Rep Power: 152470 | | | soon-to-be mother of 2 Hey everyone! I'm a soon-to-be mother of 2. I've got a 19 month old daughter, and am almost a week overdue with our second. I know I'm a little early to be joining up here(seeing as I'm still pregnant) but I figured I'd say hi and browse around a little before I start trying to loose my baby weight.
I started this pregnancy out 15lbs heavier than I did with my first, so I've got a fair ammount to loose to get back to that. Any tips for finding the time and energy to get in any kind of workout with a newborn and toddler to take care of would be appreciated. I'm a stay-at-home mom so what time isn't taken up by my kids is usually spent keeping the house in order. Any suggestions for things I can do either while cleaning or playing with my kids to help kick start some weight loss?
Thanks in advance...
oh, and if someone could explain what the cw,gw, sw, and such mean that would be GREAT. thanks! |

I have no clever tips for you that don't involve spending money (exercise videos or walking on a mini trampoline during naps?). I'm chiming in just to lend you moral support. You know from your first little one that the first several weeks/months are full of sleep deprivation, so don't be too hard on yourself if instead of exercise you need to nap when the babies nap! Good luck!
I hope that baby comes soon! My son was one week late and I remember each day of that week vividly

Rep Power: 152470 | | well, she's finally here! and in the 6 days since she was born I've dropped about 22 lbs (give or take haven't weighed in a few days). Granted almost 9 of that was just baby, but still.
I just started my food journal yesterday, but I've got no specific plans for actual work-outs or anything for the next few weeks at least. We'll see where I'm at after my 6 week check-up and go from there. thanks for the support so far. it helps! |

Rep Power: 2578 | | | Congratulations! Welcome new baby! And also congrats to mom on the weight loss so far! I think it's very very smart that you're starting a food diary now and giving yourself a few weeks before taking on exercise - very smart! I'll have to remember that for my next time around. I hope everyone in the family is doing well!

Rep Power: 0 | | | Congratulations and Snap! I had my second child a month ago today, and my eldest is 20 months old.
Have you tried baby wearing? my little one is rather colicy and is worst in the mornings and evenings, what settles him is waring him in a supportive wrap close to my chest and pacing up and down, but now I have started sticking on my iPod and dancing round my living room with him straped to me! Its greast cause it puts him to sleep and I end up working up a sweat dancing about, if my eldest son is about I put the stereo on instead and we all dance around together, so it works out great for everyone! |

Rep Power: 152470 | | cat-I've got a baby carrier right now. Once my husband goes back to work I have every intention of doing exactly what you do and dance around the house while wearing Elena. I need to get back into dancing anyways, seeing as I haven't actively danced since before my first daughter was born. and it's one of the easiest, and funnest, ways to burn that extra fat. so YAY.
miracle-once I get my camera working again, I'll put some pictures up. I might have to have Matt figure out what's wrong with the camera. I'm technology stupid for the most part.
slimmom-thanks for the congrats. we're all doing great. it helps that my husband is willing to get up in the middle of the night too, so I'm not the only one. I've actually gotten to sleep for 3 hours at a time! | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
