Rep Power: 19 | | Brieziel Yeah that would be a handy spot to stash things. I thought you may be a bit better proportioned than me, because your goal is lower than mine. So I figure you are a little shorter. My goal has been set at 67-70. I would have liked to be 62, which is the magic number ( and very elusive) I was when I was married, but I know that may be a little unrealistic and too hard to maintain. So I'm aiming 1st for 70, but will probably settle for between 65 and 67. We still want to look healthy after all. Less Of Me on my original plan I was allowed philly cheese, but am not now ( only had it once because it was too tempting). I wonder if its been dropped from the list since my original program? rjm noticing your ticker is down, not far to your first goal.

Yes L-Jay, 3kgs in 3 days. Don't you just love this diet. I know I say that in every post, but it is true!! I also totally agree with you on staying positive. As soon as those little negative niggles settle in, it's usually not too long before I break. Lucky that this program increases your serotonin levels which makes it easier to feel better and more positive. If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I wish I had been set 70kgs as my goal weight. I haven't been 60kg for about 20 years. IchooseLife, every program I have seen is also different. I think Lizzie (from the old thread) was on the program for ages, and got down to her goal weight. Maybe you could look her up on the old thread and PM her. I'm sure she wouldn't mind.
Just checked, Lizzi lost 55kgs in 15 months

I know my program is different from others just by reading everyones posts. Who really cares if they are the same. I have spent sooooooooooo much money on NEW diets that will WORK!! and pills and all that other crap. Believe me I have tried them all........I am just glad to find something that works and works quickly to maintain the enthusiasum. My biggest problem was exercising as I have arthritis through my feet and knees and find it really hard to exercise, hence no weight loss. But this is great. I love it!!
keep going - it's like the ad - because youre worth it!!
rjm - I wish my goal was around 70kg too. I dont think I have ever been 60kg

Rep Power: 0 | | mission possible? Hey all
I'm a dirty deviator. I broke last night and then again today (because I was bad last night) and because I have something on tomorrow night, I tell myself I'll just start for real on Sunday.
This diet is just suckful on a social life. I know you can eat beforehand - but I can't help feeling like I'll be a fat freak who goes to things (why does everyone have birthday dinners?) and doesn't eat or have a bev for the occasion.
I know my first stint, I avoided occasions and became a bit of a hermit. Maybe I'll just do that again - and then return as a transformed skinny.
On a positive note, you are all great. I love reading your posts. Would love to see some before during after shots (from neck down if you want to remain anonymous). Especially the ones who have finished! Goal 1: start on Sunday.
Goal 2: Go 1 week without deviating.
Goal 3: Lose 10kg.

If you stop your plan everytime you deviate, you will never get started. Its particularly important that you don't deviate because you deviated!! Otherwise its a dangerous spiral back to the weight you used to be.
I deviate regularly because of business functions. I try to stick to the general principles, but if I stuff up badly, which I do occassionally, I do a few things.
Firstly, I reduce the amount of crispbread and fruit that I eat that day, and possibly the day after....
I increase the amount of water that I drink, to flush as much fat out of my system as possible.
I switch to fish and seafood based meals for a few days to try to catch up on the weight loss
I analyse why I stuffed up! So, if I go out for a meal and I stick to reasonable amounts of protein and vegetables, I don't consider that I stuffed up. But if I panic eat, eat way too much of the right thing, or eat completely wrong foods, then I try to work out why that happened and how I can avoid it in future. Sometimes, that means better planning, sometimes its because I've been in too many high risk situations too close together and I just can't keep resisting etc. So, I try to learn from the situation so I don't do it again.
So, don't wait for Sunday to start. Learn from your mistakes and be back on the wagon straight away.
In terms of your party, maybe find out what types of foods will be available. If there is nothing there suitable for you, then take a plate of food to share that you can eat as well. Stay well away from any buffet table. If its a restaurant, order steak/ seafood and salad. Take sparkling water, so you feel like you are drinking something nice.
I don't think Cohen's has to equal social deprivation. It is possible to eat out and not totally stuff up.
Good Luck!

Especially if you're having dinner at a friend's house. There's nothing to stop you taking your pre-weighed dinner with you and slipping into the kitchen and putting it onto a plate, to be served at the same time as those eating the other food. If the host/ess is a true friend they will help you, not hinder you. Drinking can be accomplished with bubbly water, or allowance soft drinks.
It's really a question of how much you really want this.
To reply to someone's question previously about how long people have gone without deviating, I started on July 1, and will finish hopefully end of March next year. I will not have deviated.

