Hello ladies,

I have not posted for a little while - I actually felt guilty - despite my strength and enthusiasm I caved and had a packet of chips.

I was beating myself up about it, as how could i let that happen so early inthe program, today is my day 8..... but I shrugged it off and told myself that it happened and at the end of the day I didn't enjoy it - so I know I will not do it again..... and I have not

My consultant weighed me at the end of the first week and I had my hands over my eyes as I just did not want to know.... I knew I had set myself back by having the snack....... Gaye asked me to open my eyes and after 7 days I had lost 2.2kgs .............

What would the loss of been if I had not slipped???

NO MORE SNACKS for me that's for sure!!!

hi ad4ad.
we are pretty much on par with our weight and goal. i am on day 9 so just a day ahead. so your consultant weighed you after a week?? mine just called. i weighed myself.

dont beat yourself up, it was just a speed hump in your road to slimville. you got over it and learnt a lesson. good on you for staying on track. some would have packed it in. it does get easier dont you think?? i was naughty today. i licked the spoon i cooked the kids rice with. i felt soo sooo bad, mostly to myself as that is the first deviation. not a big one but still gave in. bugger. but over it and on with it.

have you found some favourite recipes?? i love pizzas, egg and mayo (tsp) crackers. tonight i made a curry chicken soup. was so yummy.

hope you feeling better and see what this week brings. Bigger weight loss i am sure.

Tanya

i think we all understand your emotion....that is why we are here! i think you are an amazing person. after all you are caring so much for yourself, your needs are important and by being on the plan you have proven that to yourself. i indeed am proud of you, as i'm sure many other people are. well done you deserve to reward yourself. chin up hun....it's downwards from here (on the scales of course) LOL

Hi all,
I have been reading this forum for the last two months and have found it to be inspirational. I do not have much time to write anything but wanted to ask Newlife about refeed as I am getting closer to it as the days go by. I have lost ten kilos in eight weeks. Newlife what are your normal daily portions/weights now, in comparison to the normal Cohens food allowances? So afraid of putting weight on again, but you have shown that it doesnt happen, you have six days to go, sooo lucky!

40 today

Yes I am 40 today.

Not 40 years old, that will be in about 4 months, but 40KG down today. Feeling great!

Threw away some old pants and clothes that I wore when I was 123KG, I cannot believe some of the pants I threw away. These days they are way to big! But 5 months ago I couldnt even get them around my waist !

Only 3KG more and I will start refeeding process, that's just 2 weeks away.

My though for today "Consistent Action"! Human minds always try to attribute problems to clear specific actions and causes like "I like chocolate thats why I got fat", "My mum was fat", however the real truth is that daily small mistakes in our eating over a long period made us fat! Consistent action can also reverse our mistakes of the past "Daily small corrections", taking consistent action, doing things right or a bit better over a long period. This is the core of the Cohen diet, you need to take small consistent action to eat the Cohen meals, plan and prepare Cohen meals for a number of months, each meal is not hard to prepare, each meal is not hard to eat, each meal is enough to prevent hunger, its simple, it is easy. The trick or should I say the hard bit is doing this simple task over a long period and not getting sidetracked. And when you do get sidetracked getting yourself back on course!

Congratulations Lessfatty (your name says it all)

40kg you must look and feel amazing.

It sounds like you have your head in the right place with the whole dieting thing.
This is the stage when after the weight comes off that we try and remember not to become complacent and revert to our old eating habits.
It is so easily done as we all know.

I am 3kg's away from goal and I am a little bit anxious about life after Cohen's.

Maybe somebody could (introduce a thread) out there who has successfully completed Cohen's (long term) can give as some advice on how they are managing. It would extremely beneficial to all here

Well done again Lessfatty thanks for the inspiration.

