Don't be so hard on yourself. What happens happens and it couldn't have happened any other way because it didn't. All you can do is start over every day. You are not your past.
Just curiouse, do you use a program like sparkpeople.com to keep track of your food, and total your calories? You are alowed to eat, and you can eat quite a lot (of healthy food) and still loose weight, it doesn't have to be torcher. If you aren't, maybe you could give it a trial run. The one tool that is keeping me on track is that program. The exercise doesn't get in everyday in the way I would like, I move way more then I was, and I exercise way more then I did (which as never ), but keeping track of my food is really great.
It sounds dumb, like you aren't going to enjoy your food etc. But that's not true, I enjoy my food way more, because I don't have to feel guilty. Even when I'm eating pizza, or haveing icecream. Because I know how many calories my body needs to eat to loose at a healthy rate. If you don't do this, and you need someone to figure this out for you, just let me know. I've already figured it out for like 4 other people in my life, and a couple people on the site that wanted quick help. Anyway, it might be something to really keep your motivation up.
Any tips, or anything you think we can help you with, PLEASE just ask, even if it's emotional stuff ok. We are here for eachother, and this will work. You can't fail at something if you are commited. If your commited, then weather ups or downs you will see it through!!! We are commited to you!Shoot you already lost so much weight, you know what to do, I'm sure you could teach us a couple tricks!
Well this new guy sounds like a real keeper, I hope everything turns out great!!!!

Watch your salt so you don't retain any more water at least what you can control, and drink a lot of water during the day, and don't worry so much. I don't think weight packs on that fast with meds, I think it takes a long time, and anyway it's not the medican that makes you gain. It's that it increases your apitite, which inturn makes you gain. If you are watching what you eat, etc.. Then I'm sure that gain is not a real gain, and I wouldn't weigh yourself again untill the bloat is gone... But that's just me... Yeah for staying in control!!! And loosing another pound!!!!!!! GO PINK GO!!!! | Hi Hope I was doing good but yesterday i had a little lasagna for dinner and fast food for lunch today ... oyyy but I am determined to stop this. I got in 30 mins on the treadmill this morning and am hoping to do 1 hr tomorrow...I woke up too late so I was rushing for work today. I think you are right and maybe it is just the bloating...I am puffy everywhere and boy do i feel it!! Congrats on coming down one more pound!!! woooooooohoooooooo

I want to be 263.2 by October seventh, I put that down in January or February on the Birthday Challenge. ITs kind of funny! So if I lose two pounds per month I will lose ten pounds by the time I get to October and I will be at the goal weight I set up for myself in the challenge. So I am trying to be reasonable with myself, I would love to lose four pounds in one month, thats the most I have ever lost in one month. Lost one pounds per week. I would absolutely love to do that, but in the month of April I only lost 2.8 pounds, I guess at least its a loss, I have to keep it off and lose at least another two pounds in May...
so here is to another month full of Happy times!!
Cheers!
I cant wait till they set up the May 2 pound challege.

hugs | Those are good goals Nataliejo and you will do it
I have to push myself a little hard and get into the groove that is why i am aiming for 2 lbs a week...I am thinking of doing this treadmill thing for the rest of may and incorporating the elliptical in june I am too fat now!! For the past 2 days i noticed i am in the habit of holding my waist as if i am pregnant....not good!! Starting now I will try to break these habits by being good for a whole month. I know I can do this and I know u can too

Rep Power: 2580 | | | I eat lasagna at least once a week. Why do you veiw that as a mess up, you didn't eat like half a tray right? And every once and a while fast food is ok, I mean, what we are going to avoid it our whole lives, uhh no.. So I see no mess ups here. You have to figure out what works for you, and what you want to do.
I'm choosing not to diet, and that means I'm choosing to count calories. I am really pushing this with you guys and I know its anoying. I'm makeing my mom do this too, and I'm trying to get my sister to do it.
It's just really freeing. You know your not over eating, or UNDER eating. I even eat pizza on the weekends, and ice cream!
Stop beating yourselves up guys! We are all here and everyones doing great! This is a life change, you have to be able to have normal foods you love. So since I'm not dieting and I want to eat normal foods I love, I had to learn how I can make that happen. Puting my foods in a free program online, and haveing it total it up as I put it in, is the easiest thing I could do, to get the results and control that I have with this weight loss. It's crazy...
I just want to see you guys, feel as physiced as I do, we don't have to deprive ourselves, or beat ourselves up! |

Rep Power: 3939 | | Thanks for the pep talk Hope I understand what you are saying ...I did not really think of it as beating myself up, but I am F A T I just gained 7 lbs and I am walking like I am pregnant sooo I need to lose weight. For me this is a lifestyle change as well, and I want to eliminate fast food from my diet for health reasons. The lasagna ehhh not too bad every once in a while but fast food is a definite no and cheating everyday will not get me where I need to be. I cannot do the counting calories thing so I need to be more disciplined in what I eat....which should not be difficult riiiiiight..... I truly believe that you have to give yourself allowances, ice cream every so often, chocolate every so often, so I agree with you there.
Thank you so much for caring about me Hope It really means a lot to me I'm psyched believe me...but I have to deprive myself of unhealthy things like fast food...its really damaging and has like zero nutritional value...well besides carbs and fat remember that dude from Supersize me was about to have liver failure!! (or something like that...I forget )
Have a great day tomorrow everyone!!

