Rep Power: 0 | | | Fruit in the US Hi~ I am visiting my daughter in the US and asked her to pick up some mangos and papayas. She said they were awful right now. Can anyone in the US tell me what fruits are on Cohen's and are good now? Thanks!!! |

Rep Power: 59 | | Hi gpm 9150- Most of us are in Aust in the Cohen's section of the forum. Why don't you email your daughter a list of Cohen's approved fruit & ask her to buy whatever is fresh atm? I tried googling to see but didn't have much luck. |

Rep Power: 72 | | | Mango and papaya are not really common US fruits. Maybe in the more tropical parts of the country - maybe Florida - but I've lived pretty much all over the US and I don't remember anywhere that those fruits were common and inexpensive.
Right now citrus fruits are pretty cheap, as are apples and pears. Other than that, there's not much else in the US that's seasonal right now. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Thanks I was wondering if the US Cohen diet had different fruits than Singapore? On our list is:
Apple
Apricot
Grapefruit
Mandarin
Nectarine
Orange
Papaya
Honey Dew
Kiwi
Lemon
Mango
Peach
Thanks for helping....this is my second time (didn't follow the refeed last time and paid the price) so I really want to do this correctly this time. Thanks again! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Thanks Cate! Do you or anyone know if there are other fruits allowed in the US that I can substitute for mangos and papayas? |

Apple
These are mostly available - moreso in the South US than in the north, but they're reasonable and available.
Grapefruit
Mandarin
Nectarine
Orange
Lemon
These are very much summer fruits in the US and very much past season. If you're going to buy any of these items, they'll be pretty expensive, as we're well out of summer and moving on into winter now.
Apricot
Peach
Honey Dew
These are not common fruits in the US and are generally imported at all times of the year. They're cheaper in the summer, but not by much. Sometimes Mexican mangoes can be gotten on sale, but usually they're just not cheap or easy to find in the US at any season.
Kiwi
Papaya
Mango |
