Awesome job losing 6lbs since January! Looking foward to hearing more from you on this board!
Wow! Today is so nice! It's 6:30 am, Mountain Time (I think that's what Az is) and it's already 50degrees, but feels a bit higher. It's suppose to get to 84 today! Boy I do love Spring. Except now all the bugs are starting to come into our house. The pest controll guy sprayed maybe a week ago and we're already getting baby Wolf Spiders in our house! Thank goodness they are the male ones... those female Wolf Spiders are a force to reckon with. Oh, and the other day I seen a flying cockroach looking thingy flying around our front door! Eeewww... darn me living in the desert.
Later All,

Rep Power: 7 | | All of you are so amazing, thank you for the welcome. I really feel I'll fit in here!
So what's the verdict on deit soda? Around 6 months ago I was a regular soda holick, but since switched to deit.
I have decided once joining this board, to cut down to 1 cup a day, and just drink water, well and have my coffe in the morning.
I heard about the calorie chart sight. So thought I'd check it out. I am totaly never ever going to be one of those calorie obsesed people, I just quit smokeing , I do not need to obsese about something new. Anyway, I thought I better know where I'm at, at least, just a gadge, but some things conserned me.
#1 deit soda is counted as if it's water, I know when I was on Jenny creg years ago, they said it was bad to have more then one a day due to the effect it has with helping retain water weight.
#2 ok, now I'm a big girl obviously, (I have to start admiting this to myself for real) .... I'M soooo confused.... I told you all that I have battled with actually eating, in the last few months I have forced myself to eat three meals a day. And even encouraged myself to have snacks. Something I couldn't do, or at least wouldn't think about. (I think just to busy with the kids?) Ok, so yesterday, all I did different with my eating is, had one soda with dinner (didn't even finish it, don't know why), and I didn't have a late night snack.
So on the sight I put in everything I ate in the day, which to me looked like a whole lot. I had a healthy helping of pasta last night with meat sause. Ok so my total caloric intake, around 1800....
Now I'm concerned... For the weight I have on me, wouldn't it take more then that to sustain my weight? ON avarage, before I started here a couple days ago I probably was at just under 2000 calories a day.
I'm just wondering what I should do? Is it just a matter of excercising for me? Do you think my body really has been thinking it's been starving all of these years, cause before 4 months ago, I was only eating like one meal a day, but drinking a lot of soda, and coffe....
I don't know, I'm just trying to figure out what my problem actually is, so I can solve it. I think drasticly cuting more caloris, would be a bad idea in my sitch, am I wrong?
--------------------------
Mini update,
*Drinking water all day
*working out in ten minute intervules (all I can do sustained right now) multiple times a day
*in general trying to move around more
I have a stair climber thing, and also a stationary bike that were just dust colecters untill now. I can NOT do long intervules of this, 5 min each and my legs are shakeing... (should I push harder?)
I'm allso using little weights, and doing the weight lifting for like 10 min.. Not sure what that will do, but my arms have a major wadle on them, and I figure something is better then nothing, I hope!
So as you see I'm a bit confused, any words of insight or wisdom is wounderful, I need to understand what my problem is, allso don't mind getting kicked in the butt, if I'm doing something wrong. I'm clay mold me! (into a thinner me, lol)

I drink a couple drinks of Zero cola a day and sometimes one cola ..
Technically peeps says you are not supposed to drink it, but I do it because I dont want to binge later .. I stop drinking it for three to four weeks and than by one or two bottles and drink them and than stop for another three to four weeks ..I would say one cup or two cups of diet coke should be fine ..but no more .. I am going to be cutting it out a little more myself .. I have only had one cup today and thats going to be it ..
as far as obsessing over calories .. I dont count the calories either lol I just dont ..am not able to .. I am reading a food addict book and it says you can eat most things, but in moderation ..
I binge ..which I am having a hard time stopping ..but I am just need to eat three meals a day and some snacks and I wont binge ..
but I would definitely make sure you eat three meals a day and if you want snacks ...
the reason being ..that yes your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will move slower .. if you read the sticky threads they will give you a lot ..and I mean a lot of info about all this ...
but any other questions ..just shoot them our way and we might be able to answer ...
So eat and yes exercise would be good ..and your doing great! I started with just walking for ten minutes outside ..its all I could do and eventually I got used to it and pushed it five minutes high and than another five mintues and so forth ..
I have just started walking again and I walk most days twenty minutes ...
but I am trying to increase it to 25 minutes and by April or before ..to thirty minutes ... its tuff to get motivation once in a while ..
best wishes hun
and your doing good ..we all start at a hard part on the exercise ... but just keep building slowly so you dont hurt yourself ..when you feel comfortable ... build another five minutes ..k

Thank you for all you said. You really touched me....
Having 5 kids is super great, I wouldn't change anything! It's pritty funny though when you go shoping with half a baseball team, the looks you get. Everyone invishions, lord of the flies mintality in the home, when guests come over they are allways so suprised, it's not like that. I think there is more order with numbers, because there has to be. Gosh about 5-6 years ago it was totally like you discribed, everyone climbing all over you. That was great, that time period allso was toatally crazy amount of work. You don't think about it during the time, but looking back you wonder how you survived!LOL... It's worth it though, my kids, are 7,8,9,14, and 15 now. I don't get climbed on anymore, but they still sqwash me from time to time, even my 15 year old baby will sit on my lap and get her snugles in, when she's in the mood of course, lol...Haveing kids is not all roses and lolipops, as long as your relistic with your expectations of being a parent, and relize your raiseing future adults, real people, and there will be days when they learn to talk that they will tell you they hate you (when they get mad), lol, then everything will work, and be great!
You should get down to at least 150, before even thinking about it though, cause you don't know how your body will react once it gets pregnant. I never gained less then 50lbs with each pregnancy! A couple I gained 70! You loose like 20 to 25 lbs right away after a baby is born but the rest stays on you unless you get it off...... My hardest pregnancy was my last childs, when I was allmost 300lbs, and I still had to clean the whole house, take care of a 1 year old, 2 year old, and my then 7 and 8 year old. When I was pregnant I was hungery, and did eat what ever I wanted, and my body hung on to everything... So just be sure you loose enough weight, and watch what you eat when you do get pregnant, since like me there is a tendincy to gain.... (just so you don't have to go threw what I did)
I'm so happy I found this place, you all are great! |

I think we were posting at the same time, lol...
Thanks for the info, yeah I need to check out the other threads etc... Some stuff I knew but just didn't put into practice ya know.
I'm just really trying to figure out if my main problem is that my matabolisum got so low over the years of not eating enough calories.. I need to know how to reverse this.... Should I stay were I am with the calories? and just work out.... Do I need to eat less? I just want some of this tweeked, so I can know what to do, from this starting point. I don't want to count calories, but I think it was really benifishial to see where I'm at, I would have totaly thought more then that...
You are a sweet heart, thank you for your support and info! |

Wolf Spiders are horrible. The biggest one I've ever seen reminded me of a Tarantula and I was so freaked out by it that I started to cry and my mom had to go get a neighbor from down the street to come kill it for us. I'm unsure if they are poisionus but I do know that the Female ones carry their babies on her back. So, when you kill a Female Wolf Spider you can see all the babies scatter everywhere (or so I've been told by numerous people).
If you wanna see what they look like, go to Wikipedia and type in Wolf Spider. They have a few nasty pictures of them... Eeewww...
So, there is our Arachnology lesson for the day. |
