Rep Power: 0 | | Body butters and creams Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a good weekend. With daylight saving starting today, my Sunday is running away very quickly and I still need to do heaps and heaps of housework and I really shouldn't be on here at this time....oh well....here I am.....
Thank you to the people who started this forum....it's really great. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Myshy: don't forget you can have some diet coke as well at your meeting. Have you tried diet vanilla coke....I have this and it helps me when everyone is having their lattes and cappuccinos. Hope the meeting is a good one for you.
Heavenlylamb: Congratulations on not having to resort to plus-size clothing......great milestone and the world is at your feet in choosing what to wear......
Mermaid sister and L-Jay: instead of eating different fruits we can put cream on our skins and smell their flavours. This maybe a weightloss secret worth thousands of $....we won't tell anyone and I'm in with you guys
Yesterday I was out with friends and I didn't drink my water as then I would be chasing loos around the place and today I can feel the effects. I feel bloated and yuk. Will try to be better today. At work a 10,000 step challenge has started and I have been volunteered into a team. So keeping track of how many steps I'm doing as well. It's great comparing with everyone and there is no pressure on anyone. It's all in fun and everyone getting healthy.
Keep on shrinking everyone and enjoy the rest of the day. |

Rep Power: 7 | | | Well i had a nightmare of a weekend. had a trophy night on friday (i got a trophy woo hoo!!) which was free food and alcohol (AAAHHHHHH!!!!) i had my dinner before i went and drunk water all night, which was really depressing, but i didn't want to undo any of the good work done so far. THEN on saturday night i had my nephews 21st which was also catered for, (GRRrrrrrRRrr!!) i tell ya, i felt like a right idiot after so many people asking me why wasn't i eating and would i like some trifle or birthday cake!!! no one there seemed to notice i had lost weight, and i had kinda hoped for at LEAST one person to comment... i felt like a total leper.
I never really noticed how much food was a social part of my life, everything seems to revolve around eating something somewhere while seeing someone/something!
I went out to breakfast this morning (which we haven't done for ages) and had a coffee while my other half had Eggs Benedict (my FAVORITE!), then went to the movies (i also LOVE popcorn) i just induldged myself in all the smells, and tried to get enjoyment from watching him enjoy eating.
I keep telling myself "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"
I must admit obstaining is hard in a social situation, and in some ways i just want to lock myself away for a few months till all the fat has melted, but unfortunately that's not an option!
No deviations so far.... and no deviations to go!
happy melting everyone!

Rep Power: 0 | | | Breziel- I know what you mean, no one really noticed my weight loss (and I still can't really truely see it) but the comments didn't start until after the 10kg mark. Don't despair, we have almost the same weight to lose and come xmas their jaws will drop don't give up!

Rep Power: 6 | | | Brieziel - Well done to you! Your strength and resolve are second to none! Talk about will power - you amaze me! And don't you feel better for it? Your post came at the right time for me - so I thank you for the inspiration. My husband is away so I am left to my own devices and three kids! Oh Joy! It is tough but if you did it so can I!
Hope everyone else is going well. Thanks for the support re: my little deviation. I need to stay focused and I will whilst I have you all at my disposal to listen to all my carry on! Thanks a mil.

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi everyone, HEAVENLY LAMB - Well done with the "normal" dress store purchase. I can only imagine how exciting that will be. What an achievment. BRIEZIEL - You go girlfriend! Thats so awesome. I too had a birthday party to go to today and managed to take my supplies and everyone was commenting on how yummy my food looked and wished they could have some of mine. What a turnaround huh? Also had a few comments on the wieght loss. They were all pigging out on pies and little boys and yummy cream birthday cake and home made pav....my favorites. But I managed to be strong and drank plenty of water and ate mango for dessert. Feels great after youve achieved such an aclomplishment (sp). Were another day closer to our goal weight and new bodies....cant wait.
P.S. First official weigh in tomorrow, and blood test.
Sounds like everyone had a good weekend and managed to stay focused and diligent. Well done to all of us.
Heres to another lighter day.
Night all,
Cheers

Rep Power: 8 | | | Trip to the land of deviation Well I am off for 5 days to Kyoto (ex Japanese capital) and Kobe , including a day at Universal studios for the kids.
From my count I will need to eat 12 meals that *deviate* from the Cohen perscription. I think I can eat a yogurt and fruit breakfast, and I am taking the scales to see if I can eat some cheese and salad lunches, but otherwise I will just have to do my best to guess and "best fit" meals.
This is the worst thing for me about Cohens, going on trips ; closely followed by social events.

