Oh Jennifuffa! You're MIL needs a muzzle! I hope your husband says more to her than just correcting the pregnancy comment. He should seriously considering laying down some ground rules for common decency since she isn't able to do it herself
Urghghgh...
Just thinking of her comments is enough to make me want to say something to her
I'm glad to hear your mother is so supportive!
Up until the last post, I had never actually believed I could be out of the 200's by Christmas. Thinking of what I need to lose per week, really brought home how possible it is.
Oh he puts her in her place. But there is something wrong with her for real. Her mother had dimensia and I am thinking that she has the first stages I have a feeling that may be the source of her meanness.
Your goal is totally doable. Mine is a little far fetched unless I get my butski in gear.
My shorter term goal is to be 240 by September which is 7.5lbs a month. That was my pre-pregnancy weight. I gained soooooooooooooo much when I was pregnant because I used my pregnancy as a licence to eat everything.

The conversion for miles to km is 1.6X. Take whatever number of miles you walked and multiply that times 1.6 and you have km. (It is actually 1.609... but I very much prefer to round it to the tenths place. I have been rounding all of my distances to the tenths place.) Here are some helpful numbers...
1 mile = 1.6 km
1.5 miles = 2.4 km
2 miles = 3.2 km
3 miles = 4.8 km
If you walk further than that you have enough energy to do your own math!
Oh yeah, and BTW - I can't wait to reach a point where I have lost 19 pounds, or 35 pounds... you guys are doing great! My goal is to average about a pound a week over the next two years. If I do that, I will reach my goal weight right after I turn 36. If it comes any faster, that is just a bonus!
Jenn - I feel your pain about in-laws. Mine are horrid, too. I try to tune them out, and remember that they are an ignorant bunch of jerks, but I am stuck with them in my life whether I like it or not. You hang in there and try hard not to let your mother-in-law have any more of your thoughts than you have to. She is not worth it.
Twinmom2791, thank you for the conversion! And your weight goal sounds teriffic, healthy and attainable! You'll be hitting the 19 and 35 pound mark in no time!
When I first started losing 1 pound a week, and I would look at hoooowww many I still had to lose, I felt overwhelmed! However, I was able to lose 1 pound a week without a HUGE change in my diet/life style and 19 weeks flew past! It's not so daunting anymore!
Jenn, your September goal sounds ideal! That you can definitely do
As for me, pregnancy was just the opposite, I gained 13 pounds while pregnant and lost 16 when I had my daughter. I was *so* excited. My pre pregnancy weight was 219 and I walked out of the hospital at 216 - but after a short while, I had to go on a strict non allergenic, non irritant diet, and when I went off of that, I shot up to 230 in no time. I've spent the last 10 years going from there to 250-255. So I really can't blame ANY of this on baby weight
I walked in the heat. Not as hot as TO but warm just the same it was 24 Celcius with 56% humidity which feels like 28C. This was at 10am. Maybe I sweated off a little extra.
I went 2.6kms
whic leaves us with
510.08 kms

I ate too much pizza last night for dinner, and on top of that I ate way too late in the evening. I knew I was eating too much when I did it, but I just could not seem to stop. I have got to really limit how often we order pizza, because it is a huge weakness for me.
Warning - the next part is gross...
Anyway, my body punished me in the middle of the night. Around 5:30 this morning, I woke up sputtering with acid in my throat and even coming up my nose. I ran choking to the bathroom and finally got my throat clear and it took nearly half an hour to quit coughing up stuff that was running back out of my nose. It burned and hurt so bad. I have experienced acid reflux on occassion - maybe once every couple of months - but this was the worst. I woke up thinking I was actually choking to death!
I got back to sleep and when I woke up this morning I still had a sore throat, but I feel like this was my body telling me to not be stupid. I love pizza. I just don't want pizza to kill me, either slowly over time or quickly like a marauder in the night!
Oh yeah, and I sneaked some miles in on you yesterday, Jenn. With your 2.6 km we are actually down to...
506.8

Reason: add km
OK, I finally got a ticker to work! I've been working on it (and doing it wrong repeatedly) for two days now. I had no idea that the site would insert the ticker in every post I've already made! LOL!
Anyway, I try to only get on the scale on Friday. I tend to eat better through out the week, so I'm generally at my lowest come Friday morning However, I'm a bit frustrated, I started my cycle yesterday and I went and stepped on the scale. Up 2 pounds! I had no idea I gain that much during this time. I'm just going to ignore it and wait (weight?) until Friday and see what the scale says then. That's when I'll post any gains or losses.
Twinmom2791, I do the same thing with pizza. My husband and I can sit down and eat a large between us. Not Good! I hope you're feeling better today
BTW, does the 506.8 km include my 3.2 km from this week? Am I supposed to add that to the total when I post or did someone else do it?
Oh pizza. Pizza is to me, as Pork Chops are to Homer Simpson. My weakness too. I don't know how to stop either. My favourite is Pizza Hut's super greasy deep dish.
Have you ever though of making your own dough and adding your own healthier topings and controling the amount of cheese you use? I make my own dough in my bread maker and honestly the pizza tastes super. Of course I don't always make my pizza either.... I'm no angel.
Yes I think it would just be easiest to subtract our own totals from the most recent total that way nobody gets missed.
Speaking of pizza (I'm fixing dinner right now)...I snack while I cook. A lot. In fact, that is probably where I tend to over eat the most. So, tonight, I put a huge bowl of grapes on the counter while I'm fixing dinner and I haven't made a grilled cheese sandwich yet
