Since then it's been up and down, but gradually trending down. Generally I lose in the summer but gain some back in the winter. :-(

This spring I started at 228, and lost 10 pounds in the month of April. I was pretty excited, but May hasn't gone so good. I've been bouncing around between 216 and 218 for the last 3 weeks. Discouraging.

What do you guys think about plateaus? Do most of you lose slowly but steadily, or is that just a myth? Even when I'm following my diet faithfully, I can go for 6 weeks without losing anything, then suddenly lose 3-5 pounds in a week. This isn't just the rare occurrence - it's my usual pattern of weight loss. Does this happen to other people or is it just me?
Welcome Sharoo I see you are on your way to crossing out of the 200's and into Onderland too cool. They say it is best to lose weight slowly. Depending on the diet that you are on, it is possible to see a greater loss in the first month because of the loss of water weight. Do not worry, just keep doing what you are doing and even if it is coming off slowly, it is still coming off so it is something to be happy about. Sometimes I think...If I stuck to weight loss all of the times I said I would I would have been so slim by now, so even if the weight is coming off slow now, I am not stopping or getting discouraged. In the future I know I will thank myself for sticking through this. So happy to having you with us. You will like it here, its a pretty neat bunch Sorry for the late reply BTW! I have not been online for a few days.

Does anyone here have to deal with migraines? OMG they are evil!!! If you believe in the devil....trust me they are from him/her! I have been having my first one since Thursday...well not my first one, but my first one with a headache. I even went to the doctor because it is not like a headache but a sharp intense pain in one area...I mean soooooo intense I thought a vein or something was on the verge of bursting. Before I was having what is called acephalgic migraine which is where I cannot see really because of these flashing light type things...they call them auras, specifically scintillating scotoma. I did not even know that this was a migraine because there was no pain. I have been having it on occasion for years now, but thought it was just some freaky vision thing that no one could explain because my sugar levels are fine and my eyes are in "perfect health." So sorry if i have been away, I have been fighting the forces of EVIIIILLLLL.

OMG! So tonight Sean and I are going out on a date. I feel like such a girl cuz I've been thinking about what to wear, how to do my hair, and all that stuff. I'm so excited. I got to know more about him today. He's the same age as myself. 5'11 White Male from Texas. He has grey eyes. He is super sweet. Came here for College and blah blah.

His contracting job ended last night, so I wont be seeing him at work anymore. I knew this would happen... As soon as I went up to the area I worked in to grab something, him and his crew left, and what's cute is that I got a missed call on my phone that said he was sorry that he left without saying goodbye and that he's really looking forward to getting to know me.
It might not be as cute to you as it is to me but I think it was cute.

Eh, what sucks is that for our date I have to meet him somewhere. He was insistant on driving down to my place to pick me up, but it's way too far. We live like 50 miles apart. Plus, driving to my house means we'd have to drive 20 miles back into town if we wanna do someting other than go grocery shopping. LoL. My job is like halfway between my house and his so I think we are meeting somewhere by my work.

OMG... I'm so nervous. He asked me what I like to do, I was unsure of what to say, there is so much stuff I haven't done before and yeah, so I told him I was down with anything and that if he didn't mind he should pick. I'm like that though, I'm the person who wants to do what you want to do. Heck, my coworker Rob gets upset because I always make him pick where to eat lunch and even when I say I will pick I somehow find a way for him to choose. I was wondering, is being slightly inidecisive a bad thing? Like I said, I'm always up for trying new things, so I really dont know what I like to do.

Okay, I'll stop babiling on like a little school girl. It's just I really have no one to tell other than my WLF Peeps!

Veronica
Veronica, Congrats.. you sound so excited! I am so happy for you! Enjoy hun, totally enjoy!

love yas

Though I was over my maintenance level in calories today which makes me sad ... but omg, my work pants are huge on me! I need to buy a new pair already! I'm going to stick with one new pair a month or something, lol... if I need to buy them that often!! I'll check back tomorrow when I have more time to get caught up with the thread! Night...

About the slim part Pink Clouds, sometimes I wonder if my mother and sisters and I had stayed living in NYC, would I have kept the weight off? Its just one of those things I was wondering to myself last night lol how odd... I probably would have stayed thin. My father is shocked at how much I weigh, but soon enough I will be thinner and have a great figure. I used to be stick thin ...

and as far as the migraines. I used to get them all the time. I used to put a face cloth on my forehead and just try to lye down and chill ...

could they be stress head aches?

I'm pretty sure the number one was that it doesn't solve all your problems.

It could well be that now that she's at goal, a lot of her life is still the same and she's unhappy with that. Or, it could be that she got used to the attention she received from people during weight loss and now that attention has died down, so she's jealous of the people who are getting it now. If that one's true, I sure wouldn't want to be around her after a wedding or pregnancy.

Great job on the weight loss, btw!!

(And that frame of thought weirds me out. When I can shop for clothes anywhere, the rest of the world will be eclipsed by my happiness, at least until I realize I still can't afford them...)

Actually you just reminded me hun, not all my problems will be solved by becoming thinner. I keep thinking thinner will solve all my problems, but I guess it won't hmm.. I wish it did lol but I have a lot of issues ...

and as far as that woman ..could be...

How are you Spartacus?

Plateaus suck! I can totally understand. They will become more prevailant the lower you go ... thats what I have heard, but dont lost hope, just keep trecking ...maybe change up your routine... increase your exercise ...

good luck hun and Welcome!

nat!! It's great to see you back!

I'm mostly the same, just jogging (I know about that back thing...I keep trying to blame it on packing and lugging boxes around but I know what it's really from) and trying not to gain weight.

I mean lose weight. whoops!!

Some pants finally got loose! Yay!

I've lost 15 pounds and there has been no noticeable difference in my body. Where the heck did it come from? My brain?

Really, here is my guess. When I'm not losing weight (as in overall), my body compacts itself. Even the fat is less wiggly. As I start to get in weight losing mode, though, I'm super dooper wiggly! I think that's why the weight loss and measurements don't always jive. Does this happen to anyone else.

Because if it does, we need to celebrate our wiggliness!!

Oh, maybe those beers will make it go away...
