Hey Wannabe

I cant claim 100% credit for that recipie as I have adapted it from one in the Cohen's cookbook- just added a little more magic and a method Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it, it is really such a yummy treat that everyone can enjoy!

I am doing really well on the program and am steaming ahead! Nothing is going to hold me back now and I can see my goal in site. I have decided that I am going to keep eating this way when I finish and just add extra food and variety into my life. I really am passionate about maintaining the new me and my confidence has increased 100% so far.

How are you going with cohen's? I havent seen you around for a bit but I hope your happy and healthy

Hi Nicole, One of the things that I really love about Cohen's is that your attitude to food changes. I think part of the reason is that food is restricted and nothing is unlimited, even water or lettuce. It makes you really think about everything that you eat. Until doing Cohen's I had only a fleeting interest in nutrition. Now I'm fascinated & don't want to eat anything that is not good for me. It's not only the fact that Cohen's helps us get to our goal weight, something I thought was almost impossible, but you feel so good eating healthily that you don't want to go back.
You sound so positive and will be an asset to a future employer. Hopefully you will find something that you will love and that pays well!
Is it still raining cats and dogs over there?
Cheers for now, Cate.

My boobs are no longer pendulous, Nicky chick, but let's just say I'm glad the boulder strapping now comes in smaller sizes...

My journey is a bit derailed right now, so I'll be on it for a while to come. Too many issues to deal with unfortunately, too much stress. Just deciding whether I keep trying to row the hard road alone, rejoin the clinic, or go and get medical help to sort my head out and keep going myself. All too hard... (so meanwhile procrastinates another day...) Our lives are kind of returning to a bit more normality after some weeks of severe stress of the worst kind (for a mum anyway!) so I hope that I can refocus on my own needs instead of everyone else's for a while! I'm not sleeping real well, which doesn't help with the day's efforts and organisation. Never mind, I think even when life dishes up its worst, you have to find a way to live each new day and just get on with it as best you can. (Talking to myself here!!!).

Hope you're doing well - your ticker is blitzing it, so well done!!!!!!!

I have a mini-goal in son number 2's wedding in a few weeks - really want to drop my tum a bit before then. Give me a big kick up the bum, please, I definitely need it!

Hey Niyah

Sorry to hear your a little derailed right now. I know that being on cohens means you really need to be in a good place mentally to be able to manage the restrictiveness of the program. Having to weight everything and be super organised doesn't always comply with having a sick child. I really hope your son in getting better or that they are able to treat what is wrong with him. Even though I dont have children I can grasp how stressful it must be for a mother when something goes wrong.

Hope your doing better and try to be gentle on yourself if your feeling stressed. In saying that you did ask for a kick?!? lol So hear in a nudge

Take care
xx

Okay so I am steeeeeeaming along at the moment

Cant believe my loss today for one week of 1.7kg's!!!!! WOW cohen's is truely amazing. I haven't had a loss like that for a while and normally I expect around 1.2-1.3kg's. I could NEVER loose that on ANY other diet or program I have tried and even without exercise and no cravings or hunger at all? What the????

I am so glad that I made the decision to do the program 100% without any deviations (since I have moved to London). As from previous experiences once I deviate I find it VERY hard to stay focused and recommit.

Anyone that is reading this and having a hard time trying to start or re-start the program remember this- the first 4 weeks are the hardest, once you have resolved in your mind you are going to do this and do it 100% something happens in your body and it becomes second nature. I think sometimes we need to speak to ourselves and stop listening to what we are saying and the excusses we are making. I know for sure there is ALWAYS going to be a reason why we cant do the program right now like we have a wedding to go to in a few weeks or a holiday planned. If you want something enough and are desperate for change you will do it NO MATTER WHAT the circumstance!
It is coming up next month for my wedding anniversary of 1 year and we really wanted to go on a holiday to Spain or even a weekend away somewhere. I have decided that instead of doing this right now when I need to focus 100% on the program that it's best to wait and to celebrate once I finish. This is a small sacrifice for a HUGE gain (or loss).

I also think it is very important to have people around you who will celebrate when your celebrating and weep when your weeping. Having a support network is key and I have realised the boost you get from other people being there for you can really propell you forward.

Before being on this forum I had such a problem with my weight and my attitude. I never told anyone how much I weigh and after years and much probing I finally told my husband through tears. I was just so ashamed of what I had become that I couldn't face even looking at the scales. I feel since being in here (the forum) that I really defeated the demon of having my weight control my life and being so scared of a number. It sounds ridiculous but I was so terrified of someone finding out how much I weighed I wouldn't even weigh myself so I truley didn't know. Getting "real" and acknowledging my issue and making an effort to better myself has really helped me emotionally and mentally. I now feel like I have so much more confidence and the feeling that I can actually get to my goal is so inspiring. I no longer feel helpless and out of control but I feel sereen and at peace with my weight. I still have a few kg's to go but the thought of knowing that I will and CAN get there is amazing.

I hope you all are doing well on your journies and are starting to feel better about yourselves. Sorry for all the spelling mistakes lol I normally check it.

Also discovering new bones every week is rather cool. I can now feel all my ribs, sternum, shoulder, hip and collar bones WOW I never realised I had lost them lol!

xxx nicole

Hi all

Just made a yummy dinner and am now full so I thought I would come and report on what I made. I call it
...

