Rep Power: 0 | | | Cohen's in Melbourne ?? I'm thinking about joining Cohen's, the only problem is I live in Melbourne and all the clinics are closed. Who should I contact? How do I attend an info meeting (that I hear everyone talking about)?
I've done sureslim in the past but the looong 5 hour gap was a killer along with the seeds!
Couple of Q.
Do you eat 3 meals and 2 snacks each day?
Are there set times when you must eat?
What is the minimum water intake each day?
What's the average monthly loss?
Do they change your diet plan each month?
Do Cohen's have a payment plan or is it an upfront fee?
For any Melbourne followers - do you weigh yourself and then ring in with your results?
Thanks in advance.

Hope everyone has been sticking to the wagon! Well, for myself, i've got my weekly weigh in & blood test this week, lets see how it goes! Mel, i've been reading ALL about you and i'm so impressed with your dedication. & yes, i can totally relate with being obese (i still am but not for long!) so none of your comments were offensive, but they sure hit the spot. I've started out wit 40kg to lose, almost an entire person. But as you said, i know it works. So that's keeping me going! Anyhoo, can't believe you're getting married in 2 months, congrats! You are gonna be one beautiful bride! & you HAVE to update us with a picture of the new you! MagicLea, that story about your Papa & his dogs really moved me. That was so touching, thank you for sharing that with all of us. Bam, before you know it, a month will be up, then two, then you are done! So hang on for this amazing journey! Skinnimini, all the best for your new journey! It doesn't matter that you've falled off the wagon for a long time. What matters is that you want to take control of your life again & start afresh. That, IMO, is the most important thing above all. Good luck!
Well, it's sooo hot in Singapore. Absolutely scorching. And even when it rains, its so humid! Ugh. What i wouldn't give for a few days of winter
Right then, have a great day everyone!

I posted a quick note yesterday, but I'm not sure if I did it properly or not!
My name is Megan. I am a mother of three littlies (3yr,2yr & 5mth) and I am keen to get back to my old self. I am absolutely terrified of dieting as I don't seem to have an ounce of will power. And I am tired of never quite getting there - you know losing 3 or 4 kilos and then giving up. It has only worked aganist me as now I have to lose a grand total of 25-30 kilos. It just seems like a huge effort and I don't know where to start. I was thinking of doing Dr Cohen's program but I am afraid of the temptation that comes with preparing family meals and social outings. It's excuse after excuse isn't it!!! But if I can see results quickly and know that I will keep the weight off I am ready to do it. I would love to receive some advice from any of you. I think this forum is a great idea as I really don't have anyone close to me who understands the daily fight you have, with yourself in particular, when you are overweight. I have 5 sister's all whom are skinny and very attractive - I'm tired of being the fat sister.
I can't wait to hear from you.
Thanks for your time.
Megan who 8-2Much!

Rep Power: 0 | | Morning all, reb Oh aren't those chockie frogs delicous when you haven't been allowed that sort of thing for awhile, but 5, never mind, now you've had a binge and it really didn't give you much satisfaction so just remember that next time you think of deviating. Back on the wagon girl and off you go again. Good luck. Magic Lea Great to hear from you. Sounds like you're going well. But not weighing yourself how do you resist that sort of temptation, the mind boggles. I'm a compulsive weigher, every gram makes me happy . Would love to see your ticker.
Weighed this morning and have moved into the 74's (74.9) LOL but at least it's moving. Am doing fish and chips for the family tonight, seems to be their favourite since I've been on this diet, blast them all. Will be strong and have grilled fish and salad.
Having a championship dinner at our golf club next week and I am in charge of the menu so will be making salads to go with pasta and will make myself a salad with chicken and hope to keep busy through the night so won't be tempted. Funny how our intentions are always good but we don't always follow through. Have been getting quite a few compliments about my weight loss lately, especially that I'm loosing my backside, (funny I never thought I had a big one) and I think that helps to keep you focused. I think to myself, just you wait until I've reached target. Yippee.
Well enough dribble better go and do some housework.
Cheers and keep up the good losses everyone. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Deviant behaviour Hi Girls (any blokes out there - or are you just watching?)
apart from the huge ticker update, just wanted to say that at week 9 - I'm still going. I've been good at sticking to the plan - no naughtiness - except...
Most weeks, we have had an event to attend (5 out of 9 weeks) - birthday, leaving party etc - tough but with a little planning I have managed to stick to the food list but blown the portions size e.g. steak (small for a man size - but twice as Doc Cohen would allow) with undressed salad / veg - I have suffered hunger and slowed weight loss in the following day or so and then back to normal. Where I have'y eaten much - I have eaten in the car either on the way or coming home - salad in a box (its a sad sight but I'm on a mission)
learnt a lot about portion size and how little we can actually get by on....and looking forward to what normal might consist of....its been good having supportive friends through this process.
I am feeling fantastic (24 kilos lost) - I now have a large collection of clown sized pants (trousers) which could comfortably accomodate 2 regular sized folk (that might be fun) and I am now on those long forgotten "tight" clothes in the wardrobe that used to show up every roll and extra body bit - the missus made me by some interim clothes as I was looking like a vagrant (cheek)
Another 17k or so to go - should be finished by my birthday (October 4th) - beer and curry planned (small ones right)! I am really looking forward to seeing my parents face when they visit from the UK at Christmas having lost 40kilos and back to teenage weight!!!! BRING IT ON
trying to convince "she who must be obeyed" that I deserve a new motorbike as a reward - will have to tempt her with a show in my leathers
keep it up and will be back before another 9 weeks pass
ciao for now |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi Bam and skinnimini,
Megan here (8-2Much!) I am in Brisbane as well and I also have 30 kilos to lose Bam - would you be my mentor? I haven't started the program yet - I have an appointment on Wednesday. But I would love to hear of your progress and any tips you might have for me along the way. I wish you the best of luck and I know you can do it! Skinimini - you will be fine to I'm sure. I adnire you for not giving in especially when you have not been in the best of health. I hope that some of your determination rubs off on me!
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks,
Megan. |