Just ask for it without the dressing and possibly balsamic vinegar instead- as far as I can remember cesear dressing has all kinds of nasties, cream, egg, sugar, anchovie (which means ALOT of salt) and loads and loads of preservatives- seriously its not worth it, Balsamic is nice with chicken and salad and it is on the program whcih means the only deviation for you would be not the correst amounts which is naughty but not avoidable when going out sometimes
good luck!

What a fantastic job everyone is doing. To the ones that had little back sliding moments...treat this like learning to ride a bicycle....everytime you fall off just get back up and off you go...and maybe ask yourself, do I really want this diet?
I'm a little older than some of you but I know that I have yo-yoed on different diets all my life and now I am forced to make peace with my maker over losing weight...as I have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, induced asthma symptoms from being over weight(having to take medication for them daily) and I WANT TO LOSE THE WEIGHT NO MATTER WHAT...I feel like I have been handed a new lease on life with Dr. Cohens and I know I am a compulsive eater along with being highly emotional too.
Since I have been on this diet, I have felt better than I have in 10 years and I can finally sleep at night good. I have only lost 5 kilos in the last two weeks but that is 5 kilos closer to my goal weight than I was 2 weeks ago. I found out this morning that I could have possibly lost more but I was deviating with out knowing it.
For anyone using the Hoyt spices, especially the garlic powder, it has cornstarch in it, slyly written down at the bottom of the list of what it is good in on the package. Here I was shooting myself in the foot and didn't even know it. I was devastated because I didn't knowly deviate, aw shucks why didn't I deviate with something really good instead of that. But this is all behind me now and I will take the next thing that comes my way and go on. By the way I went out and bought all new spices because of being afraid all of the spices might have it in it. It was my Cohens person that spotted it on the package and that was even worse, almost like having my hand in the cookie jar.. No Worries.. at least I found it now and not two weeks from now when I go for the monthly weigh in.
Jody...You are such an inspiration girlfriend...you have done so fantastic on this diet and such a trooper for being such inspiration to all of us. Way to go girl....Keep up the good work and soon I'll get to see you in the new ads that B is putting out.
Everyone is doing such a good job....Give yourself more credit, just remember that you are being good to yourself and adding a longer life for yourself, what more can you do?
I bought some size 16's in sleeveless shirts to wear in the next month and just was so happy to think that I will be that size soon. I'm sorry I am very tired of wearing size 22 and looking like the goodyear blimp here... and just really look forward to wearing sizes 8's 10's & 12's.
Take care everyone and til next time......shrinking....shrinking.....Shrinking
Jo' @ Bribie

Or ask them to make a garden salad with grilled chicken and balsamic vinegar. Most sandwich shops can manage that. or some steak or seafood with salad if its at a restaurant.
The problem with caesar salad is all the different types of protein in it.... chicken, bacon, parmesan cheese, often egg. Plus the dressing is high in fat, and the croutons. Most places don't make them fresh, so it would be difficult to not get those in your salad.

Havent written for a few days so just wanted to fill you in on my last few days. Been busy working and having late meals. Making sure its 2hrs before I head off to bed though. Dont think Ive lost too much this week. But I have been good and absolutely no deviations. Managed to go out to lunch yesterday with my kids and ordered a plate with bits of white chicken meat and lettuce, cucumber and tomatoe and left most of it as there was way more than I am allowed. Was proud of myself for achieving that.
Waiting to hear what my blood test results are. Was told that Dr Cohen has had vacation that had something to do with Jewish holiday so he is behind in his results. Curious to see if it they will say Ive deviated or not. I havent, but who knows. Was told by consultant that if you have codene it will come up as a deviation. Guess it really doesnt take too much to show up in your blood works.
Hope everyone is hanging in there and positive and feeling good about themselves as that will make our journey a lot more tolerable and less stressful.
May your weekend be lighter. Remember, were one day closer to our goals.
Cheers,

I've weighed out my grams allowance in salad tonight so I'll know tomorrow roughly what my limit should be, and the chicken is inground in to my palm what I should have lol
Discovered sugarfree gum today.... mmmmm mmmmmmm hehehe
