Kannadew is a splendid one to behold
Hey G'day from WA!

Weight: 108.8
Weight lost so far officially: 4.9
Weight lost altogether from my heaviest to now (2004): 32.2kg
Measurements so far: 31cms lost (I will type up the full details some other time)

You know ... I really would love to be able to keep a record on here of exactly what I eat every day... cos I think it would be interesting to note the daily fluctuations... I find I just dont have time or energy to be that specific! EVEN Though I do write a lot! haahah

I am doing well. I have been reading the forum over the last week and although I had lots of opinions about stuff I decided to just keep out of everything and stick to my own diary... I didnt really need to have stuff I had said thrown back at me etc... so ... for a CHANGE...I just shut up! hehehe... ITs really unusual! I have lost another 300g last night! yippee Down to 108.8kgs

I made a Mango Smoothie last night to have with dinner and it was yum (100gm Mango and about 1/2 cup of sprite zero blended) however I noticed a pretty severe sugar rush not long afterwards. It didnt give me a headache or anything.. but just this buzz... it was a bit uncomfortable... although it was YUM I dont know how often I will be making it. I have made it before.... earlier on in the program but didnt notice the buzz... Maybe it has been soo long since having Sugar, my body is really starting to react to it, even "natural" ones.

I had in interesting dilemma today... I am a bit hesitant to bring this up, because of the debate (unrelated to Cohen's) it might spark... but I was at church this morning and we had communion. I had the bread half way to my mouth before I realised what I was doing and so I palmed it and threw it away! HMMMM... Dont want to do that again. I also had a mouthful of Grape juice... (we dont do wine..which is good!) but I guess I will need to be prepared with one of my own crackers broken up so that at least I can participate in the 'ceremony'. Part of me does not like the idea of even having a mouthful (a really tiny mouthful) of grape juice even once a fortnight... cos officially its a deviation... but I dont want to miss out on participating in this important "ceremony/ritual"... Hmmm I know that it is not going to be a problem over the next month or so because I'll be away visiting non-christian friends and so wont be attending church while away.. but it is still something I will have to think about and plan... just like everything else.

Anyway... I think that's it from me for now.. Lots of blessings to you all. Hope you are all finding ways to stay warm (or Cool!!)
Ciao
Kath

Hi Kath,
I still take communion, but I try to have my crispbread allowance as soon as possible afterwards or before, so I'm not having 2 lots of carbs close to one another. For me, the importance of sharing in the experience is more important than the small likelihood of it causing any problem with weight loss.

Kath- I think you can perhaps eat a tiny piece of cracker instead of the wafer, just touch the grape juice to your lips, but don't swallow & this should be ok with your beliefs & shouldn't affect your progress. Is it possible to chat to your priest & explain the program briefly to him. He will probably say this is ok to do. I seem to remember reading a post somewhere about what the wafers are made of but have no idea where it is. i think I would also email your consultant & ask if you could make an adjustment to your day's allowance to balance the wafer/grape juice out. Doesn't hurt to ask.
I'm with you re the support thread. I have wanted to hide but can't help myself. I'm just going to reinforce the love & support, ignore the negativity & nastiness & hopefully we will get "our" forum back to normal. It has really upset me though.
Have you thought of changing your ticker to include the weight you lost before starting Cohen's? You should be very proud of yourself. I am impressed! Cheers fellow Cohenite, xo Cate

Hi Cate and HL! Thanks for dropping in! We actually use real bread in my church, broken up into small pieces, rather than wafers...I probably wouldnt have minded the wafers... cos they would have been just like the crackers... but with real bread I was a bit... "oh oh".. didnt want to risk it. I will take a cracker with me and use that, as I do agree with you HL I really do not want to miss out on participating in this experience. I normally sit with the same friends so I can explain to them what I am doing. The grapejuice.... yeah... I know its only a mouthful... I didnt lose any weight overnight when I have been pretty consistent over the last week losing a minimum of 100-500g every night. It might not be the grape juice..it could be just the body starting to set into it's cycle I guess. I will continue to keep track of the minor fluctuations I think and test it out again when I get back from holidays.

I finally said something in response to Tony's questions... but it was nice and light...so hopefully it will be useful to him and will help him get all the answers he is looking for.

