. . . Plateau?

I have to admit, I'm a bit perplexed.

I have weighed the same for six days. Exactly the same.

I don't understand how I can consistently lose for weeks and then stop for such a long period of time. I laughed it off for a couple of days, but now I'm concerned.

Yes - I'm following 100%.

Yes - I understand that this is a reason why they say don't weigh every day!

I've even moved my bowels several times.

Nada.

Before I resort to frustration - please someone tell me that this is normal!

Many thanks.

ABSOLUTELY...............and boy does it mess with my head. But usually I then have good loss for the next week or so - it evens out it in the end.

How many weeks have you been going for now???and how much have you lost?? I can't see your ticker......

Cheers
Sharon

Hi Carpe Diem, yes it is absolutely 100% normal!! I plateaued for 2 and a half weeks a little while back and it sent me crazy!! Yes I was also sticking to it and Yes I weighed every day too. It will start moving again I promise.
I started changing around my meals a bit (had yoghurt instead of my usual egg etc) I think my body was so used to the same thing all the time and I cut out 2 of my crackers for a couple of days I also made sure I ate both peices of fruit. Seemed to do the trick.
Remember that your body should lose consistantly in 4 weekly cycles so it should catch up in no time.
I hope that helps a bit.

Hello

usually every month I don't lose any weight for a week and this is why I stopped weighing myself because it was making me deviate out of frustration.... I used to think well why not, the scales arn't moving anyway. So you'll get there... and the scales will move again soon..

Two And A Half Weeks???

Oh no Melly P! I'm almost sorry I asked!!

Still no movement.

No deviation either though, so that's something.

Sharon - I don't know what's happened to my ticker, I can't figure it out. I've just cut and paste it again, so I'll see if it works this time. Not updated though! It's going well - I'll post my total loss when I officially weigh in. I got my first 'you've lost weight' comment yesterday (but I felt like replying - not for the last six days I haven't!!).

I don't understand how I can eat so little, exercise as much as I am, drink so much water ... I just don't get it.

Oh well. It's the long term plan though eh? So much for weekly goals.

Sharon I'm hanging on to what you said - I hope I'll double my loss next week!

Thanks guys.

Exclamation ahaa

How much are you excersising?!
you may be building up muscle which could be taking the place of fat reserves...

and if your excersing too much you could actually be causing the plateu!!

speak to your consultant!!

good luck xx

thought I would move this up again because I am having this problem.

My weight loss has been very slow for the past 3 weeks but I have not been concerned because a loss is a loss however I went down to 68.9 three days ago and this morning back up to 69.7??? In the past 3 weeks I have lost only 3kgs Not happy. But this mornings effort takes the cake and now I'm really p'd off. TOM is overdue by aleast 2 weeks and showing no signs of arriving so not too sure what the heck is happening but reading through this thread has enlightened me somewhat that others have done the same. Has anyone else got some advice to offer?

If it makes you feel any better- my weight did not move for 4 weeks when I had 8 kgs to go - I think my body was being stubborn and holding onto the fat. Now I am more back to normal (although a bit slow at losing) but I only have about 5 to go.

I think it just feels like it is taking forever - keep at it -you'll get there

Cheers
Sharon

6 days does not make a Plateau!

Try 6 weeks. 6 days is probably fluid retention
