Rep Power: 59 | | Hi Sue, It sounds like you are going really well & are feeling strong, determined & positive. Good for you! Do you like tuna yourself? It might be a good idea to make a big serve of fish soup so that you can eat that when the others are eating your tuna lasagne. It's nice with asparagus (use the water from the can), celery & coriander. I used to find it helped if I made something really nice from the same ingredient that everyone else was having. Often they would look at mine with envy. I would also sometimes break up some crackers & throw them in as croutons. Excuse my ignorance and my curiosity but why do you fast? I assume it's a religious thing(?) Can you eat anything at all? Cheers for now & happy losing, xo Cate |

Rep Power: 21 | | No your friends don't need to know the number. Just tell them "I'm not really sure. A number on the scales isn't as important as my health". I know what you mean. I feel like that when I look at my ticker. My goal weight is less than what Cohens suggests, but I've been at their gw and lower, I used to be 62kgs. I can afford to be 58. That also gives me a couple of kgs to not freak out about. As long as I don't go over 62. When I look at my ticker I think, if any of my friends ask me how much I've lost, there is no way I can say. I'm going to try and be really vague about it.
I never look as big as what I really weigh, except undressed. Having height means it's easy to carry a bit more, and become too comfortable with it. So now I'm determined to be vigilant. |

Rep Power: 3 | | It was my weigh day today and I am pleased to say that I am down 1.4kg this week.
All of a sudden I am getting asked if I have shed weight. I am so pleased to be asked, I am like a puppy getting attention, if I had a tail it would wag. I can't stop from blurting out how much I have lost. Even though I know that it is counter productive. Oh well, they can just try to guess how much I weighed. I will never tell, not even hubby. By the way hubby gave a compliment last night. He said: you are looking good! Can't remember the last time he gave a compliment without me asking if I looked ok.
Also I bought a pair of size 16 jeans and although they are quite tight (muffin top and zip a bit squishy), I know that in a week or two they will be looser and then too big! How is that for being positive?
I love the exercise and I am sure that it helps with lowering the weight in addition to making me feel better. I have only exercised in the late afternoon or early evening for fear that I will be hungry. But I really want to try a bikram yoga session which are in the mornings and then see how I am for the rest of the day.
I am loving the journey, I feel empowered and motivated. I was also stressing about the fact that I am going away mid Dec and I wont be finished my plan then, but I have realised that it will take as long as it takes and that's the way it is. So I am not stressing any more.
One day at a time and I am truly loving feeling so much lighter. |

Your cruising through the numbers! I was like you and NEVER told anyone how much I weighed. I am starting to get over this now as I think it really caused me SO many issues over my short life. People will not believe that I used to weigh 120kg's as I never looked that big, I think people associate a certain look with a number so it is sometimes counter-productive to share it. I am thinking of just saying that I have lost a lot of weight and now I weight xxkg's. People seem to freak out when I say I have lost 40kg's and dont believe me lol.
I know your going to get to your goal and you have done SO well to loose so much already! Keep up the fab work and you will be finished in no time!

Rep Power: 3 | | Thanks Nicky it's so nice to hear words of encouragement from you and everyone else out there.
Cate, I am shorter than you and Nicky but when my consultant did a body composition analysis, that is the goal she suggested. I will get to this goal and then see how I am feeling and whether I should continue.
I finally did my 4 week bloods (only 4 weeks late mind you) and the good news is that my insulin is down from 24 to 11. This is still high but I am sure it will go down as I continue to shed the weight. My cholesterol is down (I am on lipitor) but it was 4.9 and now its 3.7 and my HDL is down within the normal range. This in itself is inspiring.
I love the fast results. Nothing else has ever worked for me. I feel like shouting from the rooftops. |

Rep Power: 12 | | | Hi Sue - haven't been around for a while, but glad to see things are going so well, specially for your health. And you've certainly lost enough to start getting some attention on the weight side too!!! It's great when people start to say things - you really KNOW it's working when you get that unsolicited feedback from people. |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Hi Niyah I was wondering where you have been. Hope everything is going well for you.
Some days are still a bit rough. Some days are great. But I guess that's how life is.
I do enjoy the feedback but sometimes I wait for a comment and it doesn't come! Then I start to think that maybe it isn't noticeable, although it really is. I have to get out of the need for affirmation from others and give it to myself. That way if I get it from others it's a bonus. It's all a really big learning curve.
Thanks for popping by. |

Rep Power: 59 | | Hi Sue, I know just where you're coming from. I used to need positive reinforcement from others to feel self-worth and to feel valuable. How you feel about yourself matters so much more. Without self love we are not really able to love others well or live our lives to the full. By learning to love ourselves it also radiates out to others & we become more attractive. By that I don't mean in a physical way but more in a way that people are attracted to you because you radiate a good feeling generally. It seems to permeate outwards and then extends to life in general & the people around you.
It doesn't matter what anyone says or doesn't say. What matters is how we react & what we believe. Believe in yourself Sue. Well done on sticking to Cohen's & getting slimmer every single moment of every lovely day. We learn about ourselves & each other all the time & that's not a bad thing. Take care & love yourself as you are worth loving, xoxo Cate |

Rep Power: 3 | | | Thanks Cate for your kind words. I can't believe it's been a week since I posted on my diary. I have been reading every day though.
So another good week this week. I am down 2.1kg. A grand total of 20.3. I am so pleased.
I am well past halfway now and I am an 80's girl. A lot of people have noticed now. Someone said to me today that she has never seen me this slim before!
I am also not wearing my baggy clothes so much as I feel like I am drowning in them and they just make me look that much bigger. I feel like I am now ready to post pics, but I will keep them private for friends only as I am not ready to share with the world. Still thinking about it though.
I am also feeling a bit like this is all too good to be true. But I do realise that this part is easy and the hard part will come with maintaining. But I think I am ready for that when it comes. Bring it on!
Have a good day everyone! |

Rep Power: 3 | | Thanks Nicky and Cate. It's a good feeling to know that I have less to go than before.
Nothing tastes as good as slim feels. The saying is true and I am not really slim yet, but the feeling that you get really is amazing. No chocolate can quite compare. On a lighter note they have just released a mint flake (choc), which seems to be haunting me. Because everywhere that I go I see it and it's calling to me but I am ignoring it. Before I would have bought four and devoured them all at once. People keep asking me if the diet is hard, and I am generally finding it easy. I guess I am lucky and my head is finally in the right place for me to do this.
I am now so tired, I should go to sleep. My baby, well she's not really a baby any more still doesn't sleep through the night.
Good night and be back in the morning. |

Rep Power: 3 | | Hi Sam and everyone else. It's been a good week with 1.3 down.
I am hoping to get down another 10 before I go away on holiday to the beach in Dec. So with this week it's 8.7 to go in 7 weeks. I am sure that I can do it.
I must say that I am starting to see a bit of saggy skin on my thighs. I haven't been to the gym for a week or two and I think I need to try pilates or yoga to firm things up a bit.
Any advice from the experienced ones here?
