Your weight loss is really good, Sue, so hope you are feeling really proud of yourself for taking this big step and turning your life around. Very empowering.

Will be back sometime when internet is working again at work - get frustrated with this slow home one!

Thanks Niyah. Yes I am feeling good about myself. Some days are just easier than others tho.

Today I feel really tired. I am not sure if it's because of the hot weather we are having at the moment. It's only the start of spring and it feels like a summer's day. I am also feeling peckish today. Maybe that's because of TOM.

I try to space out my snacks so that I have something for after supper but right now I feel like eating! I got a recipe for "diet biscuits" which I am going to try. You take the crackers, sprinkle with sweetener and cinnamon and bake for a few minutes. So I am going to make some and hopefully that will get me over this feeling. I will let you all know later once I have tasted them!

I tried to make a curry last night and it wasn't great but I ate it anyway. Anyone have a nice recipe for me?

Ok off to bake biscuits now!

BIGjim26 is on a distinguished road
Hey,
The way i make curry is i put water in a small frying pan, add garlic powder, curry powder and some balsamic vinegar, any other herbs you like. Then i add the meat or chicken.
Then while that is cooking i cut up tomato, onion and some cauliflower. Once it weighed and cut i add it to the pan and let it all cook.
I love it and it tastes lovely!!!

Hope you like it!!

I have finally completed my first 4 weeks.

After four weeks I have lost 9.2kg and 70cm in total.

It is amazing. I feel great. I can't believe that I have come so far in such a short time.

I look forward to the next part of this journey.

I'll be finished my 1st 4 weeks on Sunday. It's good to know there is someone around the same time as me. 9.2kgs WOOT!! You go girl!!

I'm hoping to try out a couple of new recipes this week, I'll post them here if they're any good. One of my favourites atm is the cauliflower cheese recipe: ( I have it for lunch) :
  • Cauliflower from veggie allowance, cook for 4 minutes in microwave
  • season with salt & pepper
  • mix in 1/2 cheese allowance of ricotta cheese
  • top with rest of cheese allowance of mozarella
  • sprinkle with paprika
  • stick under the griller mmm mmmm
Quick easy, and oh so yummy. I got it from the Cohens newsletter a couple of months back I think. Another one is chicken kiev:
  • chicken allowance crumbed with a cracker
  • cut a pocket in chicken breast,
  • sautee fresh garlic and spinach from veggie allowance, and stuff in to pocket of chicken
  • pan fry chicken until cooked, and serve with rest of veggie allowance
  • I usually make like a ratatouille from tomato, capsicum, zucchini, onion, mushroom, celery etc add a little water so it doesn't go too dry.
Yummo.

Sue, That is wonderful!! Say goodbye to 1/3 of yourself!!!! In one month!! Fantastic. keep up the good work Sue. Head down, bum up. That first month is the best incentive of all to stick with the program 100%. Cheers, Cate

Thanks everyone for all the support. It is going well. I had my first deviation dream last night where I was preparing some food it was some pastry of sorts and I took two bites. In my dream I was thinking that I wasn't allowed it, but I ate it anyway. Hasn't happened in real life though. Very strange.

It's going well. I am enjoying feeling lighter and my clothes are looser. I am fitting into some old jeans that I last wore about four years ago. I don't really want to buy more because it's a waste! Soon enough they wont fit!

I did go shopping last week and I bought two tops that are worn over jackets or skirts, they are quite dressy as I have some occasions coming up. I took a Large. The last time I bought large was a long long time ago. Feeling really great about that.

I do feel like I would like to get active, maybe some yoga or pilates or a slow walk. I will see how I feel.

Take care everyone.

Sue, I had some similar dreams when on Cohen's originally & literally woke in fright, thinking I had actually eaten off plan. Freaky! Check out Omega's diary in the main part of the forum & I think you'll understand why I say "a gentle walk is a wonderful idea!" Cheers, Cate

I went for my weekly weigh today. I am down another .9 to make a total of 10.2 on the plan. I am feeling a bit disappointed although I know I shouldn't. I have shed 12.8 altogether and that's the most I have ever lost on any diet. But I still can't shake this feeling. I think I need to give myself a kick up the butt. I have done well. My clothes are all a bit baggy. It's this instant gratification thing that we all have in this high speed world we live in, we want results now!

I do feel like I need to get moving though, but I am scared of affecting the weight shedding. But Cate, maybe a gentle walk or some yoga will do me good.

I promised myself that I would set myself 5kg goals and would reward myself each time I achieved a goal, so I guess I should go reward myself for achieving 2 goals so far.

I will be back later. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning. I know what you mean about instant gratification. It's like I can take Cohens for granted sometimes. I have to make myself stop and remember there IS NO other plan that works as fast as this one. It's so easy to get used to losing big numbers, that the small ones bug us, but I try and remind myself, I am probably around 4kgs ahead of where I'd be on any other program.

Be very happy, Sue, and don't forget to enjoy the journey! I'm more convinced than ever than weight loss is a bit like the "happiness journey" - take time out to enjoy the ride and don't think the reward is only at the end when you reach a magical number. It's easy to be impatient when we've been overweight for a long time, but you are doing the best thing you can to reverse the process and put in place long-term health measures now.

It'll only be a few short months and your life will be totally different - you will look different and feel different.

Thanks Niyah. I know I am on the right track and L-Jay is correct, there is no other plan which gives the same results. I am feeling better and I started walking at the gym, just a slow stroll on the treadmill for about 30 min and I feel good with it. I have also increased my water to 3 litres.

I am very focused. I have never stuck to any other diet like I am sticking to this one and that in itself motivates me.

So I will just carry on and try to enjoy the journey.

Thanks for the support.

Sue

Sue- I am so glad you are feeling better. It's a long haul when you have about 36kg to lose all up. I know because so did I. Until you get to half way it seems to take forever! It will get better. Your slow stroll on the treadmill will probably help you feel more positive. Beware the temptation to push yourself too far & risk hunger. Doesn't it feel so good to know that you feel so committed & strong. Give yourself lots of credit for being so strong & determined. We can't feel on top of it all the time but "keep your eye on the prize!"
xo Cate

I sat down the other day to do a long post, I was going to come back to it and the bloody electricity went so I lost the whole thing. Now I have to try to remember what I was going to say.

It was another good week for me this last week with a loss of 2kg. I think that's from the extra water and the exercise. I am feeling great and I hope that I will be hitting those 80's soon. The last time I was in the 80's was about 8 years ago and it didn't last long. I was one of those people who ended up weighing less after having a baby than before I was preg - but never lost any more when breastfeeding. A few months after the baby I was heavier than ever. Just as well I am now done with babies!

It is our fast on Mon and I am having a whole lot of people over on Mon night. I have been baking and making tuna lasagna and it has been so hard not to taste, but I have done it. I keep thinking that I have to keep going and get to goal, do refeed and then I will be able to eat these things again, but I know that if I go back to eating the way I used to, I will put on the weight again. I intend to do a lot of exercise to maintain and allow myself treats very occasionally.

A couple of my friends have noticed that I have lost weight. Only when I wear tighter clothes. I am fitting into some stretch denim jeans that are a size 18 and I last wore them about 5 yrs ago. People ask how much have I lost and I am reluctant to say because I am sure they are thinking - she's lost 15kg and she's still fat! These are people who consider themselves fat if they put on 1 or 2. Do they need to know the number?

Thanks as usual for the support.

I'll be back I am off to walk on the treadmill and drink some water!
