Hey Jude (sorry couldn't help myself), Welcome and congratulations on your weight loss, I can't wait until I'm over the halfway point in my weight loss journey.

Now about dizziness, to be honest, for me it comes and goes, I'll have a good couple of weeks, then one week it's all topsey turvey.

Now I don't want anyone yelling at me cos I go off the diet, but during these dizzy periods, I actually have a bit more protein in my meals, I add an extra egg white to my brekkie omlette and maybe 20grms of meat to my meals. I can't say I know what happens, but I do know I feel better and it has never impacted my loss. I'm not reccomending anyone 'cheat' so before you start typing hate mail, STOP. I'm just telling you what I have done to combat the dizziness. Another thing you can do is drink more water and ensure you are taking all your vitamins, which it appears most of you do.

The tea is leathal, only drink it if you are constipated. You will pay greatly if you are drinking it and you are feeling normal in the plumming department!

Anyway, I'm off to put me feet up and watch a DVD while the boy is interstate, love being single every now and again!

Wee story, he had a packet of caramel Tim Tams in the fridge, normally I wouldn't give a rats ass, but for some reason, oh my I looked at them EVERYTIME I opened the fridge. Anyway before he left, I told him "either take em or eat em but don't leave em" he's like, "well if I open them you might have one, but I didn't think if I opened them you would" I'm like, "the way I'm feeling today, I'd eat em and buy a replacement packet by the time you got back, so TAKE EM!" Which he did, good boy! very good boy!

see ya Shrinkin Chicks!

Stupid Hermesetes!!!!

Thanks Pink Virgo for finding out that info about hermesetes - thank god you did!!!
I'm about to smash the stupid bloody jar - of which I've used 3/4 of since I first started on the program - just noticed the stupid fructofibres label on the front as I was making my cup of green tea!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
What a pain in the arse hey!!!!! So what other sweetners are we allowed to use??? In my program it only lists either hermesetes or sugarine......

Frustrated from doing it 100% only to find out that I've been held back through no fault of my own...........

Take care girls!
Will post again after my dreaded 4 week weigh in on Friday morning.

I know the frustration!

Not much time but ... Morning everyone - especially welcome Jude.
Tash* and Pink Virgo: Yea I know the frustration. I was using the wrong sugar substitute for a while without knowing, and then I found out and changed to stevia which I thought was OK and it wasn't, then changed again to sugarine and hermesetes - the tablet which is OK. I was so frustrated when I found out because I had been 100% too.
the bottom line is it doesn't necessarily affect the weight loss. Nothing changed when I changed what I took.
Where this program is different is that it isn't just about the weight loss. It is about what is happening to our body and it's chemistry. The wrong sugar substitute or anything else we get wrong will not necessarily make the scales any different, but it will show up on the blood test. And if it shows up there then it is affecting our system and therefore the refeed and rebalancing for our future after. So when we break, either accidentally or intentionally, that is the greatest potential of harm to us - not just the scales.
Having said that, I have been assured that at that small level it will be Ok, and you still get a good result. I just want the absolute bestest result!! So I was pretty frustrated. In the end, it will be OK though so don't panic, just make the change. And go to it. It is still early in your program and all should be fine.
Welcome back rjm! I'm in your corner!
Good on you about the tim tams Cryss.
myshy: so so fantastic. You are an inspiration!! Enjoy normality!!!
I got to go.
Lizzi

Hi everyone. Yes I'm back, and I made it through the first day back on Cohens YAYYYY, and was rewarded with a huge 1.5kg drop on the scales. I know this is just fluid, but I don't care. It is just so encouraging. I am feeling great. Not at all hungry or craving anything, and I know I will get to the finish line this time.
With the sweeteners, I was told you could only use the hermesetes tablets, not the powder. Does anyone know if these are still ok. Good to know that sugarine is the other one that is ok. Thanks Lizzi.
Cryss- you did so well to dispose of those tim tams. Don't you just love it when the other half goes away for a little while and you get a bit of you time. Mine very rarely goes away, but my girls and I just love it when he does. We usually do something drastic like paint a room or something when he is gone.
Jude- Welcome. What a terrific effort losing 45 kg. Well done. Sorry I haven't experienced any dizziness, so can't be of any help there.
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you soon.
Beck

Hey Cryss, thanks for the giggle and the advice. I hadn't thought of extra protein, but I have had an extra piece of fruit when I was desperate. It must be a blood sugar thing.
Have you thought about chrominium? I was reading your tim tam tale - don't you feel GOOOOOD!!! I must say that as a chocolateholic, even though I like the thought, I am not even interested in putting it near my mouth. Different from before when it consumed my every action. I think the chominium helps get rid of all these cravings.

Lizzi - you're right this is a learning curve. I found out that having one cherry tomatoe in my lunch every day for a week sent me bonkers. Made me go back and read the book again.

When thinking of the "could have beens" I also take into account the weight I would have put on if I had not benn doing this - imagine!!!!

Kaseysmum - thanks.

Myshy - Congratulations on the refeed. How exciting. Does it feel like you are entering a whole new world? Is this the end of your Cohen's visits?

Rjm - just think you never have to go back to where you were two days ago let alone 112k. Just get there and tell me what I have to look forward too.

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post for me today. I have the ultimate in torture today.......a Cadbury promotion. Little teensy weensy bars begging for me to eat them. I honestly don't thik I will be able to do these promotions again - they are way too tempting.

Re: dizziness. I would either have my fruit, crackers or a diet coke during this time. I have quite low blood pressure normally and this diet lowers it even more.

Cryss...........champion!!. I'd probably have eaten the packet and replaced it.

Jude - Welcome & congratulations on such a big loss!

Today I am 'officially' on my own diet wise. I get my 'after' plan Friday.

