Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations newlife on finishing refeed also well done LFon being almost there.
Our new work uniforms arrived today, they were ordered in October to arrive in November and yes I have to send them back . They are way too big, so sad, LOL. Tried on someone elses to get an idea of the size and fit almost into a size 12 so I've decided that that is what I'll order. By the time I get them back they will fit me well and truly.
One of the things that I love about this forum is that when you have a question or are experiencing something that you're not sure of, someone else is at the same page in the book and your answer is often there before you've asked.
Hubby and I are having a weekend away starting with 'A day on the green' tomorrow and staying at the Mercure overnight then lunch for our 18th wedding anniversary on Sunday. My aim of course is to not deviate, esp as I've made it this far (24 weeks on Monday) without knowingly doing so but am not stressing too much about weights and measures, it doesn't take much these days to fill me up so am just planning on listening to my body.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, stay positive all, there is a lot of good work happening so lets keep it up.
Lauren

Hey BeeG, I would dearly love a wine and thus far have resisted any for 24 weeks . I am concerned that tomorrow may be the real teaser as it will be so 'there'.

Question for the Forum!

good evening everyone!
ive just a little teensy weensy question and would love to see the different replies...

Has anyone changed their fruit / cracker eating and if so has this impacted their weight loss for the next month?

the reason im asking is because before i never really ate any of my crackers - just didnt feel like them! but this past week ive been eating all my cracker allowance as well as my fruit and now im a bit worried that this will hamper my weight loss?

hrmmm, ive started changing my breakfasts around a bit too , i used to have only yoghurt everyday but now im having my egg option every second day - i wonder if this will do anything ??

what do u guys think??

In other news, im beginning to dislike working in a bar, i get so tired by the evening and i just cannot be bothered! I will see how working on friday and saturday nights will affect my uni next week..if i get more tired then im just going to start looking for a retail job or something!! Anyone wanna give me a job??

happy losing everybody!!!

Fatcat, you are so gonna have to change your name lol. I have found that altering your menu choices is actually beneficial every now and then, esp at breakfast time. As for the crackers, they shouldn't affect your loss as they are a 'measured part of your intake. I have tried on occasion to cut them down and to even cut back on my fruit and it doesn't seem to make any difference ,so I would suggest you eat them as you require and enjoy. The small amount of carbs is insignificant I'm sure or they wouldn't be included.
Good luck if you decide on a (part time) career change. I too ahve been really tired in the evenings but I'm not up til all hours on my feet in a bar, you've really done well with it thus far. Good luck heading back to uni.

Hi everyone,
Just checking in and I see that everyone is doing just fantastic at sticking to Dr. Cohen's diet. I just love it and can truly say that I have a whole new life now that I am down 27 kilos and I have literally shrunk down in size also...losing 97cm's all over.

I noticed that someone had been discussing Chai tea? Is this not allowed on our diet, even with natural spices? Ut Oh! I have been doing a NO NO here because I have been having a cup of chai tea(Dilmah's) at night with a sugarine to quench my hunger for sweets.....

Help me to clear this up?

Thanks,
Bribie IslandJO

Hi everyone

You know I really like the cohens plan and nothing else in my eyes compares, but do you know the hardest thing for me is my job. I started my job the same time as cohens and you wouldnt believe where they asked me to work aarrrgghhh IN THE CONFECTIONARY department LOL anyway it hasnt been too bad but guess what I am having to do at the moment PUT OUT EASTER EGGS arrgghhh and they all look so yummy my goodness now how hard is that LOL. Also lately I have been making family and friends their childrens bday cakes now this is a challenge and a half, I like everything to be perfect but as i cant try the cake I need to wait til my husband gets home from work which isnt til late coz he is a chef and boy does he enjoy trying it LOL.

Bribie island: I think someone said a few pages back that we cant have chai tea no reason provided though, they had spoken to their consultant about it!!

Fatcat: I eat all my fruit and crackers and i am losing close to 10 kilos a month I tried to cut back on them but I really need them to balance my day out and sometimes I get dizzy which means I need to eat fruit/crackers, I dont think it will have much impact if any but like they say everybody is different! Changing your meals around is good though otherwise you can get bored with the same stuff all the time!! Happy weight loss..

Anyway must go and finish this CARS bday cake I am doing!! Yippee NOT

Charmaine

Hi everyone
Hope everyone had a good week.
Fatcat I eat all my cracker & fruit allowance and even though I don't weigh I know I am still losing because of my clothes I no longer fit into 12's I absolutely swim in them now.
I am not going to weigh either I will wait till my 12 weeks and I am close to that now.
Funnily enough my cravings have ceased which is what waterlilly had said a few posts back. So hopefully I can get within 2 or 3 kgs of my ideal weight then start refeed.
ATB
Sam

Just a ticker update for me today. Woohoo just another 10kg to go!

I was losing a kg a week steady since Week 2, but in this past 4 week period i only dropped 3kg, not a huge difference but i was really dissappointed. Im following the program 100%, no deviations, waters up, vitamins up, eating varied veges across the program etc... Im one of the slow losers! BLARGH.

