Rep Power: 0 | | Good evening!!! Sounds like Alfred Hitchcock hey ha ha, god i used to love that show when i was a teenager oh so long ago. Happymummy hey we are probably related somewhere along the line LOL my maiden name is Muscat and my Dad and his family are from Gozo and Valetta small world hey, I bet he loves pastitsi and baked macaroni?? My Nan made the best food ever and they make sure you eat eat eat. If my relatives saw what was on my daily menu they'd freak out. Lisab keep chasin my tail I need it I was thinking you and I are pretty close weightwise, im 166cm and the cohen weight set for me was 61 to 64kg but i'll settle for 68kg im solid frame and did weightlifting many years ago so im hoping the muscles are still under there. I plan to get into my exercise routine again soon the hot weather has been unbearable and doesnt cool down until bedtime then im buggered. But id rather exercise here at home I know the perving would be a good option but theres too many youngsters at the gym these days for me to perve at, although i did see a very cute older lifeguard at the pool a couple of weeks ago nice eyecandy but only looking. Welcome Hollygolightly and dont apologise for the long post we love to listen and goodluck with losing your weight, everyone on this forum is awesome so uplifting and motivating, there are so many of you gals from Melbourne on here now you should have a cohens get together. Nat what do you do at the shopping centre?? Well im off to hit the hay and i'll talk to you all again thanks to everyone that mentioned me in there post and i'll be staying away from temptation and i hope you all do to. Goodnite sweetdreams. Love Audrey Hepburn - good choice of image!
Don't be discouraged by slow weight loss in the first 4 weeks. For me it was only 6kilos. And although it has been slow I am getting there. YOU WILL TOO. So just do what you can and enjoy the journey. |

Well I have completed day 4 back on Cohen's, and I'm still feeling a bit hungry. Last night was really bad so I drank heaps of tea and went to bed early. I'm hoping that the hunger will soon disappear. I am really wanting to go back to Curves, but not game to until the hunger settles down a bit.
Nat - Excellent weight loss. Well done. Don't forget you lose more weight on the re-feed. I lost another 2.5kg.
I also thought I would be happy a heavier weight than cohens set for me, but now I've sat on this weight for a while, I'm really itching to get the last bit off. Cohen's set me a goal of 57-60 kg. When I started weighing 112kg this seemed totally unachievable, but now weighing 75kg it seems much more realistic. I'm still aiming for 60-65kg which is a bit more than what they say, but I think I'll be happy there.
lizzi - thanks for your kind words. I am determined to get this last bit of weight off, and get on with the rest of my life. I feel so positive and have this wonderful feeling of wellbeing when I'm on Cohen's. I love it!
Holly Golightly - welcome to the board. Don't worry to much about the slow weight loss in the first month. Just check you are doing everything properly. Drink heaps of water (this really helps), check the batteries in your food scales as if these are going flat they can weigh your food incorrectly, and if you eat salt, cut back on it. Hopefully this will help, but remember, any loss is good loss!!
I feel so good I have enroled in a university course through Open Universities doing accountancy, and plan to look for a couple of days work in one of the local banks. Worked in a bank years ago ( when I first left school), but then moved more into the accounts side of things, so I thought that I may as well get qualified and when the kids are a bit older and I want to go back to full time work, I'll be paid properly for the work I do. I am wanting the part time work at the moment mainly to keep me busy. I find I eat most when the kids are at school, hubby is at work and I'm here by myself, so if I'm not here I'm hoping I won't eat as much.
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you soon.

Rep Power: 0 | | Day 5 ..and going strong with those wheels of steel!!
Today at work I came in and there was this MASSIVE chocolate cake just sitting there on the table (this being a table that I have to walk past every 5 minutes) . i managed to get through the day without any !! yay!!! and even with people coming round and saying "Had the cake yet?? its delicious!!!!" so i did well.
i guess haven't felt like eating much really anyway... its silly that i've got so upset about it but an ex who i'm still really close to, and the only reason he's an ex is cuz he just hurt me too much when we were together - anyway... he said he's just been diagnosed with cancer. i don't know anything else cuz i burst into tears and had to hang up. he's known for 3 weeks and didn't think i would really care. so i told him of course i care and he should have known that and then he said "yeah, i know u do". so i've been in tears and i guess everyone can tell something is wrong cuz i'm not my normal bubbly, happy laughing self. and as soon as they say, "something wrong?" or "are you okay?" i just start again.
anyway... this is a weight-loss forum, not some cancer-councelling service. but its' off my chest now. sorry.
hope everyone's going well. and hope to be in a better mood next time i post. also the weight isn't going as quick as i wanted... but it still did move .2kg. yay. |