Sam

Back on track

Well after quite a few mishaps I have reset my goals and am feeling alot better about I really want to follow this through and by gees its hard to refocus after deviating but I have and thats the main thing in my eyes. In 6 weeks I will treat my self to a day spa which I am very excited about, not sure what i am gonna do there but when it gets closer i will work it out, I have also decided that if I deviate at all I lose $10 for everyday that i do it, which I think is a great incentive because if I deviate thats less money to spend on myself which we just cant have now can we!!
I have been reading through the posts and am enjyoing them they give me more incentive and drive so thank you to all the people who inspire me with your words it is really great!!
OMG this is the most I have typed in a post I am usually not very good with words so I must be getting a bit better at it LOL!!
Well must go and have my lunch mmmm cant wait to eat it!!
Bye for now

Red face aww shucks

First of all i would like to say a HUGE thankyou and lots of kisses and hugs to Newlife Melly P Dreamer Nans68 HeyFatty Itsmytime for the warm and encouraging replies! I feel so special knowing that even though we may not know each other, a few simple words can mean so much to a person! You guys have definately helped pull my head out of the sand and realise that we are ALL in this together and either way (fast or slow paced) we are ALL taking steps to improving our health, well being , mind and bodies!!!!

I had a long hard think about why i was so discouraged and really it was all superficial!!! Because im 20 (21 in 3 weeks ) i was/am feeling really left out of my social scene (going out with friends on the weekend to restaurants or clubbing) . But this is seriously SUCH a short journey for the amount i am losing and in the end it will all be worth it. so i will continue to keep paddling in that little boat of mine and maybe it might grow a 4 speed motor boat engine on its own hehehe :P

So thankyou to all your replies once again! Ive taken your words of wisdom and im going to start treating myself damnit!! As of monday im booking sessions in the solarium so i can have a hot tan to go with my hot bod and in a few weeks i will be getting my teeth whitened (bday pressie to me).

YEEEEHAH FOR COHENS!!!

Lotsa Love and Happy Losing!
Caroline x

oh and before i forget!! HAPPY 40 KILO LOST LESSFATTY!!!!!! WOOO!!!!!

Congratulations Lessfatty & FatCat!

[QUOTE=lessfatty;191750]Yes I am 40 today.

Not 40 years old, that will be in about 4 months, but 40KG down today. Feeling great!

Congratulations Lessfatty - what a fantastic achievement!! You must feel soooo good and so very proud of yourself.

FatCat - You've done an amazing job - to give you some perspective, I started only 12 days after you - weighing around 77 kg and am currently around 68 kg ... so a loss of 'only' 9 kg and I've been on Cohens for only 12 days less than you.

As I've said in earlier posts - the way you look (ie your measurements) is the true indicator and I know that can be hard - I personally can't but help focus on the kg loss instead of the cm loss - because at the end of the day, Cohen's don't say "We'll give you your refeed when you have lost X cm" ... it is all kg based.

One thing that also isn't taken into account at all with Cohens when they calculate your goal weight range, is that for every weight range, there is also a range of bone structures (ie fine, medium and heavy/large). I'm not trying to make excuses about being 'heavy boned', but you don't have to be Einstein to work out that larger bone structures would mean heavier bones ... people are actually saying to me that I must have the 'proverbial big bones' because there is no way I look like I have another 17 kg to lose.

Anyway, enough waffling from me - be proud of yourself - you're doing a great job ...

Kind regards

Taffy

Amazing Jewls

Hi everyone

I have only posted once or twice but love reading this forum. Jewls is a special friend of mine and she looks absolutely amazing. I wish she would post some photos. As most of you would know she has not devitated in the eight months she has been on the program and the results more than speak for themselves. She has had every emotional excuse to deviate, including a very painful broken ankle but stubborn girl that she is, has stuck to her plan 100%. Jewls this is a very public thank you for the support and encourgement you are to me. Post and let everyone know your latest figures!!!!!!! Go hot mama!!!