I tend to lose a couple pounds and stay there for a few weeks (I need to get mentally adjusted, I think), but lately it's seemed like no matter what I do I'm stuck. So I looked at everything I was eating and everything I was doing and decided to focus on my aerobic activity and portion control (incl. not eating when I'm not hungry, like right after dinner...). That's helping.
Also, about the Hula Hoop, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wooo! I tried in college and I think I got 4 once. Yayyyy!!!!

Rep Power: 6299 | | | Oh, and I really do appreciate everyone being so supportive here. This is the best thread I've encountered anywhere. Y'all are wonderful to me and each other and it's nice to see that be the trend and not the exception.
Oh, and I'm on the couch to 5k thread, where the tickers are like ... 10 pounds...HAHAHAHAHA. I literally laughed until I cried on that one. 10 frickin pounds. LOL
Oh, maybe that's just me. Oh, and sorry if I offended anybody by typing frickin.
So here is my Zen comment: You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
(Not exactly Zen, but they were to hard for me to understand). Have fun today everybody!!

Yeah I mean I agree with eating healtheir, I totaly am to. I didn't have a lot of fast food in my diet before anyway, so if this is something that is a habit, I totaly understand cutting it out. Moderation sometimes with things that are really embeded habits, is self defieting. So I totaly get it. Someday you'll be able to have it once and awhile without, the guilt...
Well, it doesn't hurt to check out the site. Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople. I spend like 5 min a day entering food, it's not like it's time consuming. In case you think it consumes your life. I thought that too, and didn't want to be a calroie counting freak, but it's what is recomended on this site, and it's really not hard. Ok, (steping of my soap box ) Everyone has to find out what works for them!!!! I never saw Supersize me but I heard the buzz about it all over the news... Creepy, we really do have that mintality as a society, and I've found that the hardest part to change. What I think is a porition size, is really really different than the truth! I am tweeking my ideas, and I'm sure as the weight goes down my perseption of a portion will too. It's scary though.
And allthough my kids are in no way even close to be overweight. I allways put to much on there plates, and they never finish there dinner. I should moniter this, because vishually I might be sending the wrong message? As a kid I was tought it was rude not to clear your plate and I got the whole, there are starving kids in africa guilt trip. So once apon a time I would help the kids clear there plates out of guilt of wast aswell... I must have had age on my side because I didn't gain weight when I was not pregnant (the few years I wasn't, lol), that did not mean that I made good choices, or had good habits... As I got older (being a relitive term, I'll be 30 in August) my habits stayed the same, but my body changed what it was doing with it. I don't want to "give" this idea about food to my children, and have my daughters, repeat my mistakes as adults when our bodies aren't as "forgiving". (You know I really apricate you bringing up what you did, I wouldn't have looked at this otherwise)
I'm really glad you are taking positive steps in your life!!!!!

You will be the hola hoop queen in no time! Graduation , woo hoo, that's exciting! Hope your taking a car home, I'd like to see you check the hola hoop on an air plane, lol...
spartacus,
I have that same quote on my buliten board, I love it! It's so true! Yeah I think we are a really great bunch too, I'm not sure if all the other clubs are like this. I've peeked into a couple where yeah it's like 10 or 20lbs, and I had a similar reaction as you. But at the same time I heard that's the hardest to loose, so we may be crying like babies when we can't get the last few off.... J/K, I'll be dancing for joy that that's all I'm carrying! 10lbs of extra fat, means your not a stick figure!!! Soft curvy fit body, uh yeah that's what I'm shooting for, which is why im trying to hit 140, and not the sugested 120 or 130 for my height! I don't want to be a size 2! Shoot at 13 I was a 5! With a high C cup!!!!
Well guys I don't know how this is happening but I droped another pound, so that's like three for this week. I've actually been exercizeing a bit less this week, and Aunt flow is visiting, which means I should be caring around about 2-5 lbs of extra water... So I have no idea what the heck is going on! That's fine I'm happy, I guess my mitabolizum is actually working now, which is shocking to me, because I've never been normal with hormones, or matabolizem since I was prego so young, and my issues with eating, and not eating etc... So this is great but weird. So teqnicly I might see a big drop when my bloat goes away sometime next week.... Kinda freeking me out. If this keeps up I may have to increase my calories by 200 to slow it a bit, I do not want to end up with a lot of hangy skin! |

Rep Power: 152 | | | Spark it up people! LoL. I find that site quite helpful. And Hope is right. It does let you eat real food. I'm somewhat excited about it, most of the items it came up with for my mealplan is stuff that I would normally eat. It just portiones it for you and tells you what you can have seconds for.
Anyway, Tom is being nice to you this week Hope, lets hope when he comes to visit me he's just as nice. LoL.
Anyway, the May 2 pound challenge is up now Natalie, I'm on it, so we can be one another's cheerleaders.
Hmmm... I think that's what I like best about this site, everyone in this thread is one another's cheerleaders / counslers / friend. It just amazes me how we can all be from different parts of the country, different countries, and different age ranges and all still be good friends. Yeah, it's on the internet, but I find myself talking to you all about stuff I dont include my friends on.
So, good luck everyone this month. May we all lose more weight, lose the weight we gained due to unforseen circumstances, and keep on truckin to get healthy! |
