Rep Power: 3742 | | | That Antonio is probably why this quote hit me as soo meaningful...
I have said so many times to myself.. "when im thin and fit ill do ....etc etc" or "i cant do that because im still not where i want to be" I think partly we might feel that we have waited too long..but its up to us to make it happen...so i think we are ALL too hard on ourselves..and yet we need to have faith that its w/in us to DO it and finally make it happen for US! ya know? |

Rep Power: 24 | | | I think for myself that I have always been just slightly overweight, and no one ever said that I was fat, so I never really did anything about it and I just let myself be at this stage where I wasn't okay with it, and I couldn't wear the clothes I wanted to, but no one noticed b/c i covered it well. Now that I have actually started, I have realized that I can do this and I could have been doing it all along. It really has made a difference, and it's so empowering. We can be who we want to be and we can do it now. |

Rep Power: 3742 | | | I very much agree amomono... I think sometimes, i know w/ me , i get into saying.."oh my metabolism is slow" and "my whole family is overweight" etc etc...those maybe true but i cannot allow them to be the masters of my destiny either. |

Rep Power: 3742 | | | Quote of the day... "The more you say "tomorrow" , the more you'll weigh tomorrow"
Ok its not a literary quote but I found this in the new "Your Diet" mag and I thought it was poignant enough!
I have some other interesting bits for you all... you may know them you may not..but here they are:
Dutch scientists say that a diet including chocolate, fish, fruit, veggies, garlic, almonds & wine can lower your risk for heart disease by 76%! I thought that was awesome!
Also... In a study ( not sure where) Women who had an egg for breakfast ate 29% fewer calories at lunch than those who ate a bagel & yogurt.. hmmm food for thought
Also...foods unmasked a bit... OJ is great but has 220 cal for 16 oz while tomato juice has 78 for the same amt. a lowfat bran muffin has 350 to 500!cal while a whole wheat english w/ jelly has only 180 cal. Wow!
Raisins have 110 cal for 1 mini box while grapes that are fresh of course, have 60 cal in 15 grapes.
Also.. the almost food group "ketchup" has tons of sugar ( you probably knew this) and mustard is great for saving your cal.
And last but not least..my favorite ( other than the chocolate factoid) is that Wine (esp red) which is good for you has only 75 cal /glass... so its a smart & enjoyable addition to anyones diet. Just remember to drink your water each day & and extra glass for any caffeinated or alcoholic beverages you might enjoy.
Tata for now!

Rep Power: 3742 | | up at dawn Ya know..Im amazed how great i feel after my morning strut at dawn... I drag myself out of bed and think..uggh..i would love to stay snuggled w/ my hubby..but no, i need this. by the time im hitting my last hill from hell im thinking..oh man.. this is killing me.. but on the cool down walk I feel like I could take on the world... I totally feel energized refreshed and revived! I feel like I could do anything after tackling those 3 hills in this brisk weather. Another great thing is I have asthma and since Ive been walking everyday and exercising religiously...I havent had to use my emergency inhaler for 3 weeks! That is unreal considering I used to use it 2 to 3 xs a day... makes me wonder if i really needed it at all!
Thats what I call..motivation to keep going! | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
