Honestly I think this is an "it depends" kind of thing.
Overall, one beer probably isn't going to hurt, as long as you make sure to include it in your overall calorie count each day. I have a glass of wine before dinner most days and I just include it in my calorie count.
However, keep in mind that beer has more carbs than wine or other alcohols and if you're carb sensitive, you could be setting yourself up for some frustration at some point. If you're close to your
goal weight and really wanting to cut
fat, you might find that beer is causing you to not be able to reach your
goal.
