Bottom line was that after a good pap, the doc was only going to prescribe mirena. My wife pushed him a bit, her referred her to another doc (who was much better, IMO), who then proceeded to run her through a total of about 3 different procedures, that in the end, finally resulted in a hysterectomy, because she had early stage cancerous cell s growing behind a polyp that hadh been removed hysteroscopically. She is fine now, no further issues, and she kept her ovaries, so no hormone replacement necessary.
I happened to see the iron suppliment and heavy period statements in the same conversation here in your diary, and a light went off. I don't mean to sound scary, I just want to make sure you are covering your options is all.
I sat with my wife through every appt and procedure that I was allowed to, and would/will do it again if it ever becomes necessary. It was not a lot of fun, even if in the end it all turned out fine.
Oh yeah, and for the record? since it's gone now, neither one of us misses TOM... |
Thanks for that TC, I appreciate you sharing this with me and others. It must have been a worrying time for you both. I am glad everything worked out for your wife in the end though.
Having a wonderful supportive husband like yourself must have been a great sense of comfort.
I will endeavour to follow this up further, it has been bugging me for awhile now and my Doctor really isn't interested in looking any further into it. I had to push him to check my adrenals and because my TSH levels were in the okay range he refused to check my T1,2 and 3....???
Anyway thanks for your concern and advice.......Lol about neither of you not missing TOM...My hubby and I would be the same...him more so I think Alright Day 12 Menu
M1 - Yoghurt.
M2 - Tuna and Salald 2CB,
Snack - 1 peach and 1 CB.
M3 - mozzerella and veg 2 CB and an orange.
Anyway if I don't get back in here tonight I hope you all enjoy your evening and also have a fab weekend.
Sam

Rep Power: 19 | | Hello Diary, Nancy and Cate...
Morning all...love my Saturdays atm.....no kids sports and rushig madly to get ot soccer
We do have a swim comp for YS in the afternoon but that is not a rush job. Well it's day 13 feeling better today not so bloated and ready for my weigh in tomorrow. Must remember to do my measurements too.
Hubby said my face has lost weight when I woke this morn and that is what he judges from. Last week I bought a size 12 pair of jeans I know they are tight fitting now but I will use this as my weightloss gage over the next few weeks.
I had on my size 14 jeans yesterday and OS pointed out to me (out of the blue) that I put on weight around my upper legs and bum ....which I've always known ...
Anyway I'm old enough and mature enough to know that I can't change the shape of my body, but reducing my bodyfat and building muscle mass will help these areas over time.
Anyway it's been a good morning veging out on the computer.....but all good things must come to an end. Off to do some jobs now.
Have a good day and will be back tonight to post menu.

Hope all is well and you enjoyed your Sunday. Day 14(Sunday) was very busy and we were out all day and didn't return till late and then it was dinner, baths, ironing etc to be done so I didn't get to bed till late which is why I couldn't get in here yesterday.
I didn't have time to weigh either....but I did not stray from Cohens I packed my lunch and took it with me and my snacks etc.... So Menu yesterday was:-
M1 - yoghurt and mango.
M2 - Tuna a salad with 2 CB
Snack - appple and 1 CB
Dinner - Beef sausage with veg and 2 CB. Today is Day 15 and I woke to a loss of 1.2KILOs so I'm stoked with that. Adjusted my ticker already. Can't wait to see 70kg!!!!
My waist measurememt is 851/2 cms/331/2inches....must check last weeks.
The weight loss is defintely slower this time around. But I am not complaining those loses are great and I think once I start doing some minumum exercise that should help too.
Okay that is me and I will come visit a few diaries quickly.

Rep Power: 19 | | Thank you Cate
I actually found tonight challenging for some reason???
Not sure why....maybe it was the salmon thai dish I was making for the rest of the family with rice. Yum!..
My mouth was salivating....I have to admit I tried a slither of salmon...just a slither no more. Okay Menu for day 15
M1 - Yoghurt and peach
M2 - beef and veg with 2CB
snack - orange and 1 CB
M3 chicken and veg with 2CB.
Well I think I'll retire early. Had a late night last night and maybe that is why I am not losing as much...too many late nights.
I'm sitting here atm while lightening, thunder and rain mark their individual imprint on all my senses. The kids had a ball when it first started.....except when the power went....Lol. Well I hope the dam is getting some of this rain and I know the grass and plants will definitely be loving this...maybe we'll see a bit of green happening now.
Okay people have to go the cat is very restless....he hates being indoors.
Enjoy your evening - Sam |

Rep Power: 21 | | Sam, you are doing great. 70 kgs will be popping up on your scales really soon.
Just a word of warning. (Because I've found myself doing this so much in the past - ie even Sunday). "Just a sliver" of salmon. Don't let yourself get into that mindset, because it will become just a sliver of this, just a taste of that, and before we know it, the weightloss stops, we start looking at every other thing as being the cause, because our brain conveniently blocks out all those tastes and slivers that mount up. This morning I had a spoon of the wrong yoghurt. I could smell that it was flavoured, and should have gone straight and checked the carton, but I was outside, and being lazy. If I downplay that and the "little bit" of avacado I had Sunday, and still manage to lose anything this week, my mind will go back to it's old tricks of "You can get away with it" and before I know it the 16 kgs lost so far will be back. I'm not having a go at you, because most of us haven't been strictly 100%. Eg. not drinking enough water, etc. That stuff happens, but the minute we allow ourselves to justify by what that voice in our head says, or by what we say to others, we are giving ourselves license to cheat. Cheating doesn't work.
Lecture over.
I just really want everyone who does Cohens to finish it properly, so they can have peace of mind, but especially those of us for whom this isn't the first time. So, I hope this comes across in my post.

M1 - 1 egg with 60g veg on 2CB.
M2 - Beef and veg.
Snack - 1 Nectarine and 1cb
M3 - beef and veg with 2cb and 1 orange.

Rep Power: 3 | | | You are doing so well Sam. It's a great moment when something that would have had you grabbing for some comfort food, doesn't provoke that reaction any more. So good for you.
Keep up the great work and full steam ahead. |

Rep Power: 21 | | | Hi Sam, yes, you are doing great. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I feel that when we find we are coping with situations without turning to food, every time we do that, it's another step forward, and it reinforces the new person we are becoming. It's such a confidence boost. You go girl. Here's the mum side coming out: while you're busy looking after everyone else, make sure you take out time for fun stuff for you. Recharge the batteries.

Rep Power: 19 | | Hi Will, L-Jay and Cate (thanks for the virtual massage)....Lol Day 17 Menu.....very late post I know but hubby is away over night and I don't sleep much anyway so I did all my ironing and then my friend rang and the time just got away.
Oh before I post menu I must mention that I had a upset stomach this afternoon and had a huge whoosh in the loo....TMI I know but it really did derail me some what.. Okay here is the Menu:
M1 - Yoghurt and Kiwi fruit
M2 - Mozz cheese and veg with 2 CB
Snack - Mango and 1 CB
M3 - Chicken and salad with 2 CB
Okay confession time I actually didn't weigh my third meal..so I probaby ate too much protein I feel and less greens, Not sure why I didn't stick to weights. After my rush to the loo I did feel out of sorts and it really seemed to spike my hunger.....anyway what is done is done and I know I will pay for it later.
Better head off to bed now my eyes are blurring up.
