how I'll feel.

You get the point
What I have found is that if I make the right choices and exercise as I should, the rest will just follow. I may be 100 by the time I get there, but I WILL get there.

Rep Power: 3940 | | Congrats on the 5 lb weight loss Bubbles.....that is so cool! Halfway to your goal is just around the corner and those pounds will melt off of you like butter.
OMG Kevi...wetted 2 1/2 shirts?!?!?!?! I have never sweat so much in my life! Maybe that's my problem Well maybe not, I am a woman after all Aliiiiiiiiiiiii I think its smart to sell that one to fund the purchase of a new one. Two things I love in this world are Mozilla Firefox and Dooney and Bourke :-p I also want one more black purse, I saw it the last time i went to the outlet, but I do not know if they have more. I go to the outlet an average of once a year and do my fair share of damage when I am there. CaRrOt CaKe OMG...the one from Publix is so darn good! U know when TOM is here the weight loss does tend to slow down, don't worry about it. You are safely away from 200 and there is nowhere to go but down from here. Its good to lose weight at a slower pace although it pisses us off greatly, but you have been doing so good, don't let the time frustrate you.
Hey Nataliejo, thanks for being so sweet and supportive. I am really going to need it for the next few weeks. I am not going to be so strict, but I am going to really dedicate myself to this lifestyle change. I never really give it all I got, and I think I am worth it. Not only that but CONFESSION.... and please everybody, I do not want to hear...oh you should not lose weight for that reason, because I think whatever the reason is, if it motivates you to lose weight and you succeed, then it is a good reason LOL...well okay as long it is a reason that has a certain amount of morality and you lose weight it is a good reason. My confession, I want to take revenge!! Revenge on all the people that have bothered me about my weight, revenge on all of the stores that have not sold me clothes I like. REVENGE!!! Revenge on stores like Cache that told me they do not sell clothes in my size and practically ran me out of their store (and i was accompanying someone thin who was looking at clothes, I did not even want anything!!) On friday I ate junk as i told you, but everyone at work was eating junk. I even bought a bag of jellybeans and fed so many people from it LOL but they were all acting as if I was the source of all fatness and negative food influence, when in reality, they were the ones asking me to eat with them. There are even a few on "strict" diets who were making slick comments. So I said to myself, "Ginger, you can do this! Lets show these naysayers what we are made of. (well what we are made of beneath the fat)." So now I am on a peaceful rampage to get back in good health and recover the precious body God blessed me with.
About the salt, yes it does cause water retention and weight gain, but like Ali said, I don't think we should worry about it because we know the effect it has on us. So at least we know if we gained 5 lbs over the weekend it was water and not fat. I was reading that although so many diets discourage the use of salt so that you can see a greater amount of weight loss quickly, healthy weight loss requires salt because salt retains water that the body needs for digestion and other important functions. Of course in extreme excess it is not good, but it should not be taken out of our diets. I remember one time in my life i used to eat so many pretzels that I would bite them and align them in a way to spell my name...what the heck is wrong with me!! I really enjoyed pretzels tho.
Yeah Spartacus, I am like you. If I eat good one day I go on the scale the next and expect to see a loss LOL But even for skin elasticity, slow weight loss is recommended. But for me, fast weight loss is desired
