| I had my gallbladder removed by keyhole surgery at the end of February. I did not have any of the symptoms that you describe. At no point did I have a catheter or oozing of any kind. I went home after one night in hospital; I felt like I had been hit by a bus though! Three weeks after surgery I was fine, although still taking strong painkillers.
Prior to surgery, my surgeon made it quite clear that each patient has a unique physical make up, so every surgery can have its own problems. It sounds like your friend has a medical team that are monitoring her progress, so it seems that she is getting good care. It also sounds like she has a good friend in you. With medical support and friendship she has the best possibility of a good recovery, even if her road to wellness is longer than other's.
Best wishes to both of you,
Kristi.
