BTW Has anyone looked at www.sureslim.com.au, it seems very very similar and a bigger business that Cohens, is it a copy of Cohens or is Cohens a copy of them? Both talk about triggering of Human Growth Hormone and Serotonin in vague non scientific terms.

Question What do you do................

when you know you HAVE to deviate???

I'm doing this whole thing (restarting) for my wedding this year, I really wish I had restarted earlier , and i'm trying my very stinkin' hardest to not deviate, and so far, i haven't.

BUT I have a few social events coming up soon, and I don't want to sit there not eating. Would you just try as hard as you can to stick to your plan? or just knowingly deviate for that one meal?

My biggest day I need to deviate is going to be my wedding day, so i'm sure I can be forgiven (or rather, forgive myself) for eating what I want on that one day.

And I don't want to give myself permission to pig-out on my honeymoon, or it's going to be even harder to re-restart.

anywho, apart from these thoughts sending me crazy, everything else is really good. No deviations, and I'm dying to get to change my ticker, I have had a sneak weigh in, cos the curiosity was about to kill me, but I will stick to my plan to only weigh monthly.

I survived a team lunch I sat there had my black coffee and kept thinking this will all be over next month. 8-2 much your words were going around in my mind the entire time. It strange that once you get through a tough situation you feel so much better when you don't give in.

In terms of SureSlim (yes it is similar to Cohens) except you can not eat anything between meals, your fruit has to be eaten with your meals. It is alot harder and you basically get the same results. You are allowed Lebanese bread or crackers, you also have to take different types of seeds.

I was told that the person that started SureSlim did Cohens and then went and copied and desigend SureSlim. SureSlim rely on marketing, Cohens rely on word of mouth for promotion.

From my perspective I think 1KG after 3 weeks is very much on the low side. That been said, I know ladies weight cycles through the month.

My honest opinion if you are eating the foods in the quanties that Cohen program calls for it is almost certain that you will lose weight, there is just isnt enough energy in the food for you body not to need to metabolise fat reserves. How are your measurements ? are they dropping? So stick with it another week and see the result a 1KG drop is much much beter than 1KG gain!!!

My only cavet is that the fruit on the diet could be a huge source of sugars (sucrose, fructose) and hence energy, depending on the choice of fruits. For example apples, peaches and mangos can contain upto 1/3 sugar so for example a large 300gm mango (yum), has around 150 Kcal of energy, this is same as a small full sugar can of coke (139Kcal). Of course the Mango is full of fibre, vitamins, minerals and a whole host of good stuff, and Coke has zero except sugar. However whilst my example is extreme; if someone didnt have fruit, yet drank a can of coke 3 times a day we would be saying they have no chance to lose weight.

Lessfatty- Thanks for that!

Well the measurements are slowing coming down..
I agree a 1kg loss is better then a gain.. But im putting in so much hard work just like everyone else and im just not going anywhere..???

Im going to see my consultant tomorrow night, hopefully she has something positive to say in relation to the sudden stop of weightloss..

Gee i hope it still comes off, and that this isnt all.....????????

Karol - I hope I helped in some small way. Well done on avoiding temptation - it is hard isn't it?

Slinkee - I think when you have to deviate you just do it within the limits - by that I mean order a salad with no dressing and a steak, or fish (not salmon though!), cut off the fat and don't eat everything on your plate. It is much easier said than done but when you do it you will feel so much better for it. And whatever you do if you slip up, cut yourself some slack. What's done is done. We can't rewind so just make up for it in the following days. A diet coke or lemonade does wonders as well and try not to think about food - make good conversation with someone. If you read my last post I was stuck on a boat with food everywhere and you can't get off a boat! But I made it by strolling around, enjoying the view and chatting to new people. YOU CAN DO IT!

Bam - Gee lovey, I don't know what to say. I haven't even weighed myself yet - I'm terrified I wont reach my expectations and I too have been so diligent. Do you suffer PCOS? I know that this interferes with loss and of course so does your 'cycle'. Maybe contact your consultant and see if there is any help there. Maybe you need to do some light excercise??? Oh, I don't know I hope this doesn't dampen your spirits too much. You're my mentor after all! Please hang in there - it will work out I'm sure. Are you keeping up your water intake? Your multi's don't contain any baddies do they? I don't know what to say...but you'll get through, at least the scales are going in the right direction. And I tell you what, you're a hell of a way ahead than a lot of people - at least you have started and you will finish!

Lessfatty - Just out of interest, a good friend of mine went on sureslim and ended up in hospital! It cost her a lot more in money and of course due to her needing hospitalisation she never lost the weight. The thing that affected her the most was all the seeds and nuts you had to consume. It ended up blocking her intestinal tract - ouch! So, I am happy to stick with Cohen's! I was reading in the weekend newspaper (so it must be true!) about a team of US Scientists who have found the most effective way to lose weight. It sounded very similiar to Cohen's. They believe the protein to carb ratio, and the whole slow release stuff, is perfect for fat burning not simply fluid loss and muscle depletion. That gave me a little more encouragement!

Talk later....

8-2 Much- Thanks so much You have lifted my spirits "your mentor" thats so nice

Well I am drinking 3L per day nothing less, My Multi's are what my consultant gave me, Im having 4 crackers a day, Only 1 peice of Fruit at the moment... ive been slack!! Should I up my fruit??.. Ok i think i might just add in the extra peice of fruit and see how i go.. or up the water and cut out salt.. completely!!..

Oh and no i dont have PCOS But that was a good thought aswell!!

Work is extreamly Stressfull at the moment aswell, ive been having to take Evening Primrose Oil's because im so stressed.. that could also be slowing it down..??

I wont give up , i just drive myself a little nuts at times... i feel im trying "too hard"!!!

Hi ~BAM~

You poor little love, and i mean that sincerely. I cannot think why you wouldn't be losing, cos as lessfatty says, we really aren't consuming that many calories. So the weight should be coming off.

I've read in some of the earlier posts that eating fish 3 days in a row can help speed up weight loss. If you can have fish for all 3 meals, do that, (I can only have it for Meals 1 and 2), cos anything is worth a shot.

You did lose a whole lot of weight in your first week so maybe your body is waiting to catch up.

you're a gorgeous girl, so please, don't give up

Hi Slinkee

Thankyou very much for your kind words, it means alot to me

As for the fish.. I dont really like fish.. Maybe i should start liking it..??

Well the 1st week i lost 4.5kg's (Which i think was mostly fluid)..

Then the 2nd week i lost approx 2kg's...

Then the rest over the other weeks...

I just had a look at the Calender.. I have only been on Cohen's for 4 weeks and 1 day.. Maybe i think ive been on it longer.. and i should shut up with my complaining!! Oh my god, i thought i had been on it longer!!!

Im sorry everyone, you must all think im a crazy woman..

Maybe i should just shut up and see how the next month goes..

Hi Everyone

Great to see y'all doing so well..... There's been a small amount of movement on my scales but not enough to warrant a ticker update so i'll hold off for a minute.

AnywayBAM - don't stress lovey... I've had weeks go by without scales movement... It just kinda happens that way and then one day you weigh yourself and boom, 2kgs gone. Maybe you're one of the slow ones too like me and Netski and Lizzi. It's unfortunate... but if you're doing all the right things it should come off eventually. It's taken me 6 months to lose what other people have lost in 4 months... it's frustrating but at least it's coming off. And a 1kg loss is better than a 1kg gain! Something that always used to work for me was not weighing myself for a few days and then getting on the scales and being pleasantly suprised.. maybe you should give that a go?

Anyway, keep us posted. Good luck!