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi Everyone, Wildsykz - First weigh in....very exciting!! Be sure and let us know how you go! Feeling Frumpy - Are you allowed to have Vanilla Coke on your plan? I was only allowed to have caffiene free diet coke (although my plan is from last year). I don't mind the CCFD coke anyway that's all I have in the house. I like your suggestion of bringing one into the meeting though - except I can't!! Bringing a competitors product into the meeting would be really really frowned upon (I was worded up by the other girls!). I'm lucky my company does water and they usually have a few bottles of that on the table. Failing that I'll bring in my own drink bottle. Congratulations on joining up with the 10,000 steps program. I did it last year and loved it! It really does force you into making sure you hit the target everyday. I wear a pedometer all the time now. Mermaid Sister & Brieziel - RE: people not saying you have lost weight...... don't forget that sometimes what people don't say is as good as what they do say. They may not have been saying anything to you...but you can bet they were thinking.."what is she doing?..she looks thinner". Another reason people don't comment is that they may not want to offend you......people who are carrying a little bit (or a lot) of extra weight can be offended if you point out they have lost a couple of kilos. It focuses on the fact you have noticed they were overweight.....something they were hoping you didn't really notice. If that makes any sense?
You are right though...come Christmas when you have lots heaps of weight they will be praising you! (or being insanly jealous in the corner and saying nothing!) Less Fatty - I'm jealous! Hope you have a great time. My niece is off to Japan this week too as a 3 month exchange student. She went last year and just raves about the place.
I managed to skate past my boredom today without deviation. I hope it pays off tommorow. Myshy

I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend.
Mermaid Sister - I am so happy to hear that you have sorted the uni/parents thing. Bet you are relieved and can now truely concentrate on your exams and Cohens.
Heavenly Lamb - I am glad you had a great time at the wedding. I have one to go to in late December (i know - who gets married at Christmas?). I have not yet been shopping for the outfit because i want to leave it as late as possible to see what smaller things i can fit into. Your experience got me excited about the whole ordeal though.....
Briezel and Wildsky - hmmm, this is week 4 for me. If my scales are right, i have lost a lot of weight. But it must have been seriously compact weight becuase you really can not notice it all. I mean i think i have lost about 12 kgs... not sure... but still, that is alot of weight. And no physical show yet. How are you guys going? Any physical changes yet???
I am still getting hungry at times. I think that is cause i am not taking the vitamins. But i can not take them cause i think i may be allergic to them. (took them a while ago and had an adverse reaction and now my doctor wont let me take them?)
So i am always hungry!
Having said that i am having so much trouble with my clinic. They will not return calls, answer emails or get back to me at all? Anyone having that sort of prob? I dont want to go off at them cause i need them, but i just wish they would cut me some slack and get back to me on a number of important matters?
Anyway all, happy Monday.... And now that we have lost an hour's sleep.... i especially want to reach out for that caramel koala fund raiser $1.00 chuck that is on my collegues desk!

I must smell like a fruit salad

Rep Power: 0 | | hi to all Dr Cohen diet followers!! Hi, my name is annemarie and I live in the United Kingdom. I went on the Dr Cohen diet back in November last year and in 4 months lost 4 stone, after trying every single diet going!! THIS diet was the best thing ever!!! However a few months after being at target weight and feeling fantastic, life got a bit tough with things going wrong and unfortunately being a comfort/emotional eater, now I am unhappy again after putting on 3 stone So tomorrow I am starting the program againl, determined.....
It has really helped finding this forum and reading all your threads, I hope you all will help me stay on track as I am desperate!!!!
Does anyone know whether the same original program will work for me second time round or do you think I need another program after another blood test???
Has anyone out there tried second time round following their original program?
Pls advise anyone out there - I would really appreciate your advice!
In the meantime I will carry on reading all your messages
By the way, this is all new to me too (forum talk!!!!) |

Rep Power: 19 | | | annmarie a big hello, & welcome to the forum. I did retry my old program, and it does work, however for me personally it was neccessary for me to get a new one, purely because it was harder for me to find the motivation without the blood tests and consultations, I just kept caving in after a month. So if you can give your original program a go, its definitely worth it in terms of cost.

