I've been on Cohen's for about 1.5 months now and it's all going well but I'm still not sure about my goal weight. Did anyone else find that their ideal weight was a lot smaller than they anticipated? Now that you're further along in your weight loss does it seem more attainable and 'ideal' for you?
I obviously want to be smaller but my ideal weight (between 46 and 54kg) seems really tiny!
Thanks!

Rep Power: 59 | | Hi Ruby, I have never heard of anyone being given such a wide variation in their GW range. It's usually a 3kg range. I settled up 3kg above my Cohen's GW as I do not like looking skinny. Slim is good for me but I still have shape. Once you get to goal it is easy to adjust back up a few kgs if you don't like it. My consultant recommended doing it that way. Going back on Cohen's 100% to lose some more later is much harder, even though you think it shouldn't be. Welcome to the forum! I hope to hear some more from you. Cheers, cate |

Thanks for the reply, it was really helpful. I'm only 17 now and 16 at my first consultation so that's probably why I was given such a big range. |

I have been on cohens for the past 6 weeks and have lost 11.2 kgs. My Goal weight is 52-55kgs. I don't think I have ever been that small! I guess we get scared of failing, so look for easy outs. I don't try to look towards how much to go to my Goal weight (sometimes looks too far off). I try to concentrate on looking towards each 5kg goal mark. I find this easier and rewarding.
Hope this helps.

YES. When they first told me I nearly fell off my chair!
I was 77kg at first weigh in, now I am two weeks in and 72kg, my goal weight is 63kg... I thought NO WAY! I seriously thought they would say around 67kg.
Anyway! Yes, it does seem a little more realistic and attainable now that I have started. I will see how I go. If I get comfy at a higher weight the clinic said to let them know and we can discuss. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thanks so much Shine, your response was really helpful. I think I nearly fell of my chair too, my goal was just a lot lower than I had ever anticipated it would be! Good Luck with your weight loss! |

This is my 2nd time on Cohens but my GW was between 65-63kg and I did make my 63 GW. Yours does seem to be very wide apart....I would check it out with your consultant asap.
Cohens ususally measures you by it's shoe size as an indicator and then your height and is taken when you join.
Good luck with it Ruby you are very young I see, so that may be the reason for the wide range like you say....but it is best to check it out. How long is your plan for???
Mine was 4 months.
All the best now - Sam |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thanks for your reply nans68. I never realised it was that unusual to have such a wide range, my only guess could be my age. I haven't actually got a set time frame-I'll make sure to ask about that too at my next consultation but I'm doing well so far.
