Question about weight loss

So heres the thing I have been dieting for about a week now. And I'm eating about 1200 to 1300 calories a day and working out for at least 45 minutes and I'm losing about 2 pounds a day. So I have been reading things that say a pound of fast is about 3500 calories. So it seems impossible for me to lose 2 pounds a day. I have been wondering if I'm just losing water weight and if its all going to be coming back, when I get better hydrated. But maybe I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth.



PS. I don't mean to make anyone feel bad who have to work so hard to lose every pound, I know I'm a young male which makes it much easier to lose weight.

well, yea, i wouldn't "complain" about loosing 2 pds a day (i know your not) It probably is a combination of water weight and diet. You might be loosing alot off the bat, depending on how you used to eat too. I mean, if 1200 cals is dramatically less than before, that would have something to do with it.

The water weight won't come back on once your body is adjusted, but your weight loss will slow down eventually.

I have helped a pastor friend of mine lose 20 pounds in 23 days and 2 1/2" in his waist. He was using the same system that I was using. However, I only lost about 13 pounds in the first 20 days. His average was better than mine.

Part of that depends on who you are. As long as you are creating new eating and exercising habits and getting rid of the old habits, the rate of loss shouldn't be that much of an issue. The problem with some people when they lose weight real quick is that they didn't focus on new habits and attitudes.
