TOM Munchies

Question for all the lady tigers out there...I find during my tom I get super hungry and eat totally not good food for me (read: McDonalds and chocolate). Why is this? Does anyone else get this crazy all consuming appetite where you eat junk, get emotional, and retain more water than one probably should? How do you combat this? I hate to ruin all the work I've done and I know a simple answer would be, "well, just don't do it." But, alas, easier said than done...anyways, looking for tips. Thanks so much!

I have a go to meal for ya during TOM!

You need a food processor though!

1 or 2 frozen bananas (ripe) so when the yare getting to that time just cut em up throw in a baggie pop in the freezer

when the yare frozen put them in a food processor for 5 minutes (scrape from side as it starts to break down) you can add some honey, agave or cinnamon..or nothing!

It will turn into a creamy soft serve..I promise.
Bananas will make your tummy feel better during that time of month..and its a sweet treat

Well the truth of the matter is ... just don't do it.

I think many of us get cravings for certain things during that time of month. For me it's salty, crunchy things like potato chips. I absolutely crave them like you wouldn't believe. But I can't give in to my cravings all the time ... just like I can't go buy whatever I want whenever I want.

It did really help me to start thinking of eating just like I thought of running my finances. I may *want* to go buy the gorgeous $400 pair of boots I saw at the store, but if I do, I won't be able to pay my electric bill. So I don't. It's the same with eating junk food ... I may *want* to eat an entire bag of potato chips or drive through McDonalds or whatever ... but if I do, I'll gain weight back. So I don't.

And, on those days when the cravings are irresistible, then try to have something around that makes a good substitute. For example, I can airpop some popcorn and have it for 150 calories with some seasoning salt - yeah, it's a little salty and I'll retain water, but at least it's not a bag of potato chips or a large fries from McDonalds.
