I need help - Big time

Hey,

Quick intro here. I'm 19 and I weigh about 259/260. Near the end of my freshman year in high school I started working out, eating 6 small healthy meals a day and I was losing like 3-5 pounds a week, come September (I started in late March) I was down to around 192 pounds and I looked awesome. Everyone was surprised and amazed, like really happy for me. Like an idiot, I stopped working out and I slowly gained the weight back. Although I was about 250 back then, lol.

Now my question is that since I've graduated high school I'm home all day. I run my own hosting company that earns me a good amount of money per month. But, I'd like to lose weight again because I honestly wish I hadn't stopped working out. In the past 1.5 weeks I've lost about 9 pounds from just eating less. But I don't do any exercise. So I want to know if I go running for 30 minutes a day Monday - Friday with 2-3 sessions of HIIT thrown in there, balanced healthy diet and some resistance exercises, will I be able to lose the weight again?

I know I was drinking at least 2 liters of water back then, but I don't drink much water now. I've quit drinking soda for 5 years now and I can't stand the stuff anymore. I do drink water, but not enough, I like tea without milk or sugar. Primarily with just a slice of lemon sometimes.

I've heard green tea is good for weight loss, how good? Is it better to take an extract capsule or just drink the tea? I like the green tea with jasmine than just plain green tea.

I think what helped me a lot was eating 6 small meals a day, it was hard at first but I was shedding the weight off. I remember 2-3 weeks into it I came home happy and told my mom that my pants were falling down. I dropped a few sizes and clothes were easier to find. So now I want to do it again, please help me.

I've never found tea to be particularly effective in weight loss except insofar as replacing coffee with tea can cut a significant amount of calories if you like your coffee sweet because most people either don't use milk and sugar in tea or they use less.

But other than that, your approach sounds good. Like you, I've recently gained a whole bunch of weight that I had previously lost and I'm feeling really discouraged. I thinking the working out is key - I tend to sabotage myself a lot and I find that working out helps motivate me not to over-eat.

Good luck!!! Just remember that the small things can add up so even parking farther away in parking lots and taking stairs can help on busy days if you don't have time to hit the gym (although it sounds like you're pretty dedicated to making time for the gym).

Tamago will become famous soon enough
I replaced diet coke with green tea. I still got enough caffeine so I don't go crazy..but am not dehydrated anymore or craving food because of the empty calories. I don't know whether it helps in weight loss but it does have antioxidants that will fight off disease and help your skin if you drink three cups a day.

Sounds good. I think Green Tea is recommended because of its anti-oxidents, not sure how that helps with the weight loss. Otherwise your program looks really good. I'd really put an emphasis on the HIIT and resistance training.

Work Hard!!
