Help-Started Today & can't stop thinking of Food

Hi everyone, I've lurked for about a month, joined, got my plan and after one function or another I started today. I haven't really been on a diet, I joined Weight Watchers but never actually did anything. I've dabbled in shakes and meal replacements. So I'm pretty hopeless at "dieting".

Anyway, I went shopping on thursday night and stocked up on meat, chicken, tuna etc. All I could do while I was shopping was look at all the food I wasn't allowed!!
Today I started and all day I'm thinking of food, looking up all the receipes here etc, walking into the kitchen meandering around.
I can't stop thinking of food and more so, thinking of all the things that I'm not allowed, am I normal? Has anyone else experienced this and if so when does it stop !!!!
Thanks
Stef

hang in there

This is about reteaching your body, so hang in there, usually takes about 3 days and you will be over the cravings - just take each moment as it comes

Congrats on starting the program Stef. I am sure I will feel everything you are feeling now in a week or so when I get my program. But I am determined this is the last time I am going to weigh this again...

I have found from lurking here on the forum for a few weeks is to be organised with my food and preparation - which is so not me.

Look forward to hearing how you go.

Toni

Stef, Well done for making the decision to follow Cohen's & a big welcome to the forum. When I first started I saw a statement that I changed around for me. "Nothing tastes as good as slim will feel" All the food you love but can't have while you are on the losing part of the program will still be there when you get to goal. It is amazing but after a while you just don't crave things any more. I have tried almost every diet known but this is the first time that this has happened to me. The program is smart & has changed the way I think about food! All the best & welcome fellow Cohenite, cheers, Cate.

Thanks sungun, lukey and cate,
It's day 5 and I'm still thinking about food but I'm changing in that I'm thinking about how best to plan my next meal. They are so precious that "wasting" a meal is such a shame.

I'm excited to see how much I've lost in a week....yes I'm going to be a law-breaker and way myself on day 7.
thx again
Stef

Annie_Lusion is a splendid one to behold
Hi Stef,

I was exactly the same in my first week, but once week 1 ended and I had lost 4 kilos and started feeling better I soon stopped thinking about food. My focus was let's lose more and more and more and it got easier and easier to the point where some days I had to force myself to eat or had forgotten to eat.

You'll see once those scales start moving and your clothes start feeling looser your focus will change too.

I have stated this often in this forum, food you crave or miss ain't going nowhere it's still gonna be there when you finish, it's just been put on hold for the moment. You will again enjoy those foods (in moderation) just think Cohens food for now.

Like Cate and so many have said "Nothing tastes as good as slim feelsl"

Looking forward to following your progress and seeing that ticker move.

Annie Lusion
