I'm livin' in the 70s.....

Hi All!! Hope everyone's weightloss is going well!

Well, I've officially been back on the program for one week - and have dropped 3.3kilos - taking me back to 79.5 (hence - I'm livin in the 70s - which I sung and danced around my house this morning!!)

Took me a little longer to get going than I would have liked - my fiance has been in and out of hospital having neurosurgery long story - but okay for now.

Also, last week my wedding dress - my size 10 wedding dress - arrived, and I absolutely LOVE it - so much more motivation to get into it!! Only 14 kilos to go!!

Have had a good week - not feeling hungry and heaps of energy - I put that down to making myself go to bed by 9:30 every night, regardless of how much I have to do....has made a huge difference already and something I didn't do last time!

Anyway, hope everyone is going well!! Am on track now and no going to let anything stop me!!

Tasha

4 days in!

Hi there everyone
I'm 4 days into the diet and I must admit that today I am finding it hard. I am hungry all day! I read in the manual that this will pass and I really hope it does because I am feeling a bit obsessed about food right now. I have not broken the diet and don't want to. Any tips on reducing hunger? Hoping for some answers

Hi Danimoo & welcome to Cohen's & the forum. Don't fret- the hunger should pass any day now!! Make sure you are drinking enough water(2-3 litres a day) & skip apples (if you are eating them) until the hunger subsides. It gets easier every day, cheers Cate

Vaalia yogurt

Hi everyone,

I have heard a whisper which has been confirmed by my clinic that Vaalia yogurt has now been taken off the approved list due to a reformulation of the product......

Struggling at the moment and haven't managed to get back on the wagon but was still having my yogurt for breakfast, not sure what yogurt I will choose now..

Still checking the forums and hoping to jump back on the Cohens train real soon.

Trudy

Hi Trudy,

I have always eaten Yoplait, Yoplus Natural yoghurt, ever since I started (it's in a blue tub!)
I buy it at the beginning of the week, mix sweetner through it and then divide it into the right breakfast amounts in small containers - that way
I just grab a container out of the fridge each morning and am not 'tempted' to have anything else!!

That is my tip for the day!!! Hope everyone has had a good week.....I am now on day 12 and going strong....people are starting to comment that I've lost weight...yay!!

Cya,
Tasha

Thanks for the tips Cate. I cut out the apples and made sure I was eating something every couple of hours. That is Breakfast - 2hrs - 1/2 orange - 1hr - crispbread - 1 hr - 1/2 orange - lunch - 2 hrs - etc....

This seems to work for me and I am trying to drink the water allocation...I think that really helps.

Tommorow I will have been on the diet for a week and as of last night I had lost 3kgs!! Does anybody resist weighing themselves???!!!
Anyway thanks for the support.
Danielle

Chelle- My program is over a year old but I could have Vita-Wheat original or cracked pepper; Nabisco Premium 98% fat-free; Arnott's Salada Light 97% Fat free; Arnott's Salada Original; Nabisco premium Crispbread. I ate the Salada originals as I much prefer them & still do. Cheers, Cate
Danielle- I didn't weigh myself for a month & got such a pleasant surprise. Weighing often can lead to disappointment as our weight fluctuates within a month. Just don't despair if you have an increase, probably due to fluid retention, one day. It can do your head in! If you stick to Cohen's 100% your weight will decrease. It's a sure thing. Congrat's on the 3kg loss & getting through your first week, which is the hardest, cheers, Cate.

1 week anniversary!

Hi all
It's 1 week since I started my Cohen's journey and so far I have lost 3.8kg. I know I shouldn't have weighed myself, but I couldn't help it. I understand that my weight will go up and down but I needed to see what all that gritting and sticking and staying with the plan had achieved...and I was happy with the result!! That's the bottom line - I so want to lose weight and for so long I have not been able to motivate myself. Infact I was putting on weight - so so far the Cohen's diet is working wonders. I turn 40 (eeeek) in March next year and I want to feel good about myself. I've booked a family holiday to Fiji and this is a good motivator as well. Most of all I'm motivated to have good health and control over my weight.
I was wondering why there is no Chicken stock in the diet - how about if I got the bones and made my own?
Thanks to all with the hints and tips so far!!
Also not so hungry now...has improved my outlook.

Smile Thanks Cate

Thank you very much for your assistance, we did pick up the nabisco and feel much happier knowing it is on the list. (big apologies no ryvita.. my bad)
I am endevouring to incorporate a walk or two a day into my routine but my 11 month old is not being terribly helpful with the sleep thing. i am so excited for everyone losing weight its great . I know i cant resist weighing either, its so encouraging to see it going down hope to up date my own loss soon. Clothes i think are great way to see what you are lossing, my mum and i are planning fortnightly window shopping safaris to help keep our eyes on why, why , why.. i will see my 30th go by with little loss of weight which disappoints me greatly but i have many more social events next year and crave to have reduced my weight and clothes size for them. any way i better log off. will read and post tomorrow.
Wishing you all a well watered and good cohen's day.

Chelle

O m g

Dear me ,
i seem to have scared you all away. My apologies... Hope every one is doing well and look forward to reading your post...

I finally got my walk in.. kinda i went on a clothes safari, my reflection did not match the mental image ...

I have recently joined facebook it has succeded in making me feel fat and old, i saw old school mates they were thin, happy and just starting families, my eldest is 13... another incentive to drop those kilos and inches..

well i best get some shut eye..

may the water be with you....

hugs,
Chelle

Hi Chelle, There aren't a lot of us about at the moment & I don't always look in this thread. If you go back on your program & stick to Cohen's 100% you will lose the weight you regained. You have gained a lot of knowledge in the last 2 years and now know that sticking to the maintenance guidelines is as important, if not more important than the actual weight-loss program. Also I bet you wouldn't want to turn back time and not have your 13 year old and be starting all over with babies. You're well ahead of your old class-mates, I would say, in experiencing life. You should put a high value on being a parent, especially a good one. It's one of the hardest, most demanding jobs in the world. Take care, Cate

well i have actually stuck to my exercie schedule for 5 days its a miracle...
my 30th is 2 weeks away now... so hope to be able to say i have lost a few kilos by then.. I plan on only eating lunch out and sticking to cohens for my breaky and dinner on my weekend away with hubby. i have hit a couple of small bumps in the diet this week. but hope to be able to defeat pantry monsters in future. I have a 50th birthday to attend on oct 25th and would love to be smaller for the event my mums is in jan and plan to be alot smaller by then, we are going on weekly clothes safaris to keep our eye on the prize. apart from my own healthier life another big incentive is being bridesmaid in one of my bf's wedding in september 09 lots of photos. i attended a wedding earlier this year (as a guest) and was the largest person, it was terribly uncomfortable and i dont plan on doing that again. besides i have already lay by'd my shoes at myers and at my current weight i wont even make it down the aisle with out feeling like my feet are slowly and painfully being crushed to dust....

anyway wish you all the best and look forward to any replies.

goodluck and may water and loo's be close by..

chelle