Thanks Cate for your encouragement! I know!!!..... Its heaps eh!! It is VERY tempting to change my ticker but then it would get confusing and people would think that I had lost all that weight on Cohen's and then I would keep having to explain that no I didnt lose it all that way etc. so... I guess Iwill leave it that way for now.

Bless ya
Kath

Well done Kath on the 4.9 so far.
Isn't your weekly weigh in on Tuesdays?? I can't wait to see what you've lost this week. My weigh in's are Sunday and this week was 1.6. It's really nice being able to share the journey with someone.

Stef

Hi there,
Woo hooo ! Inching closer to that 99.9, doing great Kath and also think you should change your ticker for your overall weight loss, maybe you can include something in your signature to mention the kg's lost pre Cohens.Just a thought..

HI All!
Well there has been NO change in my weight for 3! days so ... this is all still the same...except my measurements have moved a little bit!
Weight: 108.8
Weight lost so far officially: 4.9
Weight lost altogether from my heaviest to now (2004): 32.2kg
Measurements so far: 38cms lost (I will type up the full details some other time).
Annie: I might have a play with my signature to see what I can come up with! It does look pretty impressive eh!
So officially, today being Tuesday...well done Stef for remembering! (Well done on the 1.6..thats totally AWESOME!) I lost 1.4 kgs this week! I was so hoping for 2... cos it really looked like it was going that way... 200 or 300g every night but then it just stopped and nothing. I like weighing everyday and watching the variations to see if my food has an impact but also whether it will be a part of a natural cycle. I have only been having cheese once a week to make sure I dont over do it. I had cheese on Saturday at lunch. I lost weight on Sunday morning but nothing since then... I will have to test that out again. I am also about a week and a bit away from TOM again so I wonder if that is also something to do with it. I think I like the science and understanding behind the variances. It helps me to understand my body better. I know that other than a mini mouthful of grape juice at church I have not deviated...not even Ibuprofen for headaches. Anyway... moving on!

I have 7 more days of work!!! WOOHOO! I have 9 days till I go to Perth and then fly out to Adelaide to see my wonderful friends. I am so looking forward to seeing them. I havent seen them in soooo long. I hope it goes ok. We have managed to keep our friendship despite our different views in life and vast distances. I am soo excited about it all. I also am still a little nervous about my eating. MY plan is to be really organised (which is actually my biggest strength...I LOVE TO PLAN)...but when you are on hols with other people you cant really plan them..especially when you are in their house... and I want to relax as well without feeling too stressed about everything. I am sure it will be ok. I get a bit anxious about stuff because I spend too much time thinking about it in advance and then it is usually all fine at the time!

I am in Adelaide for 10 days and then its back to Perth for a week to catch up with all my other friends. I have some friends who have been living in Indonesia for the last 5 years, who have just moved back to OZ. I cant wait to see them! I went for a holiday to see them in 2004...but still its been ages.

Ok well I guess I should stop "rabbiting" on about my holidays and go and get some breakfast.

Blessings to all!!
Kath

Hi Kath

I am inspired to write. You will be at goal in no time, one day at a time. I am also a Chrisitan and go to church every week, we have the real bread and grape juice too. The small amount of carbs should not make a difference to your loss.

Regards
KGB

Hi All....

Nothing new to write really. In fact I've come to vent.... I did not lose ANY weight in 3 days and then was hoping for at least a moderate drop of say 300 or 400g last night but was only blessed with 100g! SUCK! Its ok..I'm not really stressed. You know how it is, as I have said before, about reading other peoples journeys and how they consistently lost 2kgs every week etc etc... I have started to keep a really detailed spreadsheet just like the one that Baloo does over in the other forum (Newyouforum) and hopefully it will allow me to track the minute changes to do with food, TOM and just the general cyclical nature of losing weight. Its only the beginning of Week 4 for me so... hopefully I will have a better understanding of my baseline by the end of next month... although I am going on Holidays for a month so... ??? I dont know! The good thing about this spreadsheet is that I can work out a predicted end-date based on my current weight loss... and its not too bad. It has me getting to goal by the end of Jan... that is of course barring any unforseen problems OR HOLIDAYS... so maybe my predicted Feb is more like it..

