Talking Welcome!

Hi Carissa!!
Welcome to the best forum EVER - with the BEST PEOPLE EVER!!

The ticker thingy...
Go to...
www.tickerfactory.com
Select Weigh Loss
Type in your stats
(I have mine set to WEIGHT not weight change - just so you know what this looks like)

Click next
Highlight the text under this heading....
bbCode:
(Fertility Friend's Circles, phpBB, Invision Power Board, vBulletin...)

Now Hold Down the "Ctrl" button on your keyboard while you press "C" - this copies the link.

Now go to "Private Messages" which appears at the Top Right of the forum screen you are on now.

On the page which has just opened - Under "Control Panel" Top Left of this screen - is "Edit Signature".. click here & you'll see a box window (like the one you type posts in)

Now Hold Down[/U] the "Ctrl" button on your keyboard while you press "D" - Your ticker has now been pasted to your signature. Click the "Save Signature" button below the type box. When you post next it should be there!!

Hope I have made sense??!! XX

Hi!

Lizzi- thanks for that info on the fasting. Much appreciated.
Carissa - WELCOME! The first week is the hardest, so well done! It's all easy from here on! On the ticker, go to tickerfactory.com & follow the instructions. When you get to the end copy the link in the forum window (there's a couple of options - it's the top one), and paste in into yur signature in your "User CP". Hope that helps!

I made chicken curry for dinner tonight. So easy, and so, so tasty! Will def be making that again!

I keep thinking that today is Friday, and I get to weigh in tomorrow, but No.. I have to wait another day. Damn! Really want to see what my 4 week loss is!
I have a supermarket bag full of easter eggs in my kitchen from gifts from work today. I don't know what to do with them! I can't throw them out, can I? It seems like such a waste. And I would really like to eat them when I'm done. I might just hide them all somewhere....

Happy easter everyone.

Bella

Yay afer my constant breaking last week I am back on track and seeing results . I have dropped 1.5 kg this week alone , which for me is great!!! It just shows that I really can't tolerate carbs, just a few and everything goes haywire but cut them out almost entirely and my weight loss picks right up again and even faster than before. It will be interesting to see what happens next week. Maybe my body thinks its week 1 again. I am celebrating anyway. Only 1.5kg until I am a dainty little OVERWEIGHT person!

What is everybody's favourite Cohen's style meal ? I love the beef curry but the meal I always enjoy the most is my yoghurt, a little sweetener and some stewed apple. Yummmo.

Thanks everyone for the tips on the ticker think I got it working,

Ridiculous if I was you I would get rid of the easter eggs all together then when you get to goal you can buy yourself some really good chocolate having them in the house would be too much of a temptation for me !!

I had the same problem but have kept all mine to give to my son. Now I dont have to go and do easter shopping and look at all of those evil eggs !

It is so motivating to read how well you guys are doing you are all a great inspiration to newer people like myself so thankyou...

Hi everyone!

Blood test tomorrow... Oooh! One month is up tomorrow! I can't wait to get up in the morning and see if I managed my 10kg goal. I doubt it, given I'd only lost 6.5kg as of last Saturday, but you just never, never know.

I have a couple of favourite meals - calamari on salad, Yoghurt with kiwi fruit, and my new chicken and cauliflower curry. But I still can't go past a good piece of steak with some veges. Sometimes it's the simple things that are the most satisfing.

Haven't heard from Pink virgo for a while - she must be on her refeed. Hope it's going well!

You know you are all going to hear from me tomorrow with my weigh-in results.

Have a great day.

Beware of the chocolate bunny!

Me on refeed - I wish!!

Hi guys!

Have been reading all of your posts but had no energy to post anything of my own. ( I'm working graveyard shifts at the moment ).

My self weigh-in on Tuesday showed a weekly loss of - you guessed it - 500 grams. So after a huge loss the week before my body is back to the small loss again. Go figure.

RIDICULOUS - I'm far from re-feed honey! I wish I was on it, trust me!! You probably have me mixed up with Tash, who no doubt is either starting re-feed or just waiting to get it to do so! Go Tash!!

READY TO LOSE - You posted a little while back asking if anyone else here is shift worker. I am. My shift work consists of 8 and a half hour days starting at either 6am, 8am, 12 midday, 2:30pm, 3:30pm or 10:15pm (graveyard) so my working weeks are here there and everywhere, trust me! I haven't had any problem with fitting in three meals a day. I just eat when it's applicable to the shift I'm doing. Which obviously means I certainly don't eat at the same times each day. If you've read any of my previous posts my weight loss varies, sometimes dramatically, week to week. However my consultant cannot say for sure if my shift work has anything to do with the speed and/or variance of my weight loss (to tell you the truth, I think a lot of my consultants 'answers' to my questions are guesses and not derived from any kind of fact or research. I've learnt to figure most things out on my own, through logical thinking).

Welcome to all the newbies!!

EASTER EGGS - Yum!! I have a stash for when I finish this program. They keep, and I've checked used by dates on them all, which are all for 2007. I'm not into bunnies or plain easter eggs, but I'm a sucker for Red Tulip Caramello Eggs and of course Cadbury Cream Eggs!! I've had my packets now for some time and not once been tempted to go for one. They're my post re-feed treat!! (in moderation of course!).

