Rep Power: 3 | | New to Cohens Hi, I've just recently started on the Cohen's diet and have painstakingly made it to Day 12. It's not really that hard if you think about it, it's just the old bad habits that you miss. I too am focused on reaching my goal weight, sick of not being able to fit into my clothes or being the 'bigger' girl. I've lost 5kg's thus far, even though I was disappointed initially because I expected the weight loss to be huge!!! However I am happy to report that after reading all the positive posts I have made peace with it. Thank you for all the encouragement and support, my consultant isn't very helpful and gets agitated when I ask her questions. I haven't said anything as yet because I'm afraid she'll get back at me by giving me wrong information!!
I really can't wait to reach my goal weight, 5 down 22 more to go! |

Well welcome to both of you and all the best for this exciting journey ahead! You will be suprised how fast the day's go once you really get into it. No food or tempation can be stronger than my will to succeed and prove that I am a winner.
Take care of yourself and help up the fab work

Rep Power: 59 | | Hi NickyJ & welcome to the forum. 5kgs in one week. That's fantastic. I wouldn't be at all disappointed with that as it really is huge. Go have a look at 5kg of butter in the supermarket & then you will feel better about it. I think we all want to lose our excess weight overnight but the funny thing is that you learn so much more about yourself & how to change your habits with time. Try not to weigh any more than every 4 weeks if you can. Your weight fluctuates so much in one month. Weighing often is risky and can lead to sabotaging thoughts. You will lose weight if you stick to Cohen's NickyJ. You will soon notice your clothes becoming baggy. Read some motivational books to help with self-image. I found overcoming lack of self-esteem my biggest hurdle. Learning to love yourself & to start thinking that you deserve to be slim & healthy & to be loved will enable you to get to GW & stay there. I look forward to following your journey.
Cheers, Cate. |

Rep Power: 12 | | | 5kg in one week is DEFINITELY huge. I have NEVER lost 5kg in one week. Just be really happy - there's probably not much else you could have done to lose that whilst remaining healthy.
Anyway, welcome to the program. Stick with it and the weight will look after itself. The numbers are only numbers - if you just concentrate on the plan, on eating well and regaining health, you will be healthy and glowing in a matter of months.
As Cate says, the progress in clothes "looseness" is the biggest motivator of all - so look forward to creating a new you with a new wardrobe soon! |

Rep Power: 3 | | Thank you for the motivation Nickychick, Bigjim, Cate, Niyah...It feels wonderful to have all this support and you're right, I do feel amazing. My confidence level has been boosted, I don't allow people to dictate how I feel anymore or at least not as much. I'm more in touch with myself than I've ever been, and a lot more kinder. I don't spend most of my day thinking what junk food I'm going to have or comfort myself with food anymore, there's just so many other things to do. I love looking forward to the new me, this programme really is amazing, on more levels than one! I must admit (I dream of the new me EVERY NIGHT) I look forwad to sharing my journey with all of you, and look forward to your posts for my daily dose of inspiration. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart ! |

Rep Power: 3 | | Hi NickyJ welcome to the forum. It's a real place of support, no judgment and we are all in the same boat. I have just completed week 2. I have been feeling great for the most part and it has been really easy. Clothes are feeling looser, but no real comments yet. I guess that will come. I have lost 6 in 2 weeks.
It's the best thing I've ever done diet wise and I know that I will get to goal.
Good luck and keep going!

Rep Power: 21 | | | NickyJ, re your other thread, you are almost 1/2 way there. That can be a tough time. It can become easy to get complacent. Hang in there. Can you use this thread as your diary. It might help through tricky times, especially if you can post when you are feeling tempted, or a temptation is lurking in the wings. We can support you more, and it might just be what gets you over the line.
Stay Strong x |

Rep Power: 59 | | | Hi NickyJ- I came in here to say exactly what L-Jay just said. Typing in your diary every day helps you to maintain your focus & to get any issues you may have out into the open where you can better see them & deal with them. Hang in there, xo Cate. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
