I want to be 263.2 by October seventh, I put that down in January or February on the Birthday Challenge. ITs kind of funny! So if I lose two pounds per month I will lose ten pounds by the time I get to October and I will be at the goal weight I set up for myself in the challenge. So I am trying to be reasonable with myself, I would love to lose four pounds in one month, thats the most I have ever lost in one month. Lost one pounds per week. I would absolutely love to do that, but in the month of April I only lost 2.8 pounds, I guess at least its a loss, I have to keep it off and lose at least another two pounds in May...
so here is to another month full of Happy times!!
Cheers!
I cant wait till they set up the May 2 pound challege.

hugs | Those are good goals Nataliejo and you will do it
I have to push myself a little hard and get into the groove that is why i am aiming for 2 lbs a week...I am thinking of doing this treadmill thing for the rest of may and incorporating the elliptical in june I am too fat now!! For the past 2 days i noticed i am in the habit of holding my waist as if i am pregnant....not good!! Starting now I will try to break these habits by being good for a whole month. I know I can do this and I know u can too |

Rep Power: 7 | | I eat lasagna at least once a week. Why do you veiw that as a mess up, you didn't eat like half a tray right? And every once and a while fast food is ok, I mean, what we are going to avoid it our whole lives, uhh no.. So I see no mess ups here. You have to figure out what works for you, and what you want to do.
I'm choosing not to diet, and that means I'm choosing to count calories. I am really pushing this with you guys and I know its anoying. I'm makeing my mom do this too, and I'm trying to get my sister to do it.
It's just really freeing. You know your not over eating, or UNDER eating. I even eat pizza on the weekends, and ice cream!
Stop beating yourselves up guys! We are all here and everyones doing great! This is a life change, you have to be able to have normal foods you love. So since I'm not dieting and I want to eat normal foods I love, I had to learn how I can make that happen. Puting my foods in a free program online, and haveing it total it up as I put it in, is the easiest thing I could do, to get the results and control that I have with this weight loss. It's crazy...
I just want to see you guys, feel as physiced as I do, we don't have to deprive ourselves, or beat ourselves up! |

Rep Power: 9 | | Thanks for the pep talk Hope I understand what you are saying ...I did not really think of it as beating myself up, but I am F A T I just gained 7 lbs and I am walking like I am pregnant sooo I need to lose weight. For me this is a lifestyle change as well, and I want to eliminate fast food from my diet for health reasons. The lasagna ehhh not too bad every once in a while but fast food is a definite no and cheating everyday will not get me where I need to be. I cannot do the counting calories thing so I need to be more disciplined in what I eat....which should not be difficult riiiiiight..... I truly believe that you have to give yourself allowances, ice cream every so often, chocolate every so often, so I agree with you there.
Thank you so much for caring about me Hope It really means a lot to me I'm psyched believe me...but I have to deprive myself of unhealthy things like fast food...its really damaging and has like zero nutritional value...well besides carbs and fat remember that dude from Supersize me was about to have liver failure!! (or something like that...I forget )
Have a great day tomorrow everyone!! |

I tend to lose a couple pounds and stay there for a few weeks (I need to get mentally adjusted, I think), but lately it's seemed like no matter what I do I'm stuck. So I looked at everything I was eating and everything I was doing and decided to focus on my aerobic activity and portion control (incl. not eating when I'm not hungry, like right after dinner...). That's helping.
Also, about the Hula Hoop, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wooo! I tried in college and I think I got 4 once. Yayyyy!!!! |

Rep Power: 8 | | Oh, and I really do appreciate everyone being so supportive here. This is the best thread I've encountered anywhere. Y'all are wonderful to me and each other and it's nice to see that be the trend and not the exception.
Oh, and I'm on the couch to 5k thread, where the tickers are like ... 10 pounds...HAHAHAHAHA. I literally laughed until I cried on that one. 10 frickin pounds. LOL
Oh, maybe that's just me. Oh, and sorry if I offended anybody by typing frickin.
So here is my Zen comment: You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
(Not exactly Zen, but they were to hard for me to understand). Have fun today everybody!! |