Good to see everyones doing so great! Keep on losin!

Saturday Arvo Update

Good Afternoon my lovelies

thankyou for everyones reply! its always so interesting to see what everyone else is doing and if people are experimenting ive been eating Original Rye Vitas for a couple of days now (i know i know one takes the place of two crackers!) and i also figure i need all the fibre i can get as its been a bit 'tough' to um...'pass' things lately LOL!!! so hopefully ill be seeing some 'motion' in the next few days as my tummy is getting a bit hard and sore SORRY IF IT WAS TOO MUCH INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Newlife - Are you still out there hun!?You must be off refeed by now SO JEALOUS! hehe yet so excited! how are you going!?

Lonnicee - LOL yeh i should be called 'only-13-left-cat' at the moment hehe oh and thankyou so much for the good luck - its my first year this year and i really want to succeed, i also want to finish cohens asap so i can devote my full attention to my studies! we have around the same weight to lose to well probly be on refeed around same time, i look forward to spurring you on

Char239 - thanks for the reply hun yeh i changed my meals around a bit today - weird as it sounds i had grilled fish and zuchinni for brekkie and yoghurt with apple for lunch, and will have chicken for dinner...tomorrow im planning to have my cheese option for brekkie, fish for lunch, and yoghurt/apple for dinner-desert hopefully it will get my body into 'guessing gear' rather then ' oh shes gonna this and this and this again?!'
that well and truly sucks about your confectionary dillema!! if its any consolation when im working i make cocktails that require butterscotch schnapps/baileys etc (basically YUMMY SMELLING STUFF), it kills me, but nothing tastes as good as being skinny does!

Lexie07 - WOOO HOOO YOU GO GIRL!!! so excited for you hopefully ill be at your stage in about 3 weeks. keep on going hun!you are doing FANTASTICO!

Kirby - Hey hunny are you still with us?? hows everything going! would love to hear some progress from a fellow young perth cohenite!!!

Happy Losing Everyone!! xx

Hey FatCat,

I read every night and morning hehe, I just never post since I'm terrible at writing. Plus I've had the flu for about a week and it's finally passing now. Tomorrow is my 3 week mark so only one more till weigh in (although I was naughty earlier and tried to find one of those scales you put a dollar in at the shops but there wasn't any! lol)
I don't eat any of my crispbread allowance, since the first 10 days. Sometimes on my tafe days I have one since I walk a lot on those days but not really aside from that.

Everyone is doing so awesome, I suck at making supportive posts.. That's why I just usually read lol.
Oh, I'd also like to know why we can't have chai tea. I really like it and it doesn't have any 'forbidden' stuff in it. Ah well at least I like the peppermint one that someone on here suggested.

Hi guys!
This is my day 6 today after my champers incident . I am going strong and I dont even feel tempted. Every other time I tried to get back on the wagon I seemed to fail miserably but this time something in my head has clicked and it is kind of easy . Must be all the encouraging words from you guys and seeing all those beautiful befor and after pics amazing!!! I cant wait to put mine on there .

I have read a few times now that you are not getting weighed untill your 8 or 12 week weigh in. I get weighed every 2 weeks, is that bad?

Char239- Cakes are a hard thing to resist especially when they are fresh out of the oven, I know I just pulled some muffins out of the oven ( for my kids school lunches) and they smell OMG sooooooo good! Not gunna have any though! 1 min of yummyness for hrs of disappointment. Not worth it!! Good on you for not having any ! And me too

Hi Everyone!

I’m very excited as I’m nearly half way to goal. Woohoo!

Lonniecee: Our start and end weights are similar and you are such an inspiration to me. Congratulations & happy wedding anniversary.

Fatcat: I don’t eat my crackers every day and sometimes only one of the two fruits on allowance but I haven’t noticed any difference. However, I do notice if I’ve been eating the same thing for a while then change it seems to stir things up a bit. Also re the hard tummy thing, I have to have slimmers tea at least once a week. The senna really helps to get things moving. I also take it the night before weigh in and it really makes a difference.

Bribie Island JO: I must agree. I’m really enjoying the whole “lifestyle” and I think I’ll probably continue a lot of the good habits I’ve picked up after refeed.

Char 239: I have just started a new job where there are yummy scones provided free all day and the meals are super cheap and I can relate to your frustration. Having said that, it does feel really good when you go home knowing that you stood strong and didn't give in.

Cheers & best wishes to all!

Just a quick e-mail to introduce myself another Cohens newbie (sort of) I have tried Cohens so time ago however I had to place my program on hold for health reasons - as you can image the length of time on the program grew as did my waist.

Today however is a new day and the beginning of my Cohens journey. I spent yesteday cooking meals for the freezer for the coming week (I think being prepared is part of the plan).

I have the panadol on standby for the first couple of days - however I know what to expect so I know I can get through. I am focussing on one day at a time.

Your posts are inspirational - and your support for each other is what will get us all through. I know by myself I won't get through however being able to chat to people who know how it feels will enable me to loose my weight once and for all.

Thank you again - look forward to being able to support you and to have your support.

Cheers
