Lots of catching up to do in here, havnt been on for a while as I had an unexpected trip to London for work, tried to stick to Cohens food as much as I could - it was tough but I did ok. I didnt gain any weight and had a loss of .5 in 10 days so back on track now.
Welcome to the newbies, FitnFeisty, Lukey, Aussueeater, Baby Jo. Good luck to you all, you are gonna love this program just like so many of us in here do.
One word of advice, stick to it 100% and just sit back and watch the weight drop off.
Everyone else is doing great. Ezzy..way to go on your 3 month loss and 77cm's...awesome! Lam: Hope your'e havin g a great time and the relies are gentle with you Cate: As always doing great , in the 70's now...woo hooo. Jools, Nonna, Mermaid sister... hope you're all doing great!

Well done on your efforts while travelling, I found it didn't effect me and the loss on my return accelerated.
Nice to see you back

I find sauces/flour hard to avoid with eating out on trips. In asia I tend to avoid salads for health reasons, and only have cooked veggies....so the selection is sometimes a bit slim.( although I do pack my crackers) An egg at brekky is the easiest!
I had alcohol 3 days ago.....It is SOOOOOO not worth it. Your loss comes to a screeching halt. I also have to admit I felt really quite sick the next day, even though it was 2 glasses! I'm relly very cross at myself for giving into friends (I was really badgered into it, with lots of toasts etc......but still my own silly fault)
I hope everyone else is ticking along well!
Any new cooking ideas? I'm going to spoil myself with prawns this weekend! |

Rep Power: 59 | | Hi fellow Cohenites! I don't know how anyone manages this jetsetting on Cohen's. Annie & Sue- You are incredible!!! I've been a hermit lately. I don't think I'll stay that way for long though. I'm back feeling chirpy!!xo Cate |

Cate, Nonna and Sue thanks for your lovely words.
Whilst away I found the evening meals the hardest. I had an apartment with cooking facilities, so prepared b/fasts and lunches but at night I ate out every single night - stuck to cohens foods as much as I could but of course nothing was measured and not all vegies were available.
Sue, this prawn recipe was in May newsletter - I have made this a few times and is yum!
Check it out at: http://www.lifestyleclinic.com.au/fi...r_May_2007.pdf
My latest addiction is fresh ricotta, sprayed lightly with olive oil and with cracked pepper on Salada crackers (Similar to Saltines for non - Aussies)
Yummmmmmooooooooo!!!
Not much else to report, apart that it's cold...brrrrrrr!!!
Hope everyone is doing great

Rep Power: 0 | | Annie, you're an inspiration girl. I travel a bit with work and I am dreading having to go away once I start on Cohen's.
Well I am still waiting for my plan to arrive. In the mean time I am letting fridge total empty and same with my pantry. I am going to get rid of any temptations.
I'm going to find it hard, I always struggle to be good when it comes to eating during winter. Its getting so cold already....but this is my year to shift this excess weight for once and for all. I have to do it for my health.
Keep up the good work everyone...I'm encouraged when I see everyone's tickers ... you have all done so well, hopefully I can be like you in the near future.

I am so happy to be back from my trip and love seeing how well everyone is doing. I had a great trip and so much fun visiting with relatives. Two of them are on diets, so I told them all about Cohen's, they are looking over my new client packet to get more info. One of them just had gastric bypass and has lost 133 lbs in 7 months (and still losing), she looks great but I wish she had found out about Cohen's first. I did the best I could as far as sticking to Cohen's but there was no way of avoiding everything, so I just ate small portions of non Cohen's food. My 4 week blood work came in the day I left, so I am going to wait a week before I have my blood work checked (I started back on 100% Cohen's this morning). I hope my blood work isn't off the charts, hehe. My email from Cohen's will be, so you had bacon, cakes, and non Cohen veggies, tsk tsk. But guess what, I weighed myself today and I still lost a pound, how crazy is that.
Glad to see all is well, and welcome to all the new friends. |

Rep Power: 59 | | | Well I think everyone is doing a fantastic job! Something always comes along and always will to throw us out but we get back on track & move forward. That's what we are all doing. No point looking back, pointing the finger or beating ourselves up.
I think we all draw inspiration from one another. The forum & the support & kindness towards one another has given me the strength to keep on looking towards the future & it's going to be a much healthier one! Let's keep up the good work! Cheers, Cate. |

Brrrrr isn't it cold in Melbourne! Yucko.....
always harder to walk etc.....but I look in here, get inspired by all your weight losses......and off I go! (plus there is a little furry face at the window...begging me to take him!)
LOVED that prawn recipe mmmmmmm will definitely give it a go on Saturday. I always try to make one "special" meal a week...sort of like a treat, but still following cohens.
Does anyone use herbamere? it's a salt substitute, with herbs added. I cant see any flour or anticaking agents listed....so it should be allowed Right? I've emailed Perth and Geelong...with no reply from the offices I guess since I was a member of Cheltenham, they aren't interested. Poo!
I'm experimenting with chillies and curry at present...I find I get to a boring stage, where I get fedup with stirfrys etc unless they pack a punch! The MOTH (Man of the house) reckons I'm stinking the place out!!!
Best wishes all......fiinish the week with an energetic burst of light eating, and healthy exercise!!
My daughters and I are keeping our hands busy in the evenings (no snack eating) knitting for a charity, sending warm clothes overseas....Not sure how good the knitting is....but it keeps my hands away from my mouth! |

Rep Power: 59 | | | Sue, I'll email my consultant in Hobart after the weekend & ask her about the Herbamere. She usually replies promptly so will let you know. I find if I use too many spices, especially curry powder I get too thirsty. A lot of curry powders have fillers in them as well apparently.
I'm off to freezing Melb. tomorrow. I hope it's not as cold as you say! I've lost my inbuilt thermal underwear! xo Cate |

I never got a chance to have my four week blood work because I went out of town and the local lab has restrictive hours. Do you think having it down the beginning of next week will make much of a difference? Did anyone else have this problem?
I hope all is well, stay warm! |

Ive make some mistake when doing this program. Firstly, I tot that we can just squeeze (nt whole) a little lemon juice in the food and still take 2 fruits per day. But when i read the book again, i realise i make a mistake....will this slow down my wt loss? Im quite worried bcos Ive done it a few times | Hi BabyJo ) I'm from Sg too. There are several tips shared by fellow Cohenites on how to deal with hunger and in summary, the suggestions fall under two categories:
(i) Food Changes: Experiment with different types of allowed food and find the ones that satisfy you the most
(ii) Meal/Snack Times: Spread out your food intake such that you have snacks of crispbread or fruits, both your allowance, between meals
Don't worry about any mistakes make - it's already done and we can't reverse it. I think what's important is you found out and nipped it so early in your program. So look ahead, stick to the plan, and whether it happens slowly or quickly, you're still losing weight |

LOL - MOTH. My moth hates balsamic vinegar and I love it. I'm new to cohen's (day 5 at the moment) and I'm finding I'm adding curry and chilli with the meat meals and using balsamic in salads. To me it feels more like a "full" meal if it's full of flavour rather than bland "rabbit food" which is what I'm scared it will seem like and if that happens I may fall off the wagon.
LOL about stinking the house out!!
