Try throwing in bursts of intensity when you are walking onj your teadmill - get your heart rate up, jogging for 30 seconds is perfect - you know until you can feel the burn.. then you can walk again for another 2 minutes. Then run for 30 seconds. Walk 2 minutes. By doing it like that you will burn more fat.

Well, you can eat less but you have to take into consideration what you STILL eating. You don't necessarily have to eat LESS maybe you have to eat less of what is making you gain the weight. So knowing WHAT you're eating is important.

There are a lot of things you can do with your treadmill. Like elizabeth mentioned you can do intervals. You said you were doing an hour's worth on it. Is it an hour's worth of walking, jogging a combo?
If you're walking and prefer to walk just make sure you check your intensity. If you're doing it for an hour you should be working up a good sweat. If you're jogging and lasting an hour you're doing well.
If you're doing both then just timing your intervals would make the workout more effecient.

i'M SO sorry - I forgot you wrote that .. that's cool, mine was 31 when I first started but I've already brought it down to 29 - you can do that too! You should start yourself a diary so that you can log what you're eating and how much you're exercising. There's man different little changes you can make that will help you lose that weight faster (drink lots of water, eat less than 30g of fat per day - eat high protein foods - lots of fruits and veggies - weight training, as muscle burns more energy than fat, etc. ) Check out the internet for some more tips.. You're doing great though.

Should I get on the scale every 7 days?
I also want to take some diet pills.
What kind should I take like, Hydroxycut Ephedrine free?

Hmmmm...well, a lot of people take diet pills..I'm big on NOT taking diet pills. To make a long story short, diet pills don't help you KEEP the weight off and in the long run it will come back. The key is to teach your body a new lifestyle and understanding the basics behind nutrition and fitness...so that a healthy lifestyle becomes second nature.

As far as weight and where you should be, I would concentrate more on how you FEEL, what your doc recommends etc.
GOOD LUCK! =)

I always work out after I eat. I've move up to 2 hours! from 1 hour 30 mins, I do it while I'm watching the news LOL. and stop eating at around 5 or 7 o'clock. and drink like 2 liters of water. I want to lose 50 pounds in 4 months. For a family reunion, the last one I went to was bad, because everyone kept on making fun of me because of all the weight I've gain. I don't think I'll make it, but I'm trying anyway!

UPDATE
working out also curbs my appetite!

Hi marquita188

Just a little advice:

Please understand that the key to losing weight fast is by increasing your metabolism to burn fat. I read about how you are eating less and exercising more; unfortunately this is not good because you are slowing down your metabolism. You should eat at least 5 small meals a day; and the fact that you are exercising more means that you should increase your calorie intake. In order for your metabolism to function properly you must feed it. If you don't feed your body the energy that it needs, your body will break down protein in your muscles for energy. This is not good because you will lose muscle tissue which will lead to a slower metabolism, causing your body to store more fat instead of burning it. Also, when your body breaks down your muscle tissues it will cause you to lose a large amount of water. In other words, the weight that you would be losing will be water weight not fat. Not only is this unhealthy, but it is temporary, and you will gain the weight back.

I agree with kzplano about the diet pills.

As far as weighing yourself every 7 days-You will get discouraged if you do this. I say that because you could lose 4 pounds in two weeks, this might not seem like much, but you could have lost an inch off of your wastline which is a great accomplishment. What I'm trying to say is that the scale doesn't matter and it is an inacurate record of how much fat you are burning. Instead of weighing yourself, use a measering tape to measure yourself- you will be much more happier with the results. I know that you want to lose 50 pounds, so if you were to weight yourself do it once a month. Also, if you lose more than 3 pounds a week, more than likely it is water not fat.

I also want to incourage you to lift weights so that you will tone and firm up your body for good definition. You don't have to lift anything heavy; five pounds is enough to start with.

hope this helps.

UPDATE:

I'm losing weight in my legs, arms, everywhere else, BUT my belly.....
I read somewhere that it's the last place people lose at.
If I didn't have that darn belly fat I could fit into my old pairs of pants.

Hey Marquita! I read some of your threads and the others who replied and I do agree with them but I also have an opinion about all of your questions.. Well for me I lost 60 pounds within 8 months, but I was doing it slowly and this was from May 2004 until Jan 2005.. Shortly after losing and getting in great shape I found out I was pregnant! Which was great because we tried for so long.. Anyhow during my pregnancy I gained 30 pounds, and 10 after.. So I gained 40 back.. I have now dropped 35 of those pounds and almost back where I left off, but still a way to go.. I did take diet pills from my Doctor because he thought it would help me out as long as I was eating right and exercising.. There is nothing wrong with taking diet pills as long as you dont depend on them only for losing weight.. You have to eat right (5 small meals a day) and keep up the exercising you are doing great.. I started back on the Adipex diet pills my Doctor gave me in the past that let me lose 60 pounds and I am doing great.. I know it is not a perminate fix but it does help a little along the way.. About getting picked on for being fat, believe me I have been there, especially when I am around my cousins who I have not seen in a while, even they are grown ups they still seem to act like kids.. So dont let them bother you because in the end you will be the winner, dont let them pull your self esteem down.. You just keep doing what you are with some added advice from everyone and trust me you can make it happen, just look at those people on biggest loser they lose alot within 3 to 4 months time, you can do it!! Best of luck..
