I am into my 4th week of the Cohen's Lifestyle and am very excited to have just found this thread. I go for my first blood test on Monday and weigh in on Tuesday.
I am curious if anyone else suffers from PCOS, and has that affected their weight loss with Cohens.
What are everyones plans for Christmas, I have not deviated yet but am unsure what to.
PS how do I add a ticker??? Yes I am a bit dumb when it comes to these things. |

DREAMER >> WOW congratulations hun! keep up the good work, my first weigh in is next friday and im too hoping for a 2 digit number to appear for my first month weight loss!!and especially since you deviated a few times thats just FANTASTIC...it just goes to show that this little miracle of a diet truly DOES WORK!!!
HELLO THINKINGTHIN>> yes this thread is very inspirational!without the amazing stories of the women and men on this thread i dont think i would be on the cohens diet at all! Its good to meet another person with PCOS..i found that when i first signed up with cohens i had a chat with my consultant and we talked about any medications i was on or any illnesses that i had (to ensure dr cohen would give me the exact measurements i needed to succeed)
It was just SO amazing to see at my first week weigh in i had lost FIVE kilo...
yep thats right...in ONE week!!
i have tried so many diets and strenous exercise in the past but NEVER saw results like these before!its finally given me hope that even something like PCOS cant stop you from being a skinny minny!!
ALSO if you want to add a ticker there should be a html site just above mine...it should say something like "ticker creates at choosingtolose.com or something along those lines...just click on it and it will direct you to a site to set your own ticker up...THEN at the end it will give you a code to cope and paste onto you 'signature' in this forum..
hope that was a little help!!
Happy loosing everyone! ill update my ticker next friday after my one month weigh in YIPEEE!!!

Rep Power: 0 | | Everyone is doing soooooo amazingly.
I've been very flat this week and have had to step it up a gear with creativity for meals. Finding I'm getting bored easily and missing my beer and lemonade sshandies I normally live on in summer.
On the positive my appetite has almost disappeared. Just not hungry and having to force myself to eat.
Going to embark on some exercise next week and see how that effects my hunger and weight loss.

Go easy on the exercise. This program is about rest, quality sleep, and letting your body do what it has to do without being shaken about!
Obviously, if you usually walk to the bus or walk the dog continue to do that, but Cohen's is not about 'exercise'.
My Consultant was quite particular about this.
She said 'You will start to feel full of energy, and may want to do some exercise. When you feel like this, sit quietly, watch some TV or read a book, have a nap, and the feeling will pass. If you don't usually exercise you may stimulate hunger and end up by defeating the program'.
So don't get carried away. Sit quietly, drink the water, and when you are slim, trim, taut and terrific, then you can do exercise to your heart's content!
Cheers

Rep Power: 0 | | | I asked my consultant about it having PCOS and she just fobbed it off and didn't ask me anything further. I was really worried when I first started that this was going to be another thing that doesn't work for us PCOS sufferers. But I have seen results and quickly so I have renewed hope.
Out of curiosity how long is the contract on everyone else's program. I have about 50kg to loose and my contract is for 6 months. I still find it hard to believe that that I will be skinny in May 07. |

I have 57 kg to lose and my contract length is 12 months, which is the maximum length of time. I would go back to the consultant and check on that, because usually they allow for 1 kg a week, plus a bit extra. |

Hi Sam,
I was 126 kg and it has taken me 1 year, 2 weeks to lose 56 kg so far. I still have about 5 more to go.
I'm given about 1.5 years to lose about 62 to 66 kg. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | quickie just a ticker update.... YAY!!!! i've hit the 80's... i havent been this weight since probably yr 7... 11 yrs ago....
Oh had my PCOS checked and apparently still not ovulating... oh well... though she did say my thyroid has gone from 29.9 down to 9.2 (even though i stopped taking my 200mg thyroid tablets ages ago!!!-waste of time i didn't have any changes like she said i would and also i felt fine) now i am on a 100mg tablet just to control it for a while until i get down to 65kg and get another blood test done...
Not too worried about my PCOS thingy though as my blood tests were done a week too early to show ovulation so i don't know y i had to have one then... 8 days after day 5 in cycle... as ovulation is roughly 14 days after last day of cycle... and since i have a 7 day cycle it just doesn't add up.... but i wont go into details... so now hubby and i are tryig for a baby...
YAY!!!