Yeah I mean I agree with eating healtheir, I totaly am to. I didn't have a lot of fast food in my diet before anyway, so if this is something that is a habit, I totaly understand cutting it out. Moderation sometimes with things that are really embeded habits, is self defieting. So I totaly get it. Someday you'll be able to have it once and awhile without, the guilt...
Well, it doesn't hurt to check out the site. Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople. I spend like 5 min a day entering food, it's not like it's time consuming. In case you think it consumes your life. I thought that too, and didn't want to be a calroie counting freak, but it's what is recomended on this site, and it's really not hard. Ok, (steping of my soap box ) Everyone has to find out what works for them!!!! I never saw Supersize me but I heard the buzz about it all over the news... Creepy, we really do have that mintality as a society, and I've found that the hardest part to change. What I think is a porition size, is really really different than the truth! I am tweeking my ideas, and I'm sure as the weight goes down my perseption of a portion will too. It's scary though.
And allthough my kids are in no way even close to be overweight. I allways put to much on there plates, and they never finish there dinner. I should moniter this, because vishually I might be sending the wrong message? As a kid I was tought it was rude not to clear your plate and I got the whole, there are starving kids in africa guilt trip. So once apon a time I would help the kids clear there plates out of guilt of wast aswell... I must have had age on my side because I didn't gain weight when I was not pregnant (the few years I wasn't, lol), that did not mean that I made good choices, or had good habits... As I got older (being a relitive term, I'll be 30 in August) my habits stayed the same, but my body changed what it was doing with it. I don't want to "give" this idea about food to my children, and have my daughters, repeat my mistakes as adults when our bodies aren't as "forgiving". (You know I really apricate you bringing up what you did, I wouldn't have looked at this otherwise)
I'm really glad you are taking positive steps in your life!!!!!

You will be the hola hoop queen in no time! Graduation , woo hoo, that's exciting! Hope your taking a car home, I'd like to see you check the hola hoop on an air plane, lol...
spartacus,
I have that same quote on my buliten board, I love it! It's so true! Yeah I think we are a really great bunch too, I'm not sure if all the other clubs are like this. I've peeked into a couple where yeah it's like 10 or 20lbs, and I had a similar reaction as you. But at the same time I heard that's the hardest to loose, so we may be crying like babies when we can't get the last few off.... J/K, I'll be dancing for joy that that's all I'm carrying! 10lbs of extra fat, means your not a stick figure!!! Soft curvy fit body, uh yeah that's what I'm shooting for, which is why im trying to hit 140, and not the sugested 120 or 130 for my height! I don't want to be a size 2! Shoot at 13 I was a 5! With a high C cup!!!!
Well guys I don't know how this is happening but I droped another pound, so that's like three for this week. I've actually been exercizeing a bit less this week, and Aunt flow is visiting, which means I should be caring around about 2-5 lbs of extra water... So I have no idea what the heck is going on! That's fine I'm happy, I guess my mitabolizum is actually working now, which is shocking to me, because I've never been normal with hormones, or matabolizem since I was prego so young, and my issues with eating, and not eating etc... So this is great but weird. So teqnicly I might see a big drop when my bloat goes away sometime next week.... Kinda freeking me out. If this keeps up I may have to increase my calories by 200 to slow it a bit, I do not want to end up with a lot of hangy skin! |

Rep Power: 8 | | Spark it up people! LoL. I find that site quite helpful. And Hope is right. It does let you eat real food. I'm somewhat excited about it, most of the items it came up with for my mealplan is stuff that I would normally eat. It just portiones it for you and tells you what you can have seconds for.
Anyway, Tom is being nice to you this week Hope, lets hope when he comes to visit me he's just as nice. LoL.
Anyway, the May 2 pound challenge is up now Natalie, I'm on it, so we can be one another's cheerleaders.
Hmmm... I think that's what I like best about this site, everyone in this thread is one another's cheerleaders / counslers / friend. It just amazes me how we can all be from different parts of the country, different countries, and different age ranges and all still be good friends. Yeah, it's on the internet, but I find myself talking to you all about stuff I dont include my friends on.
So, good luck everyone this month. May we all lose more weight, lose the weight we gained due to unforseen circumstances, and keep on truckin to get healthy! |

Someday you'll be able to have it once and awhile without, the guilt... | Yep this is me...my biggest problem is I refuse to cook. And even if I do cook I refuse to eat it. It ends up going bad. I eat out all over the place and eat whatever I want when I want and I am a spoiled brat Lately I have been making healthy choices, because not all pre-cooked / restaurant food is bad, and I get kashi cereal for breakfast, then salads, wraps, rice and chicken, chicken and veggies... Stuff like that. I am trying to get myself to cook and eat what I cook. I actually gained all of this weight from eating fast food. I remember when I was 190 and then I started eating fast food every day. I went up to 250 in no time!! I mean in a year or less.
I'm not adverse to being open minded though Hope, and I did not mean to come across like that (if I did ) I will check out the site. I said I cannot count calories because it is just my nature of not liking to make food a type of math Its why I never do good on those support group programs where diaries have to be kept, and you have to talk to some skinny woman that circles the word "croissaint" in your diary like 15 times with a red pen sorry....little flashback there Like you said...different strokes for different folks. Dreamer you will hula your way over this plateau in no time I am sure of it!! |

