I work out at curves, so I have all 40+ women. There are some who at like 80+. It is crazy. I am only 24 and so I am quite a bit younger. They tell stories about their kids and knitting and grand kids and such. It makes me laugh and I always come home to tell my husband "amazing" stories that they tell. I am pretty sure that some of them only come to socialize. I always look at them though and think that if they can do it then so can I.

Just a hello to all from a New 'Oldie'

Hi All,
I'm new to this site, this technology, and to this refreshing idea of sharing my weight loss heartaches and 'successes' but unfortunately not new at trying to get heathly and lose weight. As I read all of your comments I am so impressed by both your openness and encouraging comments. As a long time yo-yo dieter I'm jumping on the wagon again. My first hurdle was to quit smoking and had my last smoke 3 weeks ago, now it's time to take on this 235lbs on a 5'4" frame.

Everyone seems to have gone missing for a bit...oh well we are back now

Not been on my best behavious lately and have had a 3lb gain Not the best but never mind it is totally my own fault.. a combination of the first week of the summer hols and my birthday...hopefully it will all fall back into place and i will start seeing some losses again!

Think i got a bit complacent as i am now into a uk size 16 - which means i can buy clothes in pretty much any shop (something i couldnt do before). But now i wanna get smaller!!!! Size 14 here i come!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Everyone!

Well, I'm glad to hear everyone is doing so well!

As for me, I went on vacation last month and gained back some of the weight I loss, and I still haven't been able to get it off.

So today, me and Sean, joined LA Fitness together. So, here I come people, ready to drive my behind to a gym and start working out. I dont have money for a P.T. this time, so I'm going to have to look up stuff on the internet on what to do at a gym. Otherwise, I'd just spend all my time on the Elliptical Crosstrainer or Tredmill.

It's pretty cool. The guy gave us a 4th of July Family Plan Special and it was only 50$ each to sign up (normally it would have been like 100+$ to sign up) and 25$ each month (which is like 14$ less than normal). Got access to any LA Fitness in all of AZ. Which works out good cuz the one we signed up at is near his place in Northern Phoenix and I'm 40 miles down from him.

Yeah, I'm totally excited about the gym membership. I just gotta pack a bag full of my stuff and stick it in the car, so that my workout clothes are always with me.

Hopefully with this gym membership, the weight will start comming off again and a bit more successfully. I'm totally ready to update my wardrobe with smaller sizes.

Anyway, hope all of you are doing great!

Veronica

Hey everyone! I've been absent for like 3 months now but I'm sooooo glad to be back. I absolutely need to start working out again. My office job is catching up with me and all the snack foods people bring. My boyfriend and I moved into our new house about 3 weeks ago after a very long process. I didn't have internet for about 2 months so that was the majority of why I was gone.

Our new house is less than 1 mile from Ballys. I've been trying to decide between LA Fitness and Ballys for a bit now. Being so close and being almost $10 cheaper a month sealed the deal and i'm going to Bally's tonight when my boyfriend gets off work to sign up.

It is SO HARD living with someone who does not eat healthy. Also, having to get up for work at 4 am and getting off at 5 pm doesn't make you feel all the excited to work out. But tomorrow marks the start of it all.

My friend called today to tell me the exact date of her wedding and I'm a bridesmaid. I have until April 2009 to loose at least 80 lbs. Think its do-able?

April Wedding!

You have 38 weeks until the first week of April, assuming you start this week.
That's about a 2 pound loss per week, maybe a bit more if you want to be slimmer for those first fittings.
So, yeah, I think so! Good luck!!

Maybe setting mini goals along the way would help, too, eh?

Hey everyone! I also new to this site. Im motivated, but I need that extra support that I don't get from home. Im 235 and Ive lost 5lbs so far. I lost 9 lbs at one point but I gained the 4lbs back . It's something about the 10 lbs loss that always makes me gain it all back. Once I get to 10 lbs, I can never lose anymore. Ive been on weight watcher 3 times and it's the same thing, 10 lbs lost, 10 lbs gained. That's why im here. Hopefully I can get support and information that I need to get from a 10lbs loss, to an 80 lbs loss! Thanks!

Guess I'm part of this club now since this week, after 2 and a half months of hard work, that first number changed from a 3 to a 2! Still have a ton to go obviously, but I've made a promise to myself and plenty of those around me that I will NEVER SEE THAT 3 AGAIN. Don't take this the wrong way, but here's to losing the next 99 and wishing this club farewell!