I will weigh in tommorow and let you know what I have lost altogether.

Nat - Thanks for the coffee yesterday, I hope I haven't jinxed you. BTW...you are better looking than Jessica Rowe with your new hair colour. It looks FANTASTIC!

Thats it........keep up the good work ladies,

Myshy

Hello ladies and welcome Jude.

I tried the magic tea last night, that everyone raves about and guess what - this morning I was down another 2kg! I am super impressed and will make it a nightly ritual from now on.

Myshy Good luck out there in the post-Cohen's world. I can't wait to join you, but at the same time, I know I'll be scared when I get there!

RJM Congrats on jumping back on to the wagon. This time you'll get across that finishing line, for sure.

Chryss Your sense of humor and self control are amazing - good on you.

I saw a cooking show last night (I know - I'm a masochist!) and the chef did something really interesting: dressed mango and strawberries in balsamic vinegar. Now I know we can't have strawberries but mango is definitely on the list so I'm going to try it. He only used a little bit and said it really brings out the natural flavour of the mango... I'll try it out and let you all know if it is any good or not.

Am taking off tomorrow on an extended long weekend but pre-packing all my meals tonight so I'll be good and not make any slips along the way. Hope you all have a great long weekend and remember to stay strong and focussed!

Good morning all! Hope everyone is having a great day!
First up - Big CONGRATS to Myshy! You must be absolutely stoked! Good for you!
Moneypenny you are just firing along! Your loss is huge in such a short time! Well done!
Diamonds how did your long weekend down south go?

Well, it's Day 1 of Week 3 for me, and I'm 6.2kg down, so pretty happy with that! Every day is a day closer to goal!
Yesterday I had a clinic appointment, and my consultant suggested not having cheese for lunch if i had already had yoghurt for breakfast, i didn't think at the time to ask why (i'm a bit of a loosehead at times!) but at least i know now - every bit helps!

Hope you all have a great 100% on the wagon day!

Lou

Hey hey

Hi everyone,

Glad I was able to bring the sugar thing to the attention of those people who were using it. I understand what LIZZI said about it not necessarily affected the scales, more so our blood tests. My 4-week blood test came back as 'boarderline deviate' so the sugar is most likely the culprit.
TASH - I bought NutriSweet, which is used in most diet soft drinks so I'm pretty sure this one is ok to use ( besides it's only made outta the chemicals and no sugar/fruit substance is used ).

CRYSS - Well done on avoiding those tim tams! I must say, yesterday at work all I could think about was food... I kept having bizzaro cravings! For pizza, hot cross buns but mainly for chocolate! It was strange because I usually don't get real cravings ( by real I mean other than emotional 'I want just cos' cravings )... but then I realised I'd forgotten to take my multi-vit and chromium in the morning. So I proved to myself that the tabs really do work!

PRINCESSLOU - What a fantastic loss in 3 weeks!! You must be so proud of yourself. You're getting closer to that goal each day. Well done.

CHRYSTELLE -You asked how much I had lost in 6 weeks. I lost 8.1kg. A little less than what I'd hoped for but still great nonetheless ( especially since I'd been having sugar I shouldn't have been, stupidly using pre-cooked meat now and then, and perhaps eating cheese too many times a week ).

JUDE - Welcome to the forum. What an amazing loss you've accomplished! Yet another inspiring story to add to all of the others on here!

So about this
TEA... Oh... my.... God! Well, it certainly works and I think I needed it to work ( if you know what I mean ) ... but was I supposed to feel so awful?! I woke up the morning after taking the tea with the worst cramps... in my drowsiness I thought I'd gotten my period... then realised it was the tea. I honestly had bad cramps, nausea and felt week for two hours... in between running to the loo several times. Am I just one of the really unlucky ones who the tea affects badly? Or is this a normal thing? Having said though, that I was at death's door for a whole two hours, once my body had finally rid itself of the last of the waste, I was immediately feeling better. It was strange. I went from wanting someone to bop me over the head cos I felt so horrible, to feeling 100% again in a matter of moments. WERID people, WEIRD!

Does anyone here know someone on SureSlim? There's a girl at work on it and we've been comparing notes... it's so strange how similar yet different the programs are. One thing they can have once a day instead of a couple of crispbreads is stuff called "Mountain Bread". Apprently it's somewhat like kebab bread only paper thin.. and SureSlim recommend having that over crispbreads because it's less processed. It looks so yummy when she has her salad and chesse wrapped up in a piece! I'm going to look into the nutritional value and ingredients of the mountain bread vs. the crispbreads we can eat. I'm interested to know the difference.

Keep up the great work guys ( sorry I dribble on so much! )

Take Care xox

Hi PinkVirgo,
I read on a forum we used to use that Sure Slim was started by someone who had previously completed Cohens. Don't know if this is true, but could explain why they are similar. Why don't you call your clinic and ask them about the mountain bread. Might be a nice change.
Talk to you soon.
Beck

hey this is really interesting, in my pre Cohen days, my absolute FAVORITE dessrt was fresh strawberries, brown sugar, balsamic and King Island Cream!! STUNNING .. needless to say, it was the KIC that assisted in getting me to the size I was, so maybe it wasn't that stunning!

That, my dear was normal , it's exactly what we who have used it find really hard to explain.

Horrid sensation, but successful outcome!

Hi Everyone,

Everyone is going so well. Very encouraging!

Pink Virgo - Very interesting about the mountain bread, I used to make pizza on it (very yummy).
Please keep us all posted.

I think I will have to buy the dieters tea tomorrow, and make sure I don't have any plans for Saturday morning : )

I must say it is getting difficult seeing all the hot cross buns & Easter eggs in shops!

Those of us who have a long weekend enjoy.

K
