Rep Power: 59 | | | Hi Luvbug, That's sweet! I hope that I'm a good Mum! I do have a lot of love for my family. Sometimes it can feel very overwhelming.
The carbs I had the most trouble with are bread or any wheat products. I am not going to have bread often but it's good to not have bloating when I do. I am also eating some carb vegies like potato, pumpkin & green beans. So far, so good. I'll keep an eye on it.
I think it's the highly processed white carbs I should avoid but I think that's a wise move from a general health perspective anyway.
The footy I talk about is Australian Rules football & the team I barrack for is St Kilda or the Saints as we call them. It's nothing like rugby. It's hugely popular, especially in Melbourne.
I'm about to head out to 8-ball with my LH (lovely husband) so will say good-night to my forum buddies, xo Cate |

Rep Power: 59 | | | I still have a headache & have had a glued up eye 3 mornings in a row so have rung the doc & made an app't for 11 this morning. It means I'll miss Tai Chi but I think I probably shouldn't go anyway as I don't want to share it with them. We are however babysitting the grandkids tonight as our OS & DIL are going to see one of their favourite singers. I want them to go but will let them know what the doc says.
My carbs of the last 4-5 days have put on a little bit of weight so I'll cut them down a little. I'm not at all worried at this stage. I'm GW + 1.5kg, so still in the middle of the GW range. I prefer to be at the bottom of it though so will just cut down a bit.
I haven't heard from our YS yet. He's in Rio.
Cheers for now, cate. |

Rep Power: 12 | | | Hope the sickness passes quickly, Cate. Gummy eyes are pretty yukky all round.
Wonder if people who tend to put on weight are extra carb-sensitive? My husband eats bread like nothing on earth and never seems to put on much weight. Never mind, if sacrificing a few carbs will keep us slim and trim, it's worth it! The good thing is now, having done Cohens, we know it's easily reversible. |

Hope u feel better soon, Cate! |

Rep Power: 59 | | | Niyah, Luvbug, everyone!!! I've heard from our son. He's having a ball. He sent me the most beautiful email. It was so sweet & loving & I just wanted to tell you all. He loves Rio & sounds so happy.
I'll be back later. Not babysitting as I have a viral infection & conjunctivitis & it's obviously very contagious. My DIL's mother is looking after the GK's.
I love Facebook as I can read what our son types for everyone else and then I can have his emails meant just for me. He's such a sweetie.
I don't care that I am sick. I am happy!!!!!!! xo Cate |

Rep Power: 12 | | | What a relief for you, Cate! Hopefully that will make a sick day much brighter.
I'm sure he must appreciate how much you did helping him organise and get ready to go, so nice to see it come out in an email! Our kids know how much we care about them, even if they do try us at times when they are around. (OK, I know "kids" isn't exactly the right word for young adults, but they'll always be "our kids" no matter how old they are!) |

This time it's just the dreaded conjunctivitis. My eyes really sting & are quite painful. It actually hurts to look at my computer but I will just paste this FB msg from our son tonight-
"Hang Gliding from 520mr off Tijuana National Park hellipad all the way to Rio beach. Followed by cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain and watching the sun set over Rio from the peak smashing frothies. Lock my day right in!"
He then emailed me to say he thought it best not to tell me about it until afterwards to which I agreed, saying that it's great that he is living his life & afterwards is a very good time to tell me about things like that. I'm happy that he is so happy.
Good night fellow Cohenites, xo Cate |

Rep Power: 12 | | | Well, I'm glad it's just the conjunctivitis, even if it is yukky!!
I'm glad I never knew about the shark encounters whilst surfing, the car dings and so on until afterwards either... sometimes I think my boys have had about 19 lives! Fortunately hang gliding hasn't been a feature so far, but I guess there's still time for that! |

Rep Power: 59 | | | Too soon to relax it seems. Our YS missed a connecting flight in Sao Paulo & rang last night upset & trying not to panic. They said they could not get him on another plane for 2 days. He did not have the phone numbers on him to ring Peru (must have been in his checked-in bag) so I gave them to him & said I would try to ring as well. To cut a very long story short I eventually got through to his travel coy & the hotel but have not been able to let him know. He is going to the airport first thing in the morning & hopefully they will be able to get him on a flight today. At least he should still be in Peru for the start of his tour as he had allowed 3 days beforehand. He sounded so stressed out. This is not going to be an easy 8 months. I hope I don't have to be on constant alert for all of it. I'll need Valium at this rate! I wish he would look at FB as he would see that they will pick him up still if he lets them know when. Oh dear. I think I'll be sleeping during the day today. I'm exhausted! Be back later, xo Cate |

Rep Power: 12 | | Well, just as well you got to enjoy a "good bit" first up!
Hope he manages to sort the flight out and get to his tour.
Have a good weekend and don't stress too much. I'll be running around like crazy, but will be thinking of you and will check back in here if I get half a minute (maybe, midnight Saturday!!!) | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
