need advice to get rid of beer belly

hello, im new here

I am a 25yr male from england with a beer belly, I will explain a little about myself before I ask questions. All my life I swore I would never get fat, I even made fun of other people who were, I never understood how they could let it happen, now it's happening to me >_<

In my teenage years I always had food which was bad for me, high in calories, but I never got fat, until I was about 22 my belly began growing and it amazed me, I know now that my metabolism has slowed down.

Now i'm 25 and I have a beer belly which is very annoying and embarresing. I can hide it with clothes and appear to look normal, but now the summer is coming so i have no choice but to reveal it (everywhere else on my body is thin) I would like to get rid of the fat ASAP!

what is the fastest way to loose this weight from my belly?

I will give you an example of what I eat per day:

Breakfast= large bowl of wheat cerial and mug of coffee (1 sugar)

Lunch= this varies because i work outdoor and buy from a shop, usualy a sandwhich, chocolate bar, and water

Dinner= a cooked meal, liike various meats, pasta, vegatables etc

Evening= now this is where i sometimes get hungy and pace around the kitchen wondering what i might find in the cupbards, sometimes i make a sandwhich or toast, but sometomes i crave something really nice like a cake

Alchohol= surprisingly i dont drink very often, i have about 10 units of beer a week, if not less

thank you for your time, i hope someone has a suggestion for me

You pretty much just need to work on controlling your calories. Avoid carbohydrates after lunch, which means less pasta for dinner. Replace cake and other snacks with healthier choices like yogurt. 10 beers a week isn't much but it all adds up, so drink lower calorie beers.

i was actualy thinking of using 'slim-fast', i thought i could have this for breakfast and lunch, then have a small dinner when i get home, and if i get hungy then have a 'slim-fast' bar or something. does that work?

Yeah it works. I have used slim fast from time to time. It wasn't filling enough for me to use as a complete meal tho, I might have 2 cans as a meal, or a can and a smaller than normal amount of food.

Hi Larns. Looking at your sample menu, I'd say your problem is sugar. Notice that every meal includes some. Also, simple carbs like alcohol and white pasta ACT like sugar in your body, and you are pretty much living on the stuff. The thing is, sugars tend to congregate on the stomach, so if you reduce them, you reduce your stomach.

Doesn't look like you eat many fruits or veggies; those can help fill you up without messing up your "girlish figure"

larns... im in the same boat as you are. It changes when you become the thing you made fun of. It just shows how things can sneak up on you. treat beer like a soda. Just remember its full of yeast and sugar. i wont tell you not to drink it because being from texas where the beer is cheaper than water i wont do it lol.......... try a mixed drink here and there just watch what you are adding to the mix...

let's say i carry on this way, cut out suger all together, eat more fruits and fruit drinks, and light meal when i come home. how long will it take to loose my belly?