Rep Power: 0 | | lisab - I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. It's not silly at all, it's natural to be upset to hear about the illness of someone you are close to, regardless of your history with that person. Just know that everyone here is very willing to listen, that's why I was finally able to come forward and start posting. xx
Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcome. I really, really appreciate it.
Had a fairly good day today but I'm having trouble with the water. I've only had 2L today and if I have anymore now I'll be up all night in the loo! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi Gals! Lisa B Sorry to hear that you've been given such terrible news. Its hard news to take and its understandable that you should be upset. The ladies that post on the forum are a pretty understanding and supportive bunch, so feel free to get things off your chest when you need to. We know how hard it is to follow Cohen's in everyday life, let alone through the hard times and we're all here for you. Casey- Good to see your renewed focus is keeping you on the wagon! Just keep thinking of how much you'll enjoy watching those kilos melt off! Holly Golightly- Keep persevering with the water- it seems to be the key. And dont worry, your bladder will settle down soon. I drink 3L of water daily, usually by 6 or 7pm and then drink fizz on top of that,(my nighttime sweet treat) but dont have any night time troubles. Good thing too- I get grumpy with out my sleep.
My news today is that I have dropped ANOTHER 400g (thats 400g for two days in a row!)- weighing in today at 55.8kg!!!!!!! I'm very happy with this weeks loss and definitely encouraged to keep on keeping on.
Hope everyone has a great weekend- I'm sure I will probably post sometime Sat or Sun.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Lose weight and get rich! Cryss you're the only one driving the wagon. Your friend should have known better. So unless she tied your hands and force fed you... tut tut! But I think Jabba is not the most flattering thing to compare - at least make it an attractive fatty - like Miss Piggy or something. We might be big girls, but we are still beautiful!
All us habitual wagon jumpers should start some friendly competition. If you break, you have to do something horribly boring and domestic like clean the oven or weed the garden for an hour or two. I think logging on here at the end of the day reporting our progress will make it a bigger incentive. Divinemissnat you are going so well. You should be nearly finished soon? What is your final target? HollyGolightlythey key is not drinking too much at one time. Your body won't process the water properly if you try and cram it in later in the day - you will just end up peeing the water out. I found when I stopped drinking 3L a day around Christmas (when I broke the diet) I felt like crap. Water is such a key factor in this diet - but if you are managing 2L that's fine... build yourself up to 3L slowly and your bladder will get used to it! Lisab my work has been bombarded with cakes for the last few weeks! It always seems to be someones birthday dammit! Cake cake cake cake... blah blah blah! I'm just glad the kitchen is the other side of the building! Good work keeping away! You should buy yourself something as a reward when you have such control - it's just another way to treat yourself.
One thing I did notice when I was being super good... how much MONEY I saved! 3x coffees a day - about $2400 savings a year! Dinner out for 2 - at least $100 a week! Shopping days cheap as! Sweet! Lose weight and get rich!
Just sitting here watching Rage. If you haven't seen the new Pink video clip... OMG! hehehehe FUNNY! She takes the pi$$ out of all the skinny minnies - got a chuckle out of me. Have a fab weekend all. |

But you have to understand this girl does it EVERY F#$%KIN week, her and her bf are close friends so they know everything about this diet. And she STILL insists on doing it. I am allowed a little venting time before I self flagellate! flag·el·late (flăj'ə-lāt')
tr.v., -lat·ed, -lat·ing, -lates.
To whip or flog; scourge.
To punish or impel as if by whipping
if nothing else it makes me angry and determined to show her and her skinny arrogant bf that I am NOT a lazy fat Jabba and that I do have control and I WILL BE THIN!
see ya off for my 5k walk

Rep Power: 0 | | I'm burning my wagon Hi Everyone,
I need to be chastised. Or sent to my room. I would have finished this diet weeks ago if I could stop stuffing 'goodies' in my mouth. I was so bad yesterday I can't even tell you what I did.
So..............I am burning my wagon. I've decided that my old rickety wagon is no way to travel this journey. I'm gonna do it in style. I'm building a bonfire under my wagon and saying good riddance.
Instead...I am getting myself a nice shiny BMW convertible to do this journey in. (red of course cos they go faster!) Cryss..I'm picking you up and we are going for a spin together.
As always ladies, your stories are wonderful and I enjoy reading them so much. Keep posting! Myshy

At least I'm consistant. And the tortoise always arrives. Cryss: Peer pressure can be one of the hardest things. You have to believe in yourself. You are a person of value just like them. What you think, and what you need, is also important. So the more you believe that, the easier it will be to act on it. When you do, they will step back out of respect. If you believe in yourself and what you are doing, they will work around you. And if they don't, it won't matter as much. As you said earlier, it isn't only about weight loss, it's about a life time of habits and ways of responding. This program can grow us as people as well as shrink us as people!! Casey: Great to see you moving forward. You will be blitzing the field in no time. divinemissnat: well done! So good isn't it when we can see the results. Two days in a row with great losses - the celebration time is getting closer. To those who are doing well: jump on and tell us so we can all feel motivated. To those who are breaking or finding it tough: this is a fab place for finding the guts to go on.
There must be hundreds of people doing Cohens. Wouldn't it be great if ...there were a constant stream of entries as everyone kept us posted - cheaper and more personal than buying magazines - hey, it also means we get to read weight loss stories while it's actually happening. We all have something to contribute to each others progress. So Cohen's people .. log on, post, and reap the benefits.
