FLOYD is on a distinguished road
Why no "Hometown" forum section?

Weight loss is a perfect reason for people to meet up and exercise together, go out for healthy meals at restaurants, get together for healthy dinner parties etc... This place should have subsections for major cities where people could link up for these kinds of things.

On other forums I chat on there are a lot of meetings such as this and we just start threads in the 'off topic' or 'general chat' forums about a meeting in XYZ and it works just fine.

Try that if you'd like.

Blancita will become famous soon enough
I love that idea Floyd. It would attract more city-related traffic and conversation and posts if there was a specific section for one's metro area already. If the board was active, newbies would probably immediately post in their hometown forum as well as the newbie section upon arrival to the site. And people who are searching the web for forums about weight loss or exercise groups in their hometown may stumble on the site.

If you start reading others diaries, you will get to know where people are from... and perhaps meet up off line - some of our members have already done that.. somewhere in the offtopic section there's also a members map that you can see where people are from.

become active in the community and you might find what you're looking for but the member base is fairly spread out....

Yea, I have to agree Mal, the forum is just too big for there to be enough people living close enough together to make it worth it. I know there are a couple of people from Ohio (where I'm from) but even though we are in the same state, we are too far apart to have much to talk about.
