Diets themselves don't work long term, unless a person changes their eating habits completely...
Too many times I've heard people say, and I've probably said it myself too, that when i'm off my
diet I will have..... (something that isn't allowed on their
diet)
What does work is a lifestyle change.. where you can fit in most everything into your food plan... and you aren't depriving youself of anything.. but you are staying within your calorie range for the day.
The porto
diet is a lot of fish, vegetables, olive oil... not a lot of stuff is deep fried and the portions are reasonable sizes.. Portions in restaurants here, are enough to feed two or more people.. but there are people who would complain if their portions were cut down.. because they want value. (when applebees started the weight watchers menu items, customers complained that the portions were sooo small...
Counting
calories, by and large, does work, but sometimes it's very difficult to do.. people guesstimate thier
calories and often come up wrong...