Thai beef lettuce cups

Ingredients (all allowance)
Beef minced or if you cant get it like me finely chopped into tiny pieces
x1 Iceberg lettuce leaf/cup
15g chopped onion
Zucchini
Capsicum
Fresh chilli
Fresh ginger
Fresh Corriander
Salt, Pepper and chilli powder

Method
Chop zucchini, onion, capsicum, chilli and ginger into tiny pieces (about the same size as the pieces of meat). Fry in a small frypan until onion is brown then add beef mince.
Fry until cooked/brown.

Chop corriander. Serve the beef in the lettuce cup and add the corriander on top with a sprinkle of S&P and chilli powder. Roll the beef up like your making a burrito and eat straight away. YUM

Dessert:

Melon slice

Chop Honeydew melon up in thin slithers. Serve on top of your favourite white crackers and let sit for a min for some of the juice to soak in. Ultra YUM
To me this tastes like apple slice or something naughty :-)

For when your out having coffee with a friend and dont feel like a fizzy or hot drink
Iced Americano

Order a double Espresso and grab a large cup of ice (to the top) and a glass of water.
Add your sweetener to the hot Espresso to disolve then pour over the ice and make the rest up with water! This is my favourite treat for going out :-)

So that's it for today. I am really enjoying being on Cohen's and this is not a diet for me it is a lifestyle change!

xxx nicole

Hello Nicole daarrling, I'm loving reading your diary & literally seeing & hearing your positivity. It is contagious & makes me smile & also brings back some memories. It's fantastic that Cohen's came along at the right time & changed our lives for the better. People can choose to moan about Cohen's being restrictive or they can embrace it & learn to be creative, like you. Good for you , xoxo Cate.

Hello hello all would be slimmers

I know I have been a little quiet in the last few days but that's cause I have been working some crazy hours doing some freelance design. I cant believe how good the money is and going from $12 (AUD) to $40 (AUD) per hour has been a dream come true! I realise how lucky I am right now but I know it wont last forever even though I wish it would. I have been covering for another designer who has Swine flu (lol) but sshe seems to be getting better so my hours will start drying up soon. What bliss working 2 days a week instead of 5 and getting paid so well

Okay so yesterday I made the most horrible Tom Yum soup. I tell you when you experiment you can go horribly wrong. The annoying thing is that I made my soup taste really bad but made my husband (who isn't on cohen's) the same soup but made it great for him?!? Never mind, it was the worst, most bitter, most spicy meal that I ever had to force down. Ow ha ha ha that reminds me of the other worst meal I made- I made the yummy prawn recipie and put it on my plate ready to eat just adding pepper when the lid fell off and there was about a tablespoon of pepper in my prawns. lol It was SO hot and I just had to bear it cause it was late.

Only 900g lost for me this week. Guess it's evening the 1.7kg loss from last week out. I can REALLY see a huge difference in my body now and all my clothes are starting to fall off of me. This is good and bad, as I dont have spare cash right now to buy new clothes When I get closer to my goal I will invest in some lovely new bits and bobs though.

Hope everyone is still doing great on their programs and are sticking it out as it is 100% worth it for the results!!!

xxx

Hi Nicole

I just wanted to say what an inspiration you have been too. I have started today so it's pretty early on for me but when I read your diary I am so inspired. I realise too that this community is a great support and I am so grateful for that.

The recipes are also great so thank you. I think the key for me will be to try and keep the meals interesting. I will have to experiment with herbs and spices. I also have a sweet tooth usually - although not sure how much of that is my mind - so the dessert recipes are great.

You have lost such a lot. How long has it taken? I hope to follow in your footsteps.

Sue

Oooowww thanks so much guys that is just SO lovely to hear

Willbeslim- I have been on cohen's for 20 weeks in which time I have lost 29kg's. My ticker say's 34kg's but prior to starting my new program I lost 5kg's. Having lost so much already I can confirm that this is THE BEST program ever and that it is more than possible to loose xxx amount of kg's. You will be suprised how fast it comes off you if you stick to the program 100%, they say one deviation is equivilant to 1 week worth of weight-loss so I wouldn't even bother deviating (SO not worth it).

What I am excited about is that I am only a couple more kg's away from no longer being clinically over-weight!!!! Wooo hoo that is something to smile about. Dr Cohen does give us a low goal weight in regards to BMI but I feel as though I can get there and that it is going to be SO AMAZING to venture into the 70's in not too long. I would say about another 5 weeks and I will be approching those 70's with some fervour!!!!! YAY I haven't been there for about 5-6 years and the last time I was in the 60's was when I was in year 5 at school :-( Sad but true. I have always been very tall for my age group (5'11) and was put into school a year early so that made it even harder growing up. I guess we all have to get over our childhood and focus on the now though. I am not looking back, I am only looking forward to the new, gorgeous, happy and confident person that I am becoming!

Hope your all having the most fantastic week and I look forward to reading all your diaries and see how your going!!! I am off to make some yummy Asparagas and chicken soup for dinner.. mmmmm mmm

GO team Cohen's!!!!!!

xxx London darling