But Thats 6 months away! I am not going to focus on that so much, although it is definitely good to know...otherwise I might feel like it could be never-ending at this slow pace. I will focus now on getting through my holidays DEVIATION FREE! Wouldnt that be totally awesome to be able to come back and say that! Its my desire certainly... but I dont know about the mechanics of it... because other people will be cooking and I will be out to dinner lots etc.

HI KGB! Thanks so much for stopping by! Its good to have people drop in and offer their support and encouragement! I was a little worried that this topic would cause some problems but everyones been great about it! Hope you stay strong and focused in your journey!

Blessings to all
Kath

Kath, I gave up on trying to find a pattern to my weight loss. Some week's I lost none & the next I'd lose 1.5kg. It didn't matter what I ate or when. I thought my weight loss would slow down towards the end but it's quickened! Knowing that you will do it is the best thing about Cohen's. I never lost confidence. You will do it. I know you will.
Don't fear rejection in here. It won't happen. We are only here to help & support one another & we are all different but with the same, shared goal. Enjoy your holiday Kath, xo Cate.

Hi All!

Well after virtually NO loss in 4 days...I lost 100g. I lost 500g last night! That was nice to wake up to! I drank 4L yesterday.... and as I am now tracking absolutely everything it will be interesting to see if that was part of the success! I have reached 5.5gs lost in 3.2 weeks. That's not TOO shabby at all. I am happy if I keep on this pattern. 9kgs lost in 4.2weeks.

I have been a bit more open with people at work about what I am doing and a couple of the "girls" have expressed an interest, with one actually ringing the clinic! How cool is that! It will good to have some one to do it with here at work, cos then I wont feel bad talking to them about it all the time! hehe

Ok... Well I had better get back to work!

Bless ya
Kath

Hi Kath

7 kgs in 4 weeks - WELL DONE

You've done a brilliant job.

Where do you find the time to track eveything.!?! But I agree that it would be interesting to see the ups/downs based on the intake, etc.

Hope your trip goes well. You've got a strong personality so I'm sure you won't be swayed. But then you aren't going on a food holiday, your going to catch up with friends and talk.

Have fun
Stef

Well HELLOOOOO!!! Its been AGES since I last touched base in my own diary! Today was my weigh in day... and as Stef noticed I reached 7kgs lost for the month! Which is not too bad! Not as great as some others (Congrats to Toni for the 8kgs in 2 weeks!!!) but I am happy with it. I have lost a total of 10.5 kgs in the last 5 weeks.

Weight: 106.7
Weight lost so far officially: 7
Weight lost altogether from my heaviest to now (2004): 34.3kg
Measurements so far: 46.5cms lost

I had my blood test today... and i have had absolutely NO deviations that I have known about... other than the mistakes that I made at the beginning of the program... so hopefully it comes out ok. I have been sooooo happy with how I am going and so proud of myself and all my friends have been sooo impressed with how I have stuck to it no matter what. I have not eaten when they have had bad stuff. For example we all went out for amazing meals tonight and everyone was getting some pretty awesome stuff... and I looked at them and thought that it would be sooo nice to eat them but I had brought my chicken and had ordered a garden salad, and I enjoyed it (apart from the fact that I had to pull out all the olives and cheese etc from the salad and so it was probably under grams!) As a friend said later tonight... I AM IN THE ZONE... I am... I am in the COHENS ZONE! I am so stoked that I am losing weight so easily and that I have lost 46.5cms so far. If I lose the same amount of weight next month then I will be in Double Figures by the end of July! THIS IS JUST AWESOME!

I think this might be my last entry for a while as I am about to head off on holidays on Thursday! But thanks to all you lovely people who check in and keep me company... it has really really helped! Please keep it up!

Blessings to all!
Kath

Well done Kath!!! You are being so strong, especially when going out with friends. I have to be tougher in this department and make smarter choices.

I do understand now why they don't recommend you to weigh yourself everyday....I have had no loss this week....infact a gain...Sat morning I was 119.4 (which was 8kg...was thrilled). I'm back up to 120 at the moment. Oh well our bodies have our ups and downs....I guess I was aiming for 10kgs in my first month.

So I have been very good this week. I just need to drink a bit more water...so thats where I am off to now...to fill up my bottle.

Have a fantastic time on your hols Kath. Look forward to hearing about it all when you get back.

Toni