Rep Power: 0 | | | hi L-jay, thanks so much for your quick reply - this is the first forum I have ever looked at and joined so it was really exciting getting a reply from someone so far away - how sad am I!!! But really, on a serious note, thanks -its funny but I can understand how you felt, because I keep thinking I ought to get a new blood test etc to keep me motivated cos the battle with the weight loss is all in my head!! I start off with excellent intentions in the morning, prepare all my meals for the day and then around 3pm it all seems to go out of the window and I end up eating rubbish vowing to start again tomorrow etc etc ...I have now been doing this for the last month BUT I WILL START AGAIN TOMORROW and hopefully if I keep in contact with all you people out there who understand what I am going through it will be enough motivation. What I keep asking myself is why did I manage it with no problems last year and I know how great it was to lose the weight so quickly and feel wonderful at my target weight, and yet I am struggling so much now.Anyway, I hope I will be speaking to you again. bye for now. |

I'm having the same troubles as you. I lost 35kgs last year and then did refeed etc. A few months later I decided I wanted to lose a few more kilos, so I went back on the program for 1 week, couldn't handle it so I went off it again and started eating normally without completing refeed and I have upset the delicate balance that the program created, and I have regained about 18kgs. I have been trying to get back on my old program for the last few months without any luck, and have come to the decision that I must invest in a new program to give myself the motivation to continue. Unfortunately, we are also super broke at the moment as we are in the process of starting a small business, so I have just emailed my closest clinic to see if they have any sort of a payment plan.
Does anyone know if any of the clinics offer a payment plan?????? living it, which clinic are you using? I don't want to go to a clinic that doesn't reply to emails etc . L-Jay, I sent you a PM. Hope that's ok.
Have a great day everyone. You people all get me so motivated to get back on track and get myself back to where I was.
Thanks

Great to see most people had a good weekend.
I have unfortunately hit the wall (but not literally this week). I feel that my weight loss is going to be compromised, I know that i should be concentating on healing but i feel like i'm letting myself down. I think i'm just having a gloomy moment due to the boredum. I love being active and i really hate sitting around waiting, waiting and more waiting. I feel like that all i have done in my life until i started this program.
Geelong clinic finally rang me back and told me my blood test showed that i have deviated. Me deviate ~ i'm still in shock, the only thing i can think of is the paradise biccies or perhaps being too heavy handed with the spices but it is really off putting when someone tells you - you have deviated when you know that you haven't. All my meals are carefully weighed and measured, we haven't eaten out, if we go to friend i take mine with me so it really bugs me when i'm already feeling down.
Sorry Guys i'm just a little down and very sore. Keep up the great work you are all doing. Strength and courage be with all of us now and forever.
Cheers Jewls

Rep Power: 0 | | | Hi guys Wildskyz, Breizel, Livingit my first weigh in is tomorrow (tues). Scared but excited. I can notice in my clothes and my face has cheekbones now!! Never seen them before, well not for a long time anyway. I havent weighed myself at home as I dont have any scales but I have only lost 16cm. I only measure the parts they tell you in the book, does anybody else or do you measure more? Interested to know because obviously that will change your total cm loss.
I went to a hens day on Saturday and managed to stay ON the wagon. No deviation at all, all of my friends are so supportive (as I am the largest) they all want me to succeed. Most people noticed that I wasnt particiapting in the alcohol part, when I told them I was dieting, the ones that I am not particually close to said, Yeah I'm dieting too but I am having a lash out today. I think they thought I was a bit boring, but hey i'm focussed and pushing to lose heaps!!
Cheers up jewls, your doing great, wont be long and you'll be back on your feet! I wish I had achieved as much as you!!
Have a great day everyone!!
Bye for now