Hi all.
Went out tonight. first social outing with a couple of girlfriends. was great. drank my waters, watched a cool band, had a boogie and laughed at all the pissed people. was heaps of fun. i do admit i did a mini deviation. i had a diet coke. and pressuming that over a bar it is not caffiene free. i made the excuse to myself that if i can have a normal cup off black coffee then surely one diet coke wont hurt. ooops!!! anyhow. done it and getting over it. could have been worse.

just telling hubby today that i havent had one meal that i have to really force down. i really enjoy the food i am eating. am starting to forget my crackers and eat my fruit just cause. so that is a bonus.

anyhow good to hear everyone in high spirits. my new goal along with the 25kg is that i have a ticket to the PINK concert on 23 May and want it all over and done with by then. is this doable??

lose of friends!!

Tanya

Kirby: well I hope you can do it in 6-7 months, because that is my deadline and I have a bit less now than you to lose! But just remember, it's not how soon you can do it, it's how well you can stick to it and take each day as it comes. If I like to myself how much I have to lose, I have to admit it sounds too daunting and I get a bit disheartened. So I set mini goals, take it month by month. I weight monthly, it delivers big numbers and as such doesn't make my total loss seem so impossible! I'm rambling now.

heyfatty: you haven't really deviated, so don't stress - you did so well to stay on track. Good on you.

char239:glad you've found your motivation. It helps to post if you need to offload or just let us know your achievements. I'm sure you'll find a voice in no time and let us know how your journey goes.

ad4ad: it's a good thing you've realised early that deviating isn't worth it. The taste of success is so much better than chips!!! I managed enough will power tonight to say no. I've had cravings for so many evil things, but to be honest, sitting here now knowing I didn't give in is more satisfying.

Well if I don't get to sleep, I'm gonna be having breakfast at lunch!

Goal: double digits ASAP!!

Hi there

Kirby - I haven't seen anyone in the chat room when I check.....I haven't looked that much but.

Last night I really wanted to deviate - I was feeling lazy after already cooking lasange for the family and hubby went out. Had done heaps of housework (you know the story) and all I wanted to do was eat the leftovers. It smelt good and I was so close to eating it........

I hope this is not a sign that on the second half of the plan, when you are looking much better and feeling pretty good about yourself, that it becomes more and more tempting to "just have a little"

LessFatty congratulations on the big 40. Such an achievement, esp with the travel temptations and being ill. Sorting out the old, never to be worn again clothes is really eye opening isn't it?
Fatcat, well done on the loss, hot bod here you come. Sometimes we feel left out because we can't 'be normal' doing 'normal things', but just remember how crappy you'd be feeling if you hadn't started Cohen's and were still going out drinking, eating and still gaining weight. As you say it's a short journey to be where you want to be, so sit back enjoy the ride and it'll be over before you know it.
Taffy, I'm the same, while the cm loss is great, can't help feel that the kg loss is more significant, after all when peple ask how much have you lost, they don't mean cms do they?
Lucee have been wondering how Jewls has been going, met her for coffee before Christmas and she is truly an inspiration and such a lovely lady. Glad to hear the ankle is better.
heyfatty well done on a deviation free night out, I have had to resort to a diet coke on the odd occaision, don't sweat it. You lucky thing, Pink! I would love to see her in concert. If you haven't lost that 25kg, you'll be very close at the least so stay focussed with that goal in mind, but, if it doesn't happen just remember you did the best that you could so any loss will be wonderful.
Kirby and Losing I've popped in to chat as well occaisionally and if no-one is in I've just left, been really tired lately so I'll keep an eye out for you both. I've also got 2 teenagers to race to the computer as well so sometimes that'll put me off .
Have decided to order refeed at 60kg, my goal weight is 54-57kg, so I want to be ready for the 'hunger'. I'm aiming for 54kg but am prepeared to go with what my body says is right. Felt a bit tempted lately, haven't deviated but am finding that I'm looking at choc biscuits etc and thinking about them a little more than I have while on the plan. I do think it's the psychological effect of looking and feeling better and being at a weight where I've never been before. So, will just remember where I started and how well I'm doing and that I'm not going back there ever ever again . That's gotta be better than any treats or deviations.
