Rep Power: 70 | | Thanks, Nataliejo. I think you're right. It's learning to enjoy things in moderation (though I speak as someone who's just eaten a rather large bowl of spaghetti Bolognese). However, it was pretty lean, tomorrow is another day and I'm not going to weigh in until Wednesday, so I still have time to put things right.
Like a lot of you, I tend to graze as well. Because I work from home at a computer, I find when I'm bored, or finding a job difficult, I give myself a little break which, if I'm good, is just a cup of tea or coffee - but can often be more. I've taken to making myself bowls of sugar-free jelly (jello?) as a snack, which is working at the minute. I imagine I could go off it pretty quick, though!

Pink I know you can make it out of the 270 range the weight might be fluctuating but it's going to come off. | Welcome LadyUmbra!!! I have not seen you on this thread before, I think it was maybe another thread that you were on. I tried to revive the old threads before this one came along. So you are fresh and new here like the rest of us!! A fresh new start on an old battle. This time we will win! I am sureof it!! Thank you for the encouragement on the 270 range. This morning I was 274.2.... I try not to look at the points so I do not become obsessed, but i was looking at this .2 and thinking how utterly evil it is LOL I am confident you can get out of the 240 range as well! You are already 2 lbs closer!! I cannot wait to see how you do on sunday:-) I am sure I will be 275 tomorrow. I feel like I am getting sick today and whenever that happens I go up the next day... who am i kidding!! I cheated a little today and i think that combined with this first day of sickness thing will raise it. but enough about me
LadyUmbra here's to 239.9!!
Welcome to the thread Cerella ...Cerella is like the name of a luxurious goddess drinking the silver wine of life from a diamond goblet while zapping muscular men on the earth with lightning from her index finger In other words...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I also think Cinderelly is sooo cute and it fits your smile :-) (your real smile from the avi that you had before) So i may use both if its okay with you. You're not far off from Onederland now and I know that you can make it!! A single mom with two children who is still losing weight!! Onederland better watch out for you KEVIIIIIIII WOOOOOOOOOOOO you are doing so well!! Congratulations on your weight loss!! I am sooo happy to hear about it :-D Quote: |

Good luck getting out of the 270s, Pink Clouds - I recommend home-made vegetable soup (butternut squash and carrot's good). I've been having it for lunch all week, and it's gorgeous. I give myself a nice big bowl of it, too! | I will try it Popcorn...the sad thing is I have never made soup before unless it was pre-made in a can...how sad. But I will give it a try it sounds scrumptious!! The whole stones things really interests me but I can never understand the concept of it because its always explained as 14 pounds and I cannot see how one who is better acquainted with the metric system can identify weight in pounds comfortably. 14 pounds converted is 6.3 Kg so I wonder like how did they invent this stone? How many exact Kg is a stone? Do you know how they came about making this measurement? Sorry to bore you with something so simple...it is probably the same as asking why is 8oz. a cup...but I am so intrigued by this. I even tried to google it but i just get rocks LOL I would love to track your loss in stones with you lol maybe soon I will be talking in stones as well. Ali thanks for understanding my plight! I do not think you are being whiny at all LOL but maybe I am..I talk about the 270s in almost every post!! Quote: |

or Bring on Spring . | You should start it up Nataliejo!! I would join. It would be cool to correlate weight loss to seasons!! We could have Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter...Heck I might even sport an avi with the season in chinese writing...The earth of spring...The fire of summer...The wind of autumn...the ice of winter. I know Ice is not an element but I don't think the water of winter is very fitting, well unless you're from Florida or somewhere tropical. Ohhh and by the way.... Quote: |

Stones are just an old imperial measurement - it seems illogical when you've used metric all your life, but when you've grown up describing your weight as, say, nine stone two (I wish!), it is a bit confusing hearing weight given in a mass of pounds. Wiki describes the background better than I can – it's just a bit of a UK anachronism, really.
I really recommend making soup. I saw a programme that ran an experiment that demonstrated that if you gave someone a plate of food and a glass of water, and then another person the same food and water, cooked and pureed to make a soup - the soup kept the person more 'full' for longer. The great thing about soup is you can cook up any old veg, some stock (cubes are fine), and whiz it up in the blender and it always tastes better than the sum of its parts. I always start off by frying some onion, and often add a potato to give a velvety texture - everything else is pretty low in calories.

Rep Power: 3939 | | POPCORNNNNnnnnnnnnnn Thank you so much!! So I am 19 stone 8 You've created a monster Now that I understand it, I'm going to be using it!! It is easier for me to understand than Kg that's for sure!! All this talk of soup has completely enticed me!! I am going to get some today...minestrone. And yes still in a can... I am a bit under the weather today and lazy as usual. But I am planning on making my first pot of soup next weekend. maybe potato carrot soup with butternut sqash (this emoticon grosses me out a bit)
You know how we talked about diets before and the restriction? Last night I was thinking about salads because on the diet I was on, there are certain vegetables I cannot have and nuts are a no no. But now that I am free, I am going to make my favorite salad :-D Are you ready for this LOL...Iceberg or Romaine lettuce with beets (precooked and sliced no salt or sugar added), walnuts and raisins. I'm a weird one, am I not I love this and I do not use dressing for it. Ahhhh the freedom
(I just proofread this...horrendous sentence structure ;-)) Cerella, I am so shocked. I was going to say "Greek" goddess, but I actually never heard of Cerella in my studies and that is why I did not say it. Soooo wild...I feel somehow psychic I really did not know it was the name of a goddess. I totally think you can live up to it, especially the zapping Somedays I like to think of myself as a goddess and I do my fair share of zapping.
Hi Kevi Here's what I normally do (well for the past week) when I am not sneaking in forbidden snacks:
Breakfast: Kashi Heart to Heart cereal and 2% reduced fat milk (for some reason I do not like whole milk)
Lunch: Chicken Salad
Dinner: Chicken and Vegetables
I like to snack on raw stringbeans as well. I'll keep you posted on what I eat this week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit
Guess what everybody...I just checked and I am 273 WOOOOOooooohooooooo 19 and 7 stone 1 pound closer to being out of the 270's !!!!

Rep Power: 1318 | | Happy Sunday all!
Haven't posted in awhile because I haven't had much to post. I was sick for a couple days last week so I missed a couple days of exercise, but made sure I got right back into the routine, the first day I was feeling better I went to Y and walked laps at my own pace.
Got on the scale yesterday and I'm down 3 pounds...course that could be because I didn't eat much last week and what I did eat...umm, didn't stay with me. We'll see what I'm at when I weigh in on my official weigh in day on Monday. I'd love it if I was still there. I'd be at 213 and all the closer to my first big goal!
I think, most importantly, I feel good I feel good emotionally, physically, I just feel good about myself. I know I have a ways to go, but I am getting compliments about my progress and I can see some of the progress. My gams are looking hawt!

Rep Power: 3939 | | Ouch Kevi!! I am so sorry to hear it I hope you feel better. I ripped some tendons in my ankle when I was younger and it was so bad I had to get a cast. So I know how painful it can be. But don't worry, just give yourself time to heal and take it easy for a little while after u are better. LadyUmBRA Congratulations on the weight loss! I totally think u can do it!! You will be out of the 240's and I will be out of the 270's by next week!! 2 toasts to that!
