Rep Power: 0 | | | Skin Issues Im posting this on behalf of my mum, who is travelling along the Cohen's road with me. Have any of you (whom have lost a substantial amount of weight) on the program had issues with excess skin? My mum has just under 50kg to lose and its a bit sceptical on the promise of "no extra skin". Any advice on this one? |

I've lost damned near 50kg now, and have another 40 to go, and I can attest to not having spare skin.
Well, nowhere near as much as I though I'd have.
My skin is like it's a little too big, it's soft and I can feel it moving around above my muscles, but it's CERTAINLY not hanging down. I guess it feels as if it's one step behind my loss, which is to be expected since I've only taken 4 months and 1 week to lose nearly 50kg...
Hope this helps.

Rep Power: 0 | | I was also told to take extra zinc tablets for the skin. But i know what you mean i am worried i end up with bat wings for arm. My tummy also hangs a little now and i worried it will hang more but everyone tell me it will be fine and your skin will keep toning up 6mths after weight loss |

I take Zinc/Chromium, and Magnesium/Calcium and Vitamin E, all for my skin, at the behest of Sue, the magnificent.
I have a genetic skin/ligament condition so my skin is slower to retract than 'normal' skin would be, but hey, even if it sags to the floor, it's better than it being full of fat!!! At least this way I can tie a knot in it. hehe
Seriously, though, if you read through chelsea's posts, she says even now, 6 months after she finished the programme her skin is still shrinking to fit. So, I figure, it's going to take me 9 months to finish the programme, I'll leave the skin a couple of years to shrink properly, and then, if it's still really bad, I'll look at having something done.
I can see, however, that this is only going to apply to my arms, as everything else is shrinking quite well. I was a little worried about my stomach, as I have a Caesarian scar which acts as a fold line at the top of the bikini line (now that I can figure out where bikinis go again! hehe) I was worried the skin would sag at that line, as this is where my gut overhung, but it hasn't, it's retracted nicely with the loss of fat.

Wow your loss is amazing asyoz! way to go! My mum and i are also taking vitamin supplements recommended by the consultant, for the purposes of improving our skin elasticity and a million other scientific mumbo jumbo words and reasons that dont make much sense lol. Just clarifying here, after you reach ideal weight, it takes about 6months to a year to firm skin? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Depends how much you've lost, Lexie.
I've got over 90kg to lose, (that's more than your entire start weight)!! I can't imagine the skin keeping up with my loss entirely!
Have a read of Chelsea's posts, she's finished the programme, and lost about as much as you have to lose. She said shse's fine, but has kept firming over the last 6 months.

Rep Power: 0 | | I've always been led to believe that if you just drink 8 8oz glasses of water from day 1 of your diet that your skin kinda takes care of itself (vitamins never hurt...), but I've always lost weight slowly, too. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | HELP! My boobs are shrinking and my other half keeps telling me i'm gonna have golf balls in socks hanging from my chest!!!
NOT A PLEASANT IMAGE
I was a 16DD-E and am now down to a 14DD, i have been a 12DD in the past.
Will my breast skin shrink as well, or will i be left with the saggy baggy?

Sorry I can't be of much encouragement to you!!
I was a 20DD, now a 16DD, but they certainly require some assistance from a good bra!
I guess how they would respond to losing weight would also depend upon if you have had children and whether you have breastfed.... I have done both twice, and that doesn't help matters much!
But its nothing a good bra can't disguise! |

Rep Power: 0 | | shrinking melons Brieziel: You aren't really shrinking that much. But you are going down back size not really cup size. The size is the ratio around your body... so seeing as you've gone from 16DD-E - some of that DD-E boob will be fat you are losing - but you are losing fat from your back and torso much much more.
I wouldn't worry about it. If you were 12DD previously, chances are you are around the D to DD cup anyway. No golf balls in sight for you!
My boobs are usually the first place to drop. I'm a DD also... have been since I was 13! I imagine I'll go to a D cup (hopefully) I can't wait to fit into sexy nice bras!!!! |

This is very interesting. So far I only have a small amount of loose skin under my arms. I was worried about the tummy but it is behaving quite good. My skin is a lot softer than before and I think that is a lot to do with the water intake and the skin being smooth not necessarily soft. I was told by my consultant also that it would take a few months after the program for the skin to tighten. Another said that her husband wanted her to have a boob job after the program but 12 months later they were back to normal (no weight gain). I was also advised to take extra zinc as my skin is not so elsatic and I think this is helping it stay in shape with me.
All the best.

It is a bit ironic but after being on the program for just over 3 months now I am actually responding to my own initial post, posted by my daughter Lexie07 when we first started. I can now answer the question myself. I can happily say that I am just over halfway now and I have no loose skin, my skin is alot softer than normal, however is slowly toning and I am confident that this will contuine based on everyone's posts. Everyone is doing so well, will keep you updated as my weight drops off.

What great responses from everyone I am noticing all these skin issues as well 7 weeks later - but I started taking all the recommended vitamins etc that Sue my consultant recommended i have also used pure zinc cream which is a bit thick and hard to wash off hands but it's made a difference.
I noticed nobody mentioned stretch marks I have them on my batwing part of arms and my shrinking boobs. I've tried pure vit E oil.
Any suggestions? I know they won't disappear entirely but it would be nice to see them fade a little.