I have to admit I fell of the wagon last night I bought my dinner from Subway - I had a chicken, lettuce, tomato and onion wrap. The reason I bought out was not because I wanted to be naughty, or because I was craving a wrap (it was so not worth it afterwards, wasn't even that tasty at all!)... but more so because I just so didn't want to have to cook. I was just in an "I'm over cooking" mood. It's been 10 weeks and I've cooked every single meal in that time. I guess when you're eating 'normally' you generally have at least one night a week where you have the night off from cooking - whether it be dinner at a restaurant, pizza, take out or just some really convenient meal at home which all you do is chuck it in the oven to bake. That's the only thing this program lacks.... there is no such thing as a convenient Cohens meal. I think my wagon dismount had a lot to do with the fact I was tired too (working graveyard shifts can do that to ya!!). But I'm still on the wagon girls, and my safety harness is firmly strapped on!

I'm only about a third of the way through my weight loss. Here's to keeping up my willpower for another 20 or so weeks!!

Have a fantastic easter everyone. Take care and keep up the great work.

Hi Missys-mum. Glad to hear about your son-in-law. Sounds very promising. Our thoughs are with you. And congratulations on the weight-loss to date! 36kgs is still an outstanding result. You can definatley jump back on the wagon - to lose that much you have already proved that you have the commitment!

First month (self) weigh-in and measure this morning. Didn't get to my 10kg aim, but I almost did! One month loss was NINE KILOS! That puts me at exactly half way! That also means that I lost 2.5kgs last week (must be the extra sleep ) I only lost 6cm, but my monthly total was a 49cm loss. That is amazing. It doesn't even really feel like I've been on the program for 1 month. So, all going well, this time next month I should be ordering my refeed! Wow. That is such a motivator. And this month (should) be easier than the first, because I don't have any trips to Sydney, no work meetings or dinners, and no major events (yet).

I can't believe it. I'm half way! YAY! Hopefully the next 9kgs will see me drop a dress size or 3(I still haven't after 14kgs - 5 on Weight Watchers, and 9 on Cohen). Can't wait to go shopping. My Mum is coming down to visit in a month, and i haven't told her about Cohen, so boy is she going to get a shock when she sees a skinny me waiting to pick her up at the airport! She's going to be so surprised! I hope she buys me clothes.

This means I don't need to throw out my easter eggs. I haven't slipped up at all and I got great results. That's all the "won't" power I need!

I feel like I'm walking on Air! But enough rambling from me. I have to go get a blood test.

Have a great day everyone!
Bella

SO CLOSE!! Only 0.1 to go and I reach a dual mini-goal. I will no longer be obese AND I will be 2/3 of my way to my Cohen's goal. I will be there in no time and very pleased.

Hey missys-mum, so good to hear from you! It really is good news about your brother now, although it sounds like he had a very rough go of it all. Seems like some prayers have been answered and I trust all goes well - I realise there is still a journey ahead in dealing with this.
Things look promising with the hubby too. Maybe these things will help with the weight loss because you started so well before things went wrong. How much do you need to lose now? Keep posting, won't you?

ridiculous: way to go! 9kgs is excellent considering it takes you half way. That is fast loss - you will be there in no time. You go girl!

PinkVirgo: Interesting comments about shift work. Disappointing there weren't some clearer answers for you. From what I have picked up, our sleep is really very important, because that is when the HGH is released. The quality and length is important, so that is a pertinent way that we can help ourselves along. So in shift work, even if you get the meals right, the ups and downs could be explained by the changes in sleep patterns.
I know someone else who does shift work, and her consultant said not to expect as good a loss on night shifts because of the changes to her sleeping. And she finds her energy levels are totally zapped on nights as well. So do your best, you will get there. You are really doing very well to deal with shifts at all on this - I admire your determination ... and it was good to hear from you.
stick with it everyone,
lizzi

Hi everyone, Happy Easter to you all. Hope the Bunny doesn't leave too many tempting goodies for us. Have told my family not to buy me any eggs and I'm not really a chocolate fan but have put some hot X buns in the freezer for the after life LOL.

Ridiculous
Was going to suggest you give the eggs away to the local charity or something but seems like you're doing well enough that you won't be tempted, so just hide them for awhile.

Pink Virgo Sorry you had that subway but it sounds like it wasn't a bad choice as they are meant to be 97% fat free. I know exactly how you feel about cooking eevveerryy single meal. Last night we got home late and I had fish ready to cook but didn't feel like doing vege's or salad so said to hubby and daughter, "Lets just have chips (oven cooked) with the fish and they both at the same time said "NO" which of course made me feel awful but ended up making salad and so today I feel quite proud that I didn't give in. I do feel as if I spend all my time in the kitchen.

My daughter and granddaughter will be moving out next weekend so will not have as many extra meals to do, but sure will miss them. They have lived with us for about 7 years then moved to Vic for 18mths then came back and have been with us again for the last 18 mths. My daughter has just bought her 1st house (with the money they've saved while living with us) and it is all very exciting finding furniture and things to go in it. It isn't new but has been totally refurbished so only the yard needs some TLC.

That's it for me today, stay strong tomorrow with the choc's

Cheers.

It's interesting about the cooking. I, too, long for a night off! It has been a long time. But at the same time, I have enjoyed the challenge of constantly bringing variety to the foods we can eat. Our ingredients may be limited, but there is still a lot we can do with spices and combinations. Only trouble is, there is never enough to eat once we do.

We can prepare ahead with some soups and egg & veg muffins, which can help somethimes. Not the same as take away, but it helps. Only benefit? saves money!

Look forward to your ticker change gayegel, and so glad you had the support of your family last night. Ohhhh!! chips!!

Carissa, good that you started, and if you are brave enough to begin just before Easter, then no doubt you will be very strong throughout.

the old me: About the carbs, the refeed is supposed to help us a bit to rebalance, sure hope it offers some assistance, even if we underplay that idea.

My favourite meal keeps changing, and at the moment it involves any combinations that use curry or chilli in all it's varieties. And I am still hanging on to my mangoes, but the nectarines haven't been there this week. Sad.

lizzi