Yeah, I forgot that they do the meal plan thing for you. I knew I couldn't shop like that, because I have a whole crew to feed, not just me. And 'I' probably couldn't or wouldn't follow something that someone else planed for me. I'm such a non conformist!lol So anyway I clicked the option on there to just let me put in my food I eat. Which for me is way better.
Yeah it's funny about internet friends, I was on a board like this for relationship issues years back and I swear I have life long friends from there, that I talk on the phone with now. A couple have even come to my town for a trip and we've met. The thing about the internet that is soooo cool is that you get right to the "meat" of the person, with a forum like this. In a way that would wouldn't be able to do in person. We might have never ever met in real life, and if we had whose to say we would even start up a conversation? So on here we connect with the "core" of us, or our issues, dreams, goals, and even though it's the internet, in many ways the conection is way more real.. In my opinon, because there is no formalities, hesitation in comunication, fasoads, what have you. In some ways it's more real...
Pink,
"Yep this is me...my biggest problem is I refuse to cook. And even if I do cook I refuse to eat it. It ends up going bad."
Ah man, now that's a problem! Well you don't have to cook fruit or cottage cheese, or bread, sandwitches, cheese, hmmm, you can heat up soup, I think theres some things you can grab to take with you on the run, you busy busy lady!
"I eat out all over the place and eat whatever I want when I want and I am a spoiled brat"
LOL!!! You have to go in time out! Eat your veggies! LOL!
"Lately I have been making healthy choices, because not all pre-cooked / restaurant food is bad, and I get kashi cereal for breakfast, then salads, wraps, rice and chicken, chicken and veggies... Stuff like that. I am trying to get myself to cook and eat what I cook. "
"I actually gained all of this weight from eating fast food. I remember when I was 190 and then I started eating fast food every day. I went up to 250 in no time!! I mean in a year or less."
That is very very scary! I could never afored that habbit! I was spending enough killing my body with cigarets, and I was adicted to starbucks, very fatning whiped toping coffees! Yummm... I think those coffee drinkse every day packed on my pounds these last couple years with the 60lb weight gain, (that I had lost 5 years prior), oh yeah and the fact that I was a sodaholic!
"I'm not adverse to being open minded though Hope, and I did not mean to come across like that (if I did ) I will check out the site. I said I cannot count calories because it is just my nature of not liking to make food a type of math Its why I never do good on those support group programs where diaries have to be kept, and you have to talk to some skinny woman that circles the word "croissaint" in your diary like 15 times with a red pen sorry....little flashback there Like you said...different strokes for different folks."
Holly shit! oh my God you are hillariouse, I have a vishual, of a thin woman wrighting croissaint, in a very frestrated crazy way with red pen, lol... With a little twitch in her eye!lol Hell I couldn't do the support group thing like that either, food isn't bad, I couldn't ever do any of those programs. And the ones that give you their food I think are the worst, like Jenny Creig, yeah you loose weight but then you don't know what the hell to do when you don't eat there pre packaged cardbord crap!lol
I don't think you are closed minded, I think we are a lot a like actually which is why I'm pushing it like a drug.lol... I don't want to think of food as math either! All I do is go on there... Type in oatmeal, fruit, ham, lettuse, hard boaild egg, salad, chicken with rice, coffe, milk, tomatoes, broccali, diet coke, butter, ice cream, what ever I eat in a day, and it tells me if I can have a cookie, or a yogurt and the end of the day. Or it tells me that I need to cut out one more yogurt because I was a bit over. It helps me learn how much my body needs. Anyway, I'm not going to push you, it's just nice to know what gadge your in or for me it was like flying blind. I thought I would hate it, but I don't. I don't even go on it on the weekends, cause I'm learning how much is to much, since I can't really trust myself, can I, I am a fat woman!lol... I'm not going to push it any more, just wanted you to know I do get it, and I'm doing it, and it's not what you are thinking it's like(cause I thought that too)..... I can tell you are open minded, so don't think I think other wise my dear!
Ok, so I ate something last night which was totaly not planed... Dun don DUN! I ATE A BUG! I am offically along with my two brave young sons, and my husband, in the I ate a bug club!lol.... After I picked the kids up last night from his house, my husband called me up and asked if after dinner we would meet him at Mcdonalds for ice cream.(which was great, and we haven't done anything with all of the kids since last summer together (I think ) I said sure! And yes I did have ice cream too! After that we went to the pet store and played with two cute puppies, one was a pug and the other was a syberian husky! And the pet caretaker guy was pushing the I ate a bug club, by putting a wraped chocolate covered grasshopper in my h's hand. After some talking into he ate it! Then my two sons, thought it would be really cool to get the Pin that went along with it, so they ate one, and I thought what the heck, I need to "live a little" and I ATE ONE TOO! UGG! The two big kids, and my youngest wouldn't try it... And the rest of the night we were asking them if we had an anteni in our teeth, lol we are MENTAL!!!!!! |

I haven't seen enough of it to keep up, so I'm always asking who are those people? Are they the real people? Or the scilons? Or the imaginary ghost babies?