I live in WA but I don't use a clinic as such. Since signing up I have not been to a clinic and have done the program on my own. Some people thrive on having their clinic close by but as I don't have that luxury I have just done it myself. Support is no more than a phone call away though and of course this forum is a wonderful source of support also.
In answer to your questions - and these are only MY thoughts, others will have differing experiences.
Do you eat 3 meals and 2 snacks each day? Yes
Are there set times when you must eat? Not really, as long as you have five hours between meals with your last meal being 2 hours before bed then you can pretty much please yourself.
What is the minimum water intake each day? I personally drink 3 litres a day - and am considering moving my desk into the loo as I spend so much time in there!!!!
What's the average monthly loss? I have been on the program for about 9 weeks and have lost 22kg, this again differs with many people but for me I am rapt with that, far exceeded my expectations.
Do they change your diet plan each month? No although when you are almost at goal weight they provide you with a re-feed program to help you ease back into non Cohens food.
Do Cohen's have a payment plan or is it an upfront fee? Both. I took advantage of the payment plan which offers the chance to pay fortnightly, weekly or monthly.
I hope you choose to join us :-)
I hope these answers have been of help - I am sure that other people could also provide you with further info :-)

Rep Power: 0 | | | To Leanne... Hi Leanne,
My name is Megan. I have been trying to research info on Cohen's and have a meeting on Wednesday night to see if it's for me. Your post was most informative - Thank you.
I am just wondering how you survive social outings, ie; lunches, dinners etc. I have been invited for lunch at a friends house next week and don't know how to go about eating! (Funny as that sounds!)
Do you experience dizziness or headaches in the early stages?
Are you very hungry? How do you conquer the cravings - especially when you are the household cook?
Do you slam on the weight as quickly as look at a hamburger?
I understand you are probably quite busy but if you could indulge me it would be greatly appreciated.
22 kg in 9 weeks - that is absolutely amazing! You must be so proud of yourself. What a sense of achievement.
It really inspires me as I have to lose 25kg - could it happen this quickly?
Thank you for your time.

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi everyone. Welcome to all the newbies. Just a quick post to say hi.
Lizzi, congratulations! You are on the final leg of what is an amazing achievement in weight loss. I imagine you don't even recognise yourself when you see your reflection in the mirror.
Mel, it was so good to read your post. I was only thinking about you a couple of weeks ago, wondering how you were going. You have also done so wonderfully well and you should be really proud of your achievements. You will no doubt be the most beautiful bride.
Beck, hope you doing well off the refeed.
I'm still doing great. For those who don't know me, I started Cohens on the 11th July last year and lost 35 kg, finishing my refeed in mid December. I've managed to maintain my weight which is great. I'm in training for the City to Bay, which is a 12km walk from Adelaide to Glenelg in September. I would never have dreamed 12 months ago that I'd be competing in it this year, but I guess there's a lot of things I wouldn't have dreamed I'd be doing 12 months ago! It's amazing how losing the weight has changed me completely, for the better I think.
For any of you struggling, the end results are amazing and I urge you to stick with it. You won't regret it!
It looks like you are all wonderful support to each other on this forum, which is what you need when you're on this diet because only other people doing it understand what you are going through.
Keep up the great work everyone and stay positive.
