What is considered "realistic"?

I guess my question is...what is a "realistic" weightloss goal for .... say a month?

2 years ago when I lost weight, I was on Phentermine - which was great as far as energy goes...but I gained all the weight back + a pound or two. So that sucks. But, I did lose 25 pounds in 3 months. I think that is realistic...or is it not?

My thinking is....I'm 140 now - my goal is 105... so by Valentine's Day I should be at my target goal ....PROVIDED I stick to healthy eating habits and daily exercise...Right?

Hi there!
From everything that I've read 1-2 pounds per week is realistic and considered healthy. I'm sure someone else will chime in and correct me, if need be and/or add to this. (please do if I quoted the wrong numbers).

Btw...welcome to the forum and best of luck to you. You've landed on the greatest show on earth...forget what Barnum and Bailey's says!

1-2 per week is perfect, but people tend to lose more during the first couple weeks and that is normal, it's mostly water weight. Just don't be discouraged when the loss slows down after a while! People who lose the weight more slowly tend to keep it off longer.

what iv'e read recently is 1 percent of your body weight per week... which in post people's cases, is 1 -2 lbs...

How tall are you - that your goal is 105 lbs... (we encourage realistic weight loss goals around here as well.. and a healthy bmi...)

I'm very small framed - petite all the way around and not quite 5'1". I'm really like 5' 1/2", but to round up a little helps being such a shorty. 105 pounds for my height and frame is very ideal according to what I have read on various charts, etc.
