Talking "Nutrition/Food/Calorie Journals"

Hola,

Just wondering...

Do some of you use those online food journals where you enter the foods you ate and it analyzes them (calories, fat etc, and % of carbs/fats/protein, vitamins, etc)...

Some I know of are fitday and mypyramidtracker....

Which one do you use, or which one do you think is the best? I've looked at a few and I really want to start one where it actually tells me the calories in each food (not only the total daily, like at mypyramidtracker) but also the percentages, and if possible the nutrients...

Not that I'm obsessed with numbers and %s, I'm really not...I just feel that tracking it for a little while should help with figuting out if I should add certain food groups or nutrients more into my diet...and make sure I'm on the right calorie path...

With all those great resources out there, I'm sure there's what I'm looking for...I just haven't found it yet...thence I'm appealing to your expertise

Thanks!!

I have an account at www.fitday.com that pretty much suits my needs, I like the reporting that it has built into it and the charts are kinda cool... the food lists are pretty extensive (and Ieat some pretty strange things) my custom food list has maybe 15 -20 items on it... mostly artisan breads or something that's not mainstream... it's got a 'remembered' food list so if you eat the same things regularly, you can just pick from the list.

www.sparkpeople.com I had one at for a while - and it was just overkill for me - it's got a lot of good information in the articles... but the forums are awful... too many people and it's just not moderated very well...

Motivation is not something you find or lose, have or don't have. It is the product of how you see yourself in the world: active or passive, effective or ineffective, powerful or victimized, normal or pathological.

I'm liking sparkpeople...but fitday's cool as well...is there any way (on fitday) to see the calories in the foods you've eaten?

Spark people is cool - once i figured oout how to get rid of the preset menus

you get a running total for the day - or you can click on each individual item and it will give the calories in the entry.. What I like about it (and it took me a while to figure ou thow to do it _but if you don't use a full serving - you can put in decimals - like a 1/2 a serving you can enter as .5 - and it will give you the calories/etc for what you consumed.
