Newlife: you deserve a pat on the back. Your patience is amazing. I wish you all the best for the refeed! Remember - there's no point in deviating - the yummy things will taste even better when you are finished (plus they still taste the same, so it's not worth giving in).
I can kick myself, as I should have been maintaining my refeeed weight by now *sigh* but I've learnt the hardest way.

Having a slow day today. Noticing hunger and it's 20 minutes until home time! Was noticing last night in bed how loose my skin is starting to get. And this morning - while on the loo (not that you really need to know that) - how much my highs are shrinking! As I don't have a full length mirror - I don't notice my body loss visually - just my face in the mirror. But looking down, there is def less leg than 2 weeks ago! My rings are also really loose. Hm... what else. Oh my shirts are seriously floating on me! All good thoughts to keep me strong!

Have a great night all!

Exclamation Congratulations on the refeed!

Newlife How amazing to be on refeed what a HERO you are to all of us newies keep up the good work we will be counting down the days til graduation.

As for the hunger Kirby I have a physical job and am used to grazing on nuts through the day for energy so I make a point of spacing out my fruit or crackers and have not felt hunger since starting the program
good luck

WOW newlife!! that is so inspiring for a newb on day 2. good on you. can i ask has you skin gone back in with your body?? was curious about that.

so yes i am on day two. i have missed two days of getting on here so very hard to catch up and reply to everyones posts.

Day 2. not finding it so hard but do get hungry here and there. a slight headache hanging around and very tired. is this normal??? admittedly i forgot to start my multi vits but did that today.

hard not to just nibble on the kids meals, even cutting the top off the iceblocks was tempted but try to go into robot mode and realise these are all habits that will be hard to break.

trying the yoghurt tomorrow morning. mixed it tonight with a little sprite zero and put it in the freezer. hope that helps. actually got the jalna.

its been easy to can the milk in coffee and tea and have been having a peppermint tea to wind down at end of day which is nice.

the sleep thing is so true. i normally stay up until 11pm but been going to bed around 9. nighttime as fatty was my munch time so best to just sleep.

to the one that came back kirby is it, (sorry was pages ago), but look at your ticker. i tell you it inspires me so let it inspire yourself.

what is the rissole recipe. i think i would like that. loving my king prawn salads though!!

Lose on friends!! this is a great life line.....

NEW LIFE you ARE inspiring, THANK YOU for sharing your journey with us and I'm excited to be sharing your refeed stage with you.

I too suffer with being 100% but reading your confession has given me hope that I WILL make it to the end!

Can't wait to hear how you are going tomorrow.

Hello
I would like to introduce myself, I started cohens in June last year and lost 22kilos. Then 3 months ago one deviation lead into 2 deviations and so on, I gained 5 kilos, I have another 20 kilos to go to goal. I’m so glad I have found this forum, you give each another so much support.

I am now back on track and determined to get to goal.

Tasm82: We have around the same amount to lose, my contract also runs out at the end of May.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Helen

End of Day 1 of Refeed

Dear all,

I'm going to hit the sack soon but just thought I should post something to share with you all my experiences.

Actually, it's a lot easier than I thought to be! I didn't deviate at all because I strategized what time I was going to eat my crackers and fruits. But I got to admit, that because the office pantry is just behind my back, my eyes would steal an occassional glance at the yummy foods. But I told myself to be strong and stay clear from them!

I don't know why but I was full for dinner. I couldn't eat finish all my protein and vegetables so I had to throw the leftovers. It wasn't much of a leftover though. I didn't want to force myself to eat everything so I put a stop to it when I feel that my stomach cannot take it anymore.

Now, I'm still feeling full from dinner. Oh yah... during the day, I have the occassional sugar cravings, so I will take a piece of chewing gum or so...

Anyway, Day 1 has ended! I'm proud of myself! Tomorrow is a very long day at work... from 7 am to ... 9 pm plus! I hope I can conquer the day at work without any deviations.

Yayyy! Day 1 of zero deviations! Day 2, here I come!

Thank you all for being so supportive... will continue to try my best..

To those who have fallen off the bandwagon, get back on it... It's never too late to go on... Cohen is about perseverance, patience and discipline. =)

I made it to halfway

Hi everyone

I am so excited as the dreaded scales finally did a big drop for me and I am now offically half way - have to admit I am quite chuffed with myself for being able to stick 100% to cohens for the last 11 weeks and hope to continue the same way for the DOWNHILL (gotta love that) journey..

I'll be raising a glass of diet ginger ale this afternoon -

YEAHHHHH

Newlife - Refeed

Hi Newlife, congratulations on reaching refeed!

Having completed refeed, can I please emphasise how very important it is to eat ALL of the additional food prescribed in your refeeding booklet. The process is very gradual with increasing portions and variety and I am concerned that if you continue to throw out small amounts of your refeed quantities that it will not stabilise your body as much as possible. I don't want to discourage you, but not eating everything as directed during refeed is deviating! Please, read through your refeed instructions again and maybe talk to your consultant about your first day and what your best course of action is from here.

I know it's hard to start with, the extra protein and veges seems like you're stuffing yourself silly, but you MUST eat everything listed on the refeed to the gram. If you are having trouble with the quantities, space out your increased amounts of vegetables and protein across at least 2 of your meals.

Good luck with those increasing meals, and enjoy the new fruits!

Hi Mez,

Serious? I have to finish up everything? According to my booklet, they said in the event that I cannot finish my food, I should eat finish the new protein and leave out the old protein. But for Day 1, there is no new protein so since I'm only eating the old protein in increased quantities, does it mean that I have to eat everything?

This is a good question. Okay... I will go call my consultant later on... hopefully I can get them before I eat my lunch cos my lunch today is 150g of fish... up by 30g!

Thank you for your kind caution. Really do appreciate it.

Wow - there are some inspiring stories!!

It's my first day on Cohens today and I am so happy to be on the program! I pre-made all of my portions last night and have worked out a schedule as to when I can have my fruits (2 per day) and Vita Weat (5 per day).

But I do have a little question - do you ladies know if baby octopus counts as calamari?

Good luck to everyone !!! I hope to see results in the first week !

ad4ad!!!

ad4ad!

heya! no baby octopus is NOT counted as calamari, they are two totally different things..

where are you buying your fish from? if you go to the seafood deli section of your nearest store or maybe the fish market you will be able to find either

A) Calamari (the little round circle thingos )
B)Squid / Squid tubes (these are calamari BEFORE they have been cut up into little circle thingos)

also ask your consultant if your still not sure!

good luck and happy losing!

caroline xx

only 7 more sleeps till my 12 week weigh in!!

Welcome Ad4AD

You sound very organised which is what Cohen's is all about.
You are obviously very motivated so way to go.
Just think in 2 weeks you will feel your clothes become looser, your complexion becoming brighter and you will feel great.

I am in size 12's now but used to be a 16 - the 12's are now loose on me and I go for my 8 week weigh next week. So if you stick to the plan without any deviations (I have had 2) you will definitely see the weight fall off.

And FATCAT is right about the calamari I bought the tubes today.

Best of Luck
Sam
